Andrea was the dream House-sitter for our first time. We only recently joined TH and have been finding our way, we were nervous about what to expect. We have never left our dogs or home with anyone that wasn’t family or a close friend before, and Andrea has given us so much confidence that when you are honest and upfront on your listing, then find the right match, it works! From her application to completing the sit, Andrea was amazing. She is so warm and easy to chat with, organised, communicates clearly and stays in contact. Andrea was happy to arrive the night before we left, she was able to meet our dogs and we felt we could do a handover that wasn’t rushed. She sent us WhatsApp updates, our dogs looked so happy and relaxed in her company. She clearly loves animals and was wonderful with our older girl and our rather mischievous younger cockapoo. In fact, when we got home, our cockapoo was following Andrea around and not us! Praise indeed. Our home was immaculate, our dogs were happy, Andrea had even prepared us lovely meal for the evening we came home. We had invited her to stay an extra night because that fitted with her onward plans and we had a super evening, chatting over the delicious food she kindly made for us. Andrea is a lovely person, genuine, such good company and trustworthy. We met through this App, but have no doubt we will stay in touch as friends!

If Ana happens to apply to any of your dates, confirm her sit as soon as possible! I know it's easier to just post 5 stars for sitters, but this one is truly legitimate. We lost one of our last two herd goats just before Ana came, leaving one very senior goat on his own. I went back and forth between traveling and canceling to stay with him and figure out his best options. The trip was critical to make and with Ana's assurances, I left for two weeks. My little had the best companionship, the best care, very attentive eyes on him, and was never alone for too long, helping him to adjust to his new normal. This platform is great for people to travel and visit new places; however, animal care often comes in second for the explorer as they enjoy their new surroundings. Ana found the way to enjoy time for herself yet keep animal care as her priority. My senior pup loved having Ana's little senior pup, Peanut, in the house. When I come home from traveling, I can tell in an instant if my animals were satisfied with their care, and these two were happy little campers! Sadly, our summers include wicked wildfires. We had one break out within 2 miles of the house--on the day I was traveling coast to coast. When I landed and spoke with Ana, thankfully the fire was under control and evacuation was not required; however, she already had contacts established for transport for my goat and she had the car packed with all she would need for their care should evacuation been necessary. Having a wildfire that close to your home is completely unnerving, especially when you are not home. It took some time for me to settle my nerves but it was NOT because I lacked confidence in Ana. Her communication was fantastic. Again, explorers often say they will send updates daily or send photos and then they go MIA periodically. Ana sent me daily updates, as I had requested, and sent photos. I could tell by their energy in the photos that all was well. We really didn't know how my senior goat would do on his own and with someone new. Ana and Pippin quickly became tender friends and he felt safe with her. Pinkie pup loved all of the attention she got. This is a long review but it is important for me to write it. We all put a lot of trust in the person coming in to our homes and caring for our littles while we are away. On some level, we have to surrender and trust all will be well upon our return. This is the first time I can say that I could focus on the difficult task that requires me to travel and not have a constant worry running in the background. Personally, it has been lovely getting to know Ana. She is a very kind, compassionate, and generous person. She has keen eyes when it comes to all the details and the sweet care we hope to receive for our littles. And we really really hope she wants to come back for another visit!

Benji is a high-energy dog and really needs to walk and run, which makes for a good life balance to our sedentary life style when we need to work at the computer. I enjoyed the long walks and his playful nature that brings so much joy. The bonding was easy as he is incredibly smart and responsive, it was a real pleasure to care for him!

I had an unforgettable time in Klingnau, the surrounding and mostly with Mo. He is the cutest cat ever and I’m so in love with him. My little shadow during my time in Jason and Masni’s amazing home. The apartment is in a league of its own, which made working remotely a pleasure - especially with Mo as my colleague during the days.

Jason met me in Baden the first day, he took a break from work and followed me to the apartment. Such a great guy! Really enjoyed our conversations and the communication we had before and during the sit. I felt so welcomed and appreciated, which I’m really grateful for. He even sent me a long list of stuff to do, places to visit and lots more during my time in Switzerland - phenomenal!

A recommendation for foreigners who travel to Switzerland: Buy the half fare card in the SBB app, it is really good to have if you want to get around a lot and of course you want to! They have a superb public transportation system, expensive but worth it.

Fingers crossed that I’ll get the chance to go back to Mo and Klingnau. My separation anxiety peaked when it was time to leave and I miss Momo a lot already ❤️

Barb
This is a trifecta 5+ STAR REVIEW!! Person, pet and home. All beyond outstanding! Does not get better.

Will start with Barb. Instant friend! Actually feels more like family than friend. So so so special! There are people you meet in life for the first time that feel like you have known them forever... that is Barb! Can't really say more. Friends for life!

Barb's home is spectacular. Super comfortable (including a hot tub with an ocean view), super clean and super peaceful. We've been in far bigger and far grander homes, but this home and setting is in reality all we would ever want. And the views... PRICELESS!! Plus if you have ever visited Port Townsend and surrounding areas, it is a deer haven. Almost feels like a petting zoo at times (that is how adjusted the deer are to being around humans). It is a MUST experience!

Now the reason for our visit.... CHARLIE!!! This sit was following another sit in Port Townsend with two King Charles Cavaliers. So we can now say that "we get it". This breed has a real following for good reason. The best personalities, super cuddly, smart and just all around great companions. And dare we say, Charlie may have even surpassed all of those given traits. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this little guy. Heartbreaking to leave him, but the good news is that he is still a "baby". Lots of years to revisit him (and Barb).

If dates come up (meaning we are unavailable)... apply fast! And bring your "A GAME".
