Peter and Glenda made us feel extremely welcome straight away. Their home is beautiful and clean and you can easily get about via bus. Both the cats are very sweet, and Louie in particular loves a cuddle. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them! Thank you to you both.
Scott's house is beautifully designed - very modern, and felt wonderfully, comfortably European to me in its fixtures and furnishings. So many wonderful floor-to-ceiling windows, wood floors with beautiful area rugs, glass shower enclosures and a bathtub for TWO!!!, a kitchen extraordinaire!!!, a screened-in porch, a hottub on the large deck, and views of mountains. Oh...and lots of light switches!! - chuckling, as the switches were indeed plentiful and unique - all with dimmer ability and an interesting touch plate. It is also possible to turn off the wifi connection at night with just a switch and to turn off all electricity in the master bedroom so as to experience sleeping free of all electrical influence. If you have the chance to be there in the full moon as I did, oh my!! The moon comes directly in so many large windows - so enjoyable and wondrous. The house sits on many acres; no neighbors in sight, but close enough if needed. So very quiet....no traffic noise! Only a few miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Several miles to town, yet only a few miles from the house and on the way to town is one of my favorite food trucks - Well Bred Bakery - amazing treats, sweets, salads, lunch/dinner foods. You think you are kind of out in the middle of the country...and then there is this food truck!! The cats are quite sweet. One petite; one larger; and both liking lap time - they get along well. It was cute to watch them negotiate sharing my lap! They love going back and forth between sunning on the deck and sleeping on the couch cushions. Easy to care for. A good housesit for peace and quiet and for exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway and nearby Asheville and Weaverville.
Loved sitting for Piper and Erika! Erika was super kind and helpful and Piper was so well behaved and sweet! Great location in south Austin too. :)
Had a lovely time with Jazz and Pluto. Great companions, walk, rest or play. Enjoyed the area thoroughly. Love the cow bells, the views and the regular exchange of 'bonjour' from fellow walkers. My hosts were a delight. Very helpful before, during and after my stay. Hope we meet again.
Bertie Bear is my latest love. He followed me like a shadow and a very obedient shadow too, an absolute joy to be out with. Mr Kinks, the seemingly condescending cat, accepted us rapidly and allowed a bit of loving going his way. With Bertie in constant attendance, we fed the horses, Fizzie & Bean, in the nearby field, went for tramps around the countryside (rather muddy at this time of year) and enjoyed chatting to the various people we met along the way. Penny and Chris, our hosts in this large and very comfortable country house, were great at corresponding and generally 'being present' just in case. Very gracious and welcoming, we felt very much at home very quickly as Penny also left very detailed instructions. The nearby market town of Sherborne is a little gem, full of quirky cafés and odd shops, picture postcard pretty even in winter. All in all, a lovely stay, thank you Penny and Chris.
Tiago is a very sweet dog who got along great with my dog. Jo’s home is very comfortable and I had everything I needed as well as a great time taking care of Tiago. There are several nearby trails to enjoy and wildlife to see in this awesome forest neighborhood! Jo has been very accommodating and I’d recommend any sitter to come and take care of Tiago.
