Sarah and Gerald are lovely people who were very kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We both very much enjoyed looking after their three dogs and seven chickens and, of course, staying in their very comfortable home which has a great kitchen that's well equipped for all cooking and baking eventualities. There are a number of footpaths through the surrounding fields that are very close to the house, all of which are great for walking the dogs, etc. If you have the opportunity to housesit for Sarah and Gerald, we'd highly recommend you doing so.
We had the best time sitting for Kim and Tom and spending time with Gracie and Dexter. If you are fortunate enough to get the chance to be welcomed into their world - do it! We spent one evening with them before they left, which was great - they were clear, open and made everything super simple in terms of house and dog care. The two dogs are the sweetest little 4 legged friends - Dexter is a boys boy, loves his Dad so needed lots of extra love whilst he was away. Gracie is very, VERY sweet, she absolutely stole my heart - she became my shadow. She’s deaf so needs a bit of extra support and love and has some funny little quirks, and she’s a great companion. The home was fab - beautiful, well equipped, no issues! The neighbours are just the best, welcoming, helpful, the list goes on. This was one of our favourite Housesits yet and we’d love to return one day.
We had a wonderful sit in High Ellington, looking after Pepper and Lola, two very different and yet very complementary and easy to care for dogs. Pepper is very friendly and loves her cuddles, and Lola is also friendly and attached herself to me, very loyal and affectionate! Unfortunately we were unable to meet Helen & Paul, but their son William was very welcoming and showed us around the beautiful old stone farmhouse. Communications with Helen & Paul, before and during the sit were easy and efficient. The house itself was large and very comfortable with several options for seating areas. The local village was delightful with several walks, and pretty areas to visit. We recommend this house and pet sit, and we would surely return and do this sit again if the opportunity arises! We had a wonderful sit here. The communication beforehand was great; Ian provided us with a lot of information, via e-mail and also in the welcome guide. Maisy is an absolute dear, she immediately adopted us and we felt very welcome. Every morning she would come to the bed, bringing a shoe or sometimes a sock - she's such a happy dog that you wake up with a smile! Cookie is also very friendly. At first, I thought he's one of the cats that only come in for food. Indeed, he does spend much time out and about, but he's also very cuddly and we spent quite some time together on the sofa. :-) The hamster was easy to care for. The house is great, too - and Ian allowed us to use their bikes, so we could do some exploring by bike. Since we had troubles with the car on our way to Italy and only some of it was fixed, we were happy to leave the car in front of the house and take the bikes all week. Florence is only about 7km away and you can get there rather quickly - the way home takes a bit longer since the house is on a hill. We had at least 36 degrees every day - we ended up pushing the bikes uphill all the time. Maisy doesn't like the heat either, so we mostly walked in the mornings and evenings. One evening I tried to run (not walk) with her but it was clear that it was still too hot for that. I had to agree, of course - that's not my type of weather, either... Apart from the heat our stay was excellent and we are very grateful to Ian for trusting us with his house and his pets. We had a great time and it was hard to say good-bye to Maisy and Cookie!
We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the most beautiful Obi & Cosmo. Their characters are adorable, loving and very friendly. When we were out in the wonderful gardens (with fantastic views) and you called their names, Obi & Cosmo would come running through the gardens towards you. ❤️They would also often follow you around the gardens too. We loved it when they did this. Jenny and Chris were so friendly & helpful with the information required for the sit. Their welcome pack also included lovely suggestions for visiting local attractions. One was the beautiful Alderly Edge walks. Highly recommended! Already missing Obi & Cosmo. We would love to sit again! 🐾❤️🐾
David and Pam are amazing human beings! We absolutely adored them and their dogs - Cinnamon & Weston. Both pups have contrasting personalities that compliment each other that have provided memories moving forward. I highly recommend and hope to see them again when we are in Texas!

Veronica is a dog whisperer! She looked after my German Shepherd for a week and when i took him back he was totally chilled, had learned new training and walked so much better on the lead! She treats the dogs like her own and clearly loves her job. Cant recommend her highly enough!

Have nothing but high praise for John and Jane and staff who looked after our doggies Babes and Brodie when were in Scotland on a break. They were only in for one day. Brodie is a typical Border Collie and can be unpredictable at times. My partner was a little concerned as she has never left her doggies in daycare before. She was over the moon that he'd been really well behaved and is welcome back anytime. We will use Happy Mutts again in the future. Thanks everyone!
I cannot recommend Happy Mutts strongly enough. We came to John and Jane for 14 years until our Wee Man passed away. He was always looked after well and was treated as part of the family all the time. He loved going up to them on his holidays. Thanks for all you did for us.
An outstanding couple who really look after dogs fantastically. John and Jane have looked after our dog for 6 years now and we would always go back to them. She is taken in as part of the family, so are we when dropping off and picking up. She always comes back happy, healthy and content. Cannot trust Happy-Mutts to walk the dogs for the hour they charge for. I have proof that some days my dog was only walked for 15 minutes, and yet they charge for an hour. They also do not walk the dogs at the time scheduled. One example is my dog was meant to be walked between 12-1 and they turned up at 10.10 and I hadn't even left the house. I have spoken to other previous customers who all had the same problems, and yet it still continues, despite complaints. I have emailed about this, but it has been ignored.
Called to ask about dog walking and was told they would call back. They did not. Called them the day before I needed a dog walker and was told they couldn’t help. Really left in the lurch. Pretty unprofessional. Would not recommend

Our dogs have been coming to Paw Prints since they were pups. Paw prints is a second home to our dogs’ & our boys always love going, I’m sure for all the long country walks & all the animal loving staff who work there. We have our dogs in for doggy day care and also for overnights too, which is always accommodated (us usually last minute requests by us!) We can’t rate paw prints any higher!
Brilliant place for piece of mind for your dogs all shapes and sizes to be well looked after and cared for with the experienced friendly staff here. Dog get walked well in the farm fields. Unfortunately my two wee dogs got kennel cough here. Even though I had them kennel cough vaccinated but it's just one of them things I suppose...

If you like your dog outside running in the fields and splashing in muddy water with other dogs then this is the place for it. All staff are extremely caring, helpful and enthusiastic. We have used them for overnight and day care and found these kennels to be excellent.
Great doggy day care. Fabulous location. Staff who really care. Best thing is our dog gets to share a kennel with a variety of other dogs which is so important for socialisation with other dogs and also all the different people who drop off and collect. It doesn't get better. Our dog goes because she loves it!
Love these kennels. These are people who really understand dogs and have such a unique way of doing things. I picked Ziva up just as they came back from a walk one day and she was covered in mud from running around the field but normally when I pick her up slightly later she is nice and clean as they do wash them after walks. And even though she had not yet been washed she did not have that nasty kennel smell. And no, it is not squalid as someone else commented, the kennels are nice and clean and heated at night but the area around it can be rather muddy as it is on a farm and it is in Scotland....it rains a lot. I feel totally at ease leaving my dog at Paw Prints, she is well looked after and gets socialised which she really needs.
My daughter took her dog with her to sus the place out as she needs to put her dog in kennels for a couple of weeks, she seemed well impressed by the facilities and the freedom the dogs have.
Dropped my dog off for one nights stay, She was not left where I asked her to be, I asked for her to be left in the small concrete cells as she is a timid dog you moved her to the loud over crowded cell. You did not feed her the right amount of food, you over her fed her by two portions so did not listen when you asked me about my dog and her needs. You allowed her bed to be ruined by not drying her off after her supposed 'long walk' therefor the bed was damp and stunk of dirt. When we picked her up her bone was left in a puddle of dirty water not with my dog which I retrieved myself. My first time leaving my dog in a kennels and I will not be doing it again. You pay £13 to lock you dog up in a dirty concrete box for 24 hrs. She has come out barking at other dogs which she has never done before. I reccomend you dont rely on the 5* reviews of any kennel especially this one.
Absolutely the best decision we made getting Jemina to walk our fur baby. Our old dog walker was great, but he was walked on his own and on the lead. We noticed though he just wasn’t a happy boy and wasn’t excited about his walks. He now sits at the door and goes nuts when he sees Jemina, as he knows he is getting out to play with his furry friends. He is happy, safe and now loving his walks. We get updates on her Facebook page and can see how happy he is. Highly recommend Jemina x

I bought my retriever Milo to fife doggy home care last week for a trial walk. I get quite nervous to leave him anywhere as he is a bit anxious around new settings/ people. From the moment I dropped him off he was confident and comfortable and obsessed with Jemima. When I returned for pick up after the walk he hardly wanted to leave (slightly offended 😂). Jemima is a natural, well informed and calm dog walker. Whilst out dog walking with Jemima I've observed her interaction and friendly nature with all dogs. The walk is all about the dogs as she focuses on each individual dog and their surroundings and can call them to heel, when necessary, to keep them safe. Jemima is confident, patient and fun to be around especially with dogs.

Just Picked up my two happy boy's, who clearly enjoyed the wee holiday at Puddledub Kennels. The guys at the Kennels are very friendly and helpful and clearly they all love dogs as my Two Springers Albert and George were happy to be with them all. Kennels are clean and tidy and all dogs are well looked after. This was the 1st time ever leaving our dogs in Kennels and I would definitely use puddledub kennels again. The first time we've used Puddlebub Kennels, very good impression. When we dropped him off and picked him up, there was plenty of staff around to help, all of them very friendly. He'd obviously had a good experience as he was his usual happy cheerful self when we picked him up. Will use again for sure.

Anne and Ewan checked in on our indoor cat while we were getting married over a weekend and they were brilliant. Annie & Ewan have been walking our two dogs since they started, and they recently had them for a week while we went on our our first foreign holiday in years. Annie & Ewan have built a great relationship with our two, who can be challenging at times being rescues, so we had no qualms about leaving them there. We got daily updates and photos which put our minds at rest, and it is clear that the dogs love both the walks and staying over. Highly recommend them for their friendly, personal, caring approach, they are clearly dog people first and foremost.
Annie and Ewan have looked after our cat in our home a few times. Their service is superb. The updates of how she is getting on together with photos/videos is a great touch and loved by all of us. We will definitely be booking their services the next time we go away.
Our puppy went for a 4 night stay at Loch Leven Petcare and i felt so reaussred as the communication from them was great prior to her stay and whilst she was there, even sending lots of pictures. Annie and Ewan reassured us and kept us updated with pictures of Harry, when he stayed while we were on holiday. Even his yucky raw food was not a problem. He is a big dog and his tail can be quite a weapon, I understand he is a lot to take on and I over fuss but he genuinely seemed happy staying there, I was reassured by their experience of dogs.
No hesitation in recommending Loch Leven Petcare. From my initial enquiry they were professional but friendly too. I was looking for a week long holiday home for our young Cavapoo. They offered a couple of 'practice' nights away which put both me and my dog at ease. In fact my dog was obviously excited to be back when I dropped her off! I know they looked after her well, keeping her busy with walks and playtime. The updates and photos while we were away were an added bonus. I will definitely be using Annie and Ewan again.
We were looking for dog boarding for our dog Millie at short notice and over the Christmas period. Ewan and Anne were recommended to us on a Facebook community group and when we got in touch we found they were very helpful and friendly. They cared for Millie like she was their own and sent us plenty of updates and photos during her stay. We now use Loch Leven Petcare for regular walks and we couldn't be happier with the service. They even have a tracking tag they use on Millie's collar, so they can show us on a map how far she has ran on her walk! If you love your pet, you'll love these guys!
Had read some great reviews on the local community page and got in touch with Annie and Ewan. They replied very promptly with links to the forms we needed to fill in for Jack and Finn. What was so brilliant though was that they wanted to meet our dogs in their own home to get an idea of what they were like. Both Annie and Ewan spent a lot of time playing and talking to our boys, Ewan even sat on the floor whilst Finn jumped all over him. The boys had a great time and we were both so delighted that they were with a couple who really loved dogs. Already planning their next stay - Highly recommend...
We left Nellie with Annie and Ewan while we went to a wedding. It was our first visit to the area and we were a little concerned about leaving her, especially as she has not been left since the first lockdown. We needn’t have worried. We got updates about how she was settling and pictures. She got walked and cuddled and we are hoping to leave her again on our next visit.
Tracy has been a valued part of our dog’s life for over four years since he was a puppy. Firstly as a member of her puppy training classes, a few one to one sessions, and now he joins her group walks twice a week. We trust her implicitly with him, and equally importantly, he just adores her and waits excitedly by the window to wait for her. We never have any worries whilst he is in her care as Tracy has always been extremely reliable and often gone over and above to provide an excellent service.

She even bought her a new Kong ball when islay lost her original. She clearly has a passion for what she does and is extremely professional and capable. Would highly recommend Julia to look after your dog. She looked after our puppy for 4 weeks and will definitely be sending Lexie back to her when we go on our next holiday. She sent us regular photos and updates and kept us informed when Lexie had a mild reaction to some salmon oil. Lexie had an amazing time with her and would love to go back! 10/10.
I would highly recommend Julia to everyone who loves their dogs. Julia was looking after my dog for a couple of days and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. I have been receiving regular updates about Lexi and photos from her daily activities. Knowing that Lexi was so well looked after allowed me to enjoy my time away from her. Lexi came back home very happy too. Julia is amazing in what she is doing and you can see all dogs loves her too.
Our beagle x Luna has now stayed with Julia 3 times and I now wouldn't think of placing her anywhere else whilst we go away. Luna has been to kennels once and it was completely the wrong situation for her but now we have found Julia we no longer worry if she's OK. We have just got Luna back after a 5 night stay and she is a very happy doggy. After her stay in kennels last tear she was very different with us and had developed some bad habits. Now when she goes to Julia's she is dragging us to her door and is still the same dog upon return. This time she didn't even notice we had gone, she ran off to play immediately. Julia sends us updates everyday, letting us know she's getting the best care. Luna is treated like one of Julia's own, Luna adores her. You won't find a better place for your fur baby than with Julia.
This is the 3rd time I’ve left my Kobe with Julia. It was my first time leaving Kobe so I was very anxious. From the very start , Julia put me at ease and she took Kobe for a few sleepovers before we left him for his holiday. Julia, is absolutely fantastic, I feel totally content when I leave Kobe with Julia. It’s just home from home. She is so good to him, he gets loads of walks, attention and snuggles. Her own dogs are absolutely adorable 🥰. Julia, keeps me well updated, she sends me loads of pics and videos which I absolutely love , he always looks so happy and getting these just makes my day. I highly recommend Julia, I wouldn’t leave my Kobe with anyone else now. Thank you so so much Julia for being so kind and caring to my baby boy and looking after him so well for us! I was attending a wedding and needed a dog sitter (I live in Cheshire) Julia was recommended to me and she did an excellent job looking after my 10 month old pup, who can be a bit timid at times. He had an afternoon of fun and adventures. I loved getting photo updates of what he was doing. I would use Julia again if I needed her.

Barking Mad is an excellent service! I have used Barking Mad for a number of years for my dogs and I've never been disappointed. Our dogs have been very well looked after and when the van pulls up to collect them there is great excitement from them about going on holiday! Elaine and John are genuinely caring towards the dogs and we leave them feeling confident that they will be well looked after and have a great time! Thoroughly recommend.
I have been a Barking Mad Host and service user for almost 20 years. Elaine and John are the third owners I have worked with and not only are they lovely people, they are by far the most enthusiastic, committed owners of the service. Not only do they ensure dogs have a fabulous holiday in appropriate surroundings, they have developed a very caring community for the Hosts. All your lovely dogs are looked after so well in their holiday homes.
After a bad experience with dog care some years ago, I thought I would never go on holiday again – until I found Barking Mad. My pooch has some quirky habits which require particular care and attention – John and Elaine came to the house to meet him, took note of everything down to the smallest detail and found the perfect host who catered for all his needs. I went to visit my family in New Zealand and had heaps of text messages, photos and video showing my dog out on lovely walks, having lots of fun and looking totally relaxed. I have already booked my next holiday and have every confidence that with Barking Mad, my dog will receive the same care, attention and love that he gets at home. I can’t rate this organisation highly enough, they are simply the best.
I cannot recommend barking mad fife enough. When your going on holiday you want your furry friend to be looked after the same way you look after them at home. You want peace of mind and reassurance, this is exactly what Elaine and John provide. No detail is missed out and they cover absolutely everything with you in a 2 hour initial meeting before they board your dog. Our dog has joint issues which can limit some activities, this issue was 100% taken on board while our dog was in Elaine and Johns care. I think it’s important to know any health issues your dog may have will be looked after correctly. You’ll receive updates with photos when you are away- chances are your furry friend is also having a 5 star luxury holiday of their own! The service is second to none and worth every penny. I cannot rate Elaine and John highly enough.
Since we first used John and Elaine at Barking Mad to look after our Gordon Setter "Floyd" for six weeks in 2017 we would not consider placing him anywhere else. He loves going with them and has the time of his life running with the pack in the hills and swimming in the sea. While he's away we get regular pictures and videos sent so we can see how happy he is. We would have no hesitation recommending them even for long stays. Peter and Maureen.
Our last dog Trey, a ‘silver surfer’ was always looked after so well and loved his holibags with Elaine and John. He was a withdrawn guide dog who had bad arthritic legs who just loved people and we worried how he would be staying with others. We needn’t have worried as he loved every second and was always cared for to our exact needs regarding his food and medication. When we lost him our two new girls who are rescue labradors now go on holiday with them too. As I am now disabled it was a huge worry for me that if I had to do anything at short notice, who would look after my dogs? I am so lucky that Elaine and John have always gone the extra mile for me when I have needed care for the girls at very short notice sometimes so that this now is not an issue. If anyone is considering dog care I would say let your dogs go on holiday with John and Elaine. You can have total peace of mind to enjoy whatever you are doing in the knowledge that your fur babies will be having a blast with the best care possible and being treated as part of a family with all their home comforts.
This is a wonderful service, run and owned by 2 devoted dog lovers. Elaine and John are friendly, caring and very professional people, they ensure that you and your dogs safety, comfort any special needs are their main priority. We were extremely happy with every aspect of the service they provided, which allowed my Wife and I to enjoy our break/holiday away, knowing that our 'Kizzi' was safe and happy! Many thanks to you both and we will be using your service anytime we ever wish to go away, when we are unable to take Kizzi.
Excellent service provided by wonderful and devoted staff. Nothing is too much for them as in our case when our pooch has to go to the vets, as she does once a month, it is no hassle whilst we are on holiday. Her dog sitter is excellent as well and we know that the dog is being well cared for. Keep up the good work and I would recommend them to anyone.
Isla y loved her wee holidays with Barking mad. So much that she is jumping up to get into John's car.John and Elaine are fully committed to what they do. It is obvious they both love it. Once again I would like to thank John and Elaine for their exceptional service and dedication they gave us recently with Flora. Also cannot thank them enough for helping us out at such short notice for my father in laws funeral. Lynne,Alan,Emma and not forgetting Nugget are wonderful hosts. Flora came back bouncy, full of life and started eating without me having to remind her. Whenever Flora sees the bag and the car draws up to fetch her she cannot contain her excitement. Sarah looked after our little elderly dog, Vanilla. She was absolutely amazing. Vanilla just loved her. She really helped us out as we had a last minute request and she did all she could to accommodate us. I can definitely recommend her will make use of her service again in the future. Maryke
Sarah has been walking my dog Gaius for a few months now and she is absolutely brilliant! He absolutely adores her and looks forward to her walks every week! She is great at communicating and has been extremely flexible when needed! Would definitely recommend anyone needing a walker to get in touch and book Sarah!
Miriam looked after our Cavapoo puppy Max for a week. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough. We had regular updates on Max throughout the week who was well looked after and cared for. We had complete piece of mind during our holiday. Miriam was great to deal with, she also provided us with a lot of useful tips and suggestions with Max going forward. She is very knowledgeable about dog breeds in general. Brilliant service and Max will be back for his ‘pawlidays’ again soon 🐾

Honestly what a genuine lovely lady miriam is although she was fully booked on the dates I needed she went above and beyond with lots of helpful information moving forward, recommend advice she gave, the amount of time she took out her own day to talk with me reassuring me and going threw option I'm so grateful for. I would highly recommend her service based on our own chat for the last 2 hours nothing was a problem if anything I have gained knowledge/ understanding of my own wee dog this lady is hands down a lovely soul thank you Tanya x
I have been using Bespoke Home from Home Dog Boarding for many years - the first time was just after Miriam started it all! Border collie Mac was just a young dog then and he was always well cared for and given that extra special love and attention that you want for your special pet when you have to leave them. We have had 4 different carers over the years and all have been excellent. We now have two dogs, 2 border collies Mac and Midge, and whenever we leave them, we are confident that that they are in safe hands and that they will be cared for as you would care for them yourself at home. Sometimes, it is hard to tear them away and bring them home, they have had such a great time!! Thank you! :)
Unfortunately she couldn't board my dog, but she spent a lot of time with me trying to help me out. A very helpful lady who gave her time when she didn't have to.
Bespoke Dog Boarding was highly recommended to me by my vet. I telephoned the owner of the company and we had a detailed chat about my dog and his requirements, also his daily routine. I was most impressed by the owner of the company and can tell that she clearly is very knowledgeable about dog breeds in general. I was concerned that my dog who is a loveable middle aged lab, would be home boarded alongside, for example, a "Staffie" but after reading these other reviews, I am delighted to say that dogs who some may consider as potentially dangerous breeds would not be allowed to board with Bespoke Dog Boarding. This gave me peace of mind. I then met with one of the dog carers, who fell in love with my boy straight away and vice versa. The carers home and garden was beautiful. We spend over half an hour with the carer and played with my dog in the garden. I could see how happy he would be if he were to come here for his holidays. I have now used Bespoke Dog Boarding 3 times this year already as the service is fantastic. The dogs receive 3 or 4 lengthy walks each day, loving home comforts, constant companionship and I also received updates during my holiday followed by a selection of beautiful photographs after my holiday, showing Bailey having a super time with another 2 dogs from different families. When I collected him, he didn't want to leave!!!! I have now highly recommended Bespoke Dog Boarding to all of my dog friends. I would advise others to make a booking months in advance of your holiday as they are usually fully booked 6 months to a year in advance by all their regular clients. However I have sometimes asked for a short notice booking and if they have availability they will take Bailey. To the team of dog carers who may read this, thank-you for providing me with total peace of mind and I look forward to using your service for many more years to come.
Used Miriam for my dog Bailies 14 years at least three times a year and couldn’t fault her. She dosnt take dangerous breeds which I feel is a great thing as it is only for the safety of our own dogs . I can’t beleive the below negative posts when thease people have even used the company because they didn’t make it through the strict criteria . Well done Bespoke for not taking any dog just to make more money . Fabulous service and genuine dog lovers .

Murdo has been looked after by Colin & Mary on several occasions. His second home, I have no problem leaving him and know he'll be well looked after with lots of walks and cuddles.
