I had my first official house sit with Mike and Clare and could have not wished for a better place. They explained everything to me, showed me around, the animals are so nice and cute. I was able to stay a day longer when my departure was changed. Gravesend is a charming place and I am so happy that I was able to explore the area.
A highly enjoyable sit. Kate and her husband are lovely, the vast Edwardian[?] house is a gem of its period and the huge garden an absolute delight. Missy is the sweetest of cats and no trouble at all.
What an absolute sweetheart Astra was...you truly cannot help but fall in love with her. She would have to be undoubtedly the most active & alive cat we have ever been lucky enough to care for. She is just so much fun & literally talks to you & also communicates with her paws...tapping for more food or cuddles. As for Claire Astra is just a reflection of her "mum" as she is a wonderful, warm person who not only adores her little girl but all animals. She was also so generous & as it was Christmas had a Christmas tree for us, Christmas stockings & presents...it truly meant so much. What can we say about Claire's apartment ...wow what an amazing view of New York & what a fabulous location. The apartment was wonderful with everything you could possibly want including the biggest balcony, which in summer time would be fantastic.Transport was fabulous from there as you had a choice of the ferry, bus or subway. Anyone lucky enough to sit for Claire & subsequently for Astra will have a wonderful time.
We had an absolute wonderful time looking after Barbara's three dogs and two cats. We had great communications with Barbara in advance of the house sit. Barbara is an exceptionally kind and generous person with a heart of gold. She picked us up at the airport and made sure that we were comfortably settled in her large home before she departed. The guest bedroom and ensuite are newly renovated. The town of Hinterzarten is a picture-book spa-center in the Black Forest, with beautiful walking trails practically starting from the backdoor. The highlight of our sit were the delightful dog family of Pini, Frijo and Cookie, all international travelers in their own right, rescued from Spain, Thailand and Sri Lanka, and Barbara's two cats, Kalle and Mia. These are the most affectionate animals we have ever sat for, all with their distinct personalities, but all playful and loving with each other and with you. We had a wonderful time sitting for Gillian's lovely dogs Poppy and Daisy. We appreciated being able to meet Gillian the evening before, where she had prepared a welcome meal for us and made sure we had all the information we needed to care for her dogs. The house is quiet with everything we needed; the guest bedroom included a private en suite. We enjoyed spending time in the lovely garden playing with the dogs. There are plenty of local walks for the dogs along public footpaths including a lovely stroll along the River Lim into town or further out into the countryside. Poppy and Daisy were a easy to care for, well behaved, affectionate and full of fun.
I loved my time with Mac while his parents were away! He is a sweet, outgoing, playful cat that will entertain you for hours. I met Danielle before she left, and she was SO friendly - she made sure I was comfortable and had all the information needed about Mac and the house! Mac, Danielle and Gavin truly confirmed why THS is such an amazing platform. I would watch Mac any time again and recommend it to anyone :)
