Our little family had an excellent time at Bernie & Kathys Oast House, it’s very spacious and homely. We LOVE Hetty & Stanley, they came everywhere with us, followed us wherever we were in the house and were always at our feet of an evening. Gentle and loving, they were fantastic with our toddler - she liked to brush and ‘walk’ them and they didn’t bat an eyelid! The cats are pretty independent and easy to care for, but they both love a cuddle and a tickle - again very good with our daughter. Bernie has planted a wonderful veggie garden which we were lucky enough to eat from most days. Fresh eggs too! Amazing to watch the alpacas venture out and feed of an evening(they like to hang out under the tree for most of the day), they just need their water topping up daily - all of our encounters with them were friendly! So many amazing walks nearby. Friendly neighbours (especially opposite!). Beautiful setting, lovely friendly hosts, good communication. Don’t hesitate to sit for these guys, we’ll be back if we get the chance.
We had a lovely time caring for Maggie and Lucy, aka 'the girls' in Robyn and Kyle's beautiful bungalow home. While Maggie took a few hours to warm up to us, Lucy was all love and licks right away. It didn't take long for Maggie to realize we were the food providers, and she quickly came around for some pets. Overall, the girls were fun and easy to care for, showed us around the trails in the neighborhood, and got along great with other dogs we met while out on walks. Robyn and Kyle were excellent communicators, left us clear instructions, and did a great go over of everything before they left. We felt confident, comfortable, and supported in their cute, bright, and welcoming home.
