I think I have found my dream sitter :) We had arranged that Sentella would arrive earlier to learn the care regimen for my diabetic cat. Unfortunately, old age caught up with Honey before Sentella arrived, but Sentella came anyway, as planned, and took a few days to settle in, while dealing with jetlag and lost luggage with far better grace than I would have. She was also very gracious about my husband changing our travel plans (twice!) without warning, for which I remain very grateful. There were some issues while we were away (just normal "**** happens" stuff, nothing to do with Sentella), that she took in her stride, and dealt with after checking in with me. I appreciated her no-fuss, no-drama attitude, and was really able to relax while we were away. We arrived back to two very chilled pets, who were moderately pleased to see us, which sounds odd but is high praise indeed - no frenetic "save us!" greeting, no sulking, just "oh, you're home - nice to have you back" :D They had fully settled with Sentella, judging by the update pictures I received, and this was undoubtedly the most relaxed Clara has ever been with a stranger, which speaks volumes. The house was exactly as we had left it, and I particularly appreciated not finding dirty dishes and burnt-on food left on the cookware. Honestly, if I hadn't know she had been there, I wouldn't have known anyone had been there at all :). Our houseman (cleaner/gardener) also gave her the thumbs up - I suspect he got to take a little vacation during Sentella's stay, as there doesn't seem to have been much for him to do. I would love to have her back to sit for us again, and have no reservations at all in recommending her wholeheartedly to others.

Rosie & Richard
We had a lovely time looking after Poppy. She is very sweet, enquisitive and likes a cuddle from time to time. She was easy to care for as she has a cat flap and just her dried food and water topping up each day. Rosie and Richard are very friendly hosts and obviously good cooks as we had some delicious apple and celery soup and homemade bread for our lunch when we arrived. Their home is set in a beautiful setting with lots to see and do. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable. There was a cold snap whilst we were staying but the house was cosy and warm. We would highly recommend this sit and would be very happy to sit again and have more Poppy cuddles.

Margaret
This sit of Monnie’s cat Fleure in Roubia was absolutely delightful. Monnie (Margaret) was very communicative about everything that I needed to know. She has intelligence, a lot of experience, wisdom and particularly, an excellent sense of humor. Her persona lightens up everything. I so much appreciated her picking me up with my bicycle, first in the rain, from the train station in the neighboring town of Lézignon-Corbières. With a bicycle, I was able to ride to there (L-C) in about 20 minutes to grocery shop. There’s also a market and pleasant cafe/restaurant right in the town of Roubia, which is bustling with locals daily. The proximity of the Canal du Midi was interesting in itself, because of all the different people who pass through, docking overnight in their boats in Roubia. There are lakes around and great bicycle rides along the canal.

However, nothing was more wonderful than the cat Fleure. Fleure was immediately affectionate, rubbed against my leg upon my arrival as a greeting. I came to really love this little ball of affection. Fleure purrs upon just being approached, before even touching her. I would invite her to sit on my lap at various times which was adorable. I promenaded with her as well. She was my companion. She’s an intelligent cat that has her routine. Typically she sleeps on her pillow during the day, and goes out in the evening. She’s quite a talented huntresse as well; I saw all sorts of local living entities that she caught. I simply love this kitty and enjoyed watching her behavior.

The town or Roubia is quaint. What was especially fascinating was being there to see the skies and streets full of Swallows. I learned that these birds are migratory, and I just happened to be there when they were nesting and passing through in the spring. They screech through the streets, very vocal, and bring life to the ancient walls. Monnie’s humor stays with me, and I appreciate everything about the sit and her generosity.

Katy
Katy and Mark were amazing hosts, starting with picking me up at the airport and cooking a dinner that met my special dietary needs. They were so kind and generous, and their home is charming and cozy with a gorgeous garden. It's in a great location close to attractions yet in a quiet & safe neighborhood.

And the pets! Ernie is a total charmer - so adorable, sweet and well-behaved. He is a delight to be around, easy to walk either on or off leash and always game to go. I fell head-over-heels for that boy - he just melted my heart! Tommy the cat is a sweetie too and will take all the head scratching, petting and brushing you want to give him.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking care of this duo and highly recommend it.

Isobel and Neil
Thank you Isobel and Neil we thoroughly enjoyed our sit, caring for Roo and Prim. They are fantastic well behaved dogs, and we had a lovely time with them. Your communication before and during the sit plus maps/info left was perfect and we really appreciated the delicious home baked bread and scones!
We would happily return.

Jill
This was a very special sit. Kiri, the Burmese cat, is totally adorable. Jill the owner had explained to us about Burmese cats, how they are very people-oriented and need cuddles and company. She was so right and Kiri is very easy and a total pleasure to look after. She sometimes needs medication for her eye and, if she does, she doesn't fuss. The house was beautiful, very clean and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could wish for especially the fully equipped kitchen. We particularly liked the terrace with it's west-facing view where we would sit for a glass of wine and watch the sun set. The house is set in the country, very quiet and peaceful with great views of the countryside around. If you feel moved to leave the house (you may not it is so easy to stay in in comfort with Kiri for company), there are many interesting villages and towns around to visit. Great walks also for walkers. This is duck country and you can find great places to eat magret and foie gras as well as black pork and other regional specialties. The food in this area is definitely an attraction. Jill and Peter made us feel totally welcome, explained everything, made us comfortable. They were exceptional hosts. This sit could hardly have gone better and we highly recommend it.
