A lovely Housesit, with two amazing cocker spaniels to love. A beautiful 500 year old thatched cottage with all the mod cons are available in the home. There is a choice of two bedrooms, one with an en suite. Both are very comfortable. The owners are fabulous and very hospitable. Plenty of lovely walks in the area, or straight out the front door.
Strange as I mentioned in another review the site and the app site do not seem to synch so my review is not visible on the main site. Had a lovely time looking after Mia and Rusina two complete temperature opposites. Went for hours walking with Mia, the best walk was all the way out to the lighthouse as I also got to see the ravens playing on the air currents along the seafront. But she absolutely loved and i really mean loved walks never saw her tire she was always happy and curious about what she saw and smelt along the way. She really shows her decent as a tough little mountain dog he could probably have carried on walking even after I stopped and thats no mean feat as I love long walks. And no problem with the cold so a true Tibetan Spaniel. And then we’d get home and it was Rusina’s turn. She was the opposite, she liked it to be toasty warm in the house and she was an absolute cuddle bug. She’s sidle in via the chair arm and slide down next to you so she’d be nestled in the crook of your arm and that’s where she was content to stay. She’d lay on the bed and snuggle down with you for the night (also u der the duvet). Mia would also be close so be prepared to sleep in the corner :) or on the edge against the wall. As Mia seemed to be missing her mum very much i arranged for her little friend from the house across the road to come and have a playing date. So I had two very happy little doggies diving through the house for an hour or so one evening. Rusina was NOT amused to say the least. Belinda was lovely. She came to pick me up from the bus station and we went out for some food as she was just finished with work. Really nice meeting her and i thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Mia & Rusina.
Thank you so much Tina and Jamie! We had great time staying in your amazing home with your awesome dogs. Let us know about any trips in future as we'd be happy to stay again! The views over the mountians were beautiful and we loved walking the dogs through the trees. Both dogs were very well behaved and great company throught. Tina and Jamie were very welcoming when we arrived and were responsive to any questions we had.
I recommend sitting for Mary-Lynne and Peter, and their lovely pets, Ollie and Pedo. Ollie may be the most affectionate dog I have ever met, always game for a hug and loving attention. He loves his walks as a bigger dog will and, being walkers and outdoors enthusiasts, this was just great by us. Especially he enjoyed running and sniffing off leash on the many trails surrounding Crofton. Pedo is a senior cat — she owns the home and carries herself like royalty about the place, simply expecting any strokes or attention her subjects wished to bestow upon her. Watching Ollie and Pedo together was a treat as she would lower her head for a lick and he would always greet her gently and lovingly. So enough about the pets! Mary-Lynne and Peter have the routines and information about the home and pets so thoroughly covered in their welcome guide that we barely needed to disturb their fantastic cruise (though I couldn´t resist sending photos and anecdotes of the pets). Lovely spacious home with plenty of room to stretch out, big TV for evening relaxation and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The town of Crofton has several acceptable restaurants for a change from home cooking. The Osborne Bay Pub has regular music nights, including a Sunday afternoon Jazz performance which was great. Duncan, 20 minutes by car, has a good market Saturdays, with food and other home made items as well as live music. The ferry goes to Salt Spring Island for those who wish to explore further afield. The pulp mill sometimes has a faint odour but most of the time it is not noticable. All in all a great 7 weeks — thank you, Mary-Lynne and Peter!
Jenny made us feel very welcome and Toby was a pleasure to look after. The location is perfect with views over the cove. We had a great time...thank you Jenny.
Definitely recommend! Penelope couldn’t have been nicer or more welcoming. She’s very laid back, kind and communicative. The cats are so sweet and very easy to take care of. And her place is in an amazing location by the beach - a super comfortable little spot! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
