Giselle
We first had the pleasure of meeting Giselle and Mark over a zoom call to see if we were a fit. We hit it off immediately. We laughed and chatted and knew our connection was great.
After accepting our family for the sit, Giselle would write to me often, sometimes about the pups or her beautiful garden or just to send me a photo of the sunflowers. Sometimes with instructions on how to care for her home. It gave way for a deeper understanding and friendship to evolve.

We then arrived to spend a few days together before Mark and Giselle set off. Can I take a moment to tell you, Giselle went above and beyond!!! She cooked a spread for a king for our family! We were blown away by her hospitality. She is a fantastic cook and both are wonderful hosts.

And Mark, was completely relaxed and welcoming to our children, setting their pool up for them to enjoy. Mark showed James around the town to familiarise him with the places to buy food and of course, wine! We chatted all things wine. He is a real expert and drank a few of their bottles over great chats.

Then, that night they took us all out for dinner! No small gesture for the 7 of us! He insisted on looking after us.

While away, they both helped us with any issues, answered any questions promptly and enjoyed the messages back and forth on what we were each doing.

Freckles and DJ are very loving and easy going dogs. Our children loved being with them and I so enjoyed DJ as my shadow. And Freckles protecting the kids wherever they went.

I cannot sing Mark and Giselle’s praises enough. If you get the opportunity to sit for their home and pets, you’r in for a treat!

We had a great time looking after the hens (and fish)
The house was huge and really nice. It is literally in front of the beach. Dunbar is a lovely little town 25 minutes by train from Edinbugh. We did not meet Alasadair and his wife and therfore we needed to communciate and ask some further questions regarding the hens which were not 100% clear on the instructions.

Mocha and Sumatra were great. They are always excited to see you and especially Sumatra who wants to be near you most of the time. Mocha has her own agenda and quietly makes her way back to the office to take a nap. Surprisingly Mocha took the lead in getting me up for breakfast, that’s her happy time! Their routine is up early for breakfast and early to bed. Play and naps in between. They have a very spacious fenced in yard and back covered patio area to play.
The house is beautiful in a very prestigious neighborhood just outside of the Dallas metroplex in a country setting.

Samantha
This is a bit late due to COVID and a divorce but I can not reccomend Samantha and Leo enough!
Leo is such a cute wee dog, and although he seems shy at first he will grow to love you pretty quickly.
Samantha is amazing. A clear communicator, caring and kind soul. She showed us around the area before we left and gave us heaps of tips on what Vilnuis had to offer.

I highly reccomend them!

House & pet sitting for Susan and Jamie was a wonderful experience on every point. I can't say enough about them, their family, and of course ... Bear, Sally & Tigger (I fell in love with all three furry kids). Susan appreciates and understands the ethos of the peer2peer housesitting world - and that means the world to me. She and her family are kind, generous and lovely people. Her instructions are well thought out and I had all details needed to manage the home and pets. Bear & Sally are elderly and need some extra understanding and TLC but are such easy-going and sweet souls. I love, love, love their location. This is like being on Cape Cod but better. Everything you need is within a 5-10 minute walk and I never needed a car once. Long walks along the ocean and beautiful scenery. It's an easy hop, skip & jump from Boston's Long Wharf by ferry boat (which I highly recommend). Consider yourself lucky if you get selected to sit for this family, and I hope to visit them again along my journey :) ~ B
