Jamie and Deirdre were great hosts! They made us feel so at home, offering us food and left over Christmas cake, as well as showing us how to use their fireplace for the cold winter nights. We had access to all streaming sites and felt super comfortable in their environment. Winter and Lilly were the stars of the show, they are exactly as described; big cuddle buddies. Of all the dogs we’ve looked after, these guys are impressively well trained and so easy to take out on walks. They have perfect recall, get lots of attentions from passers by, and basically professionals at playing fetch. As our first housesit they have given us lots of good advice and we hope to come back in the future if our calendars align! We cannot recommend them enough:)
You couldn’t find better hosts. Eke and Brian are friendly, kind, warm and welcoming. Communication was excellent. Their home is lovely and comfortable in a very quiet area where you can enjoy birdsong in the day and hear the calls of the loons, bullfrogs and coyotes in the night. Yet it’s not isolated as it’s in a nice neighbourhood about a 15 minute drive into town. Smokey is an absolute sweetie who will steal your heart. She loves her daily routine and will let you know when it’s time for feeding, playing, snuggles or bedtime. Five stars all around.
I definitely recommend housesitting at this location. A++ Katja is a seasoned member of Trusted Housesitters and is well prepared to welcome you with everything you need to make this a pleasant sit. Her Welcome Guide is clear and concise and she remains available to answer any question you may have during your stay. Her home is comfortable, clean and tidy; it is located in a safe and friendly neighbourhood. Tabby is a healthy, cuddly and chatty feline who has developed the uncanny ability to open doors (you will fall in love with this affectionate cat!). The hens will follow you around and even sit with you in the garden. Katja's home is surrounded by majestic trees, a well-maintained vegetable garden, and an abundance of flowers; the perfect setting for a relaxing stay! I felt privileged to have been given the opportunity of housesitting in such a serene environment, and would definitely be thrilled to return. Grateful and content, Lyne
Judy and Linda made us very welcome and we enjoyed chatting to them over dinner before they left the next morning. They left comprehensive instructions and ideas of places to visit. Their house was comfortable and in a lovely location. We would be very happy to sit again to explore the local area in slightly warmer weather. Khodi and Tom were a little shy at first but made themselves known after a little while and were great company. It was a pleasure to look after them.
We can't say enough good things about our stay in Fairmont Hot Springs. Nicola and Len were very welcoming, their home is an art gallery full of visual delights. This is rivaled by amazing vistas of the Rocky Mountains on one side and Purcell Mountains on the other. Finian and Pippa were icing on the cake. They led us up mountain paths, never tiring despite covering twice the terrain we did! They were lovely pet hosts treating us to snuggles and laughs. Both have unique and endearing characters. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Fairmont Hot Springs with Finian and Pippa. We miss them already!
Archie is a lovely little dog. I got on really well with him and enjoyed my stay in Ally and David's home. It might be helpful to have a car but the house is a 10 minute walk from the centre of the town.
