We had a marvelous time house and petsitting for Celia and John. We met them a day before they left and they had notes and information for every eventuality. Consequently we felt totally comfortable right from the start. Their parrot, Biscuit, was very friendly and loved having head and neck scratches and rubs. The mighty Ruby (all 4.7 lbs of her) is a sheer delight. She almost made it back to our home in our luggage! We loved Reno and its surrounding countryside. I highly recommend this housesit if you are fortunate enough to be invited.
Both dogs were well trained and fun to spend time with. Kaiya loves to talk and II enjoyed figuring out what she was trying to say; she’s very smart! Loki was laid back and a gentle giant. They have clear routines and were good company. The bed was comfortable and the house was clean; this was a smooth sit!

This was such a wonderful and memorable house-sitting experience. Karen and Steve are excellent. They are very easy to get along with and the communication was great and super friendly all the way through. Teddy, their dog is an absolute sweetheart and quite the celebrity about town! He is very adaptable and as Steve says he really does “love the one he’s with’. I miss his sweet company! Navi the younger cat is cute and playful, together they followed me everywhere around the house and we became the 3 amigos. Navi and Teddy slept with me every night which was so special, they made me feel very welcome! The evening walks with them both were the most magical part of each day. Ebey the older cat is also very sweet and independent. She doesn’t need much except some fresh food, clean cat litter, and an occasional stroke if 'she' feels like she needs it :-) The house is beautiful and the guest bedroom is super spacious and comfortable. The bed is heavenly and there is a huge TV for those moments to do nothing but snuggle with the pets. Walking around the area is very safe and peaceful and I felt like I quickly got to know so many of the friendly neighbors. It’s a great place! Highly recommended.
Karen is the perfect host. She made us immediately comfortable, welcoming us the day before her departure with a delicious meal. And offering us a multitude of snacks and provisions for the duration of the sit. Her home is very comfortable, with an amazing view of the Intercoastal, and the ocean. And what can be said of Kona and Oscar. They are the most adorable dogs, always ready to be pet and loved their cuddles. Thank you again Karen for everything, for your kindness and rapport, and immense hospitality. We definitely recommend this sit and would be thrilled to return another time
We loved caring for River and Bink, two very lovely kittens. Alex and Phyllis were very welcoming. They were kind and they made us feel at home. They explained everything clearly and were easy to communicate with, about the house and pets but also Scottish culture and geography and much more. Phyllis had prepared a wonderful welcome guide but also a guide of the area (which is lovely). They even let us use their bikes, which was much appreciated. It was easy to care for the cats, they were a bit shy but opened up progressively, which was very rewarding. We miss them already! We completely recommend caring for Bink and River at Phyllis and Alex's :)
