Cat Sitters in Sunset Beach

Ruth and James were FANTASTIC--we just couldn't be happier with how they cared for our home and our girls. Our little Lucy, a senior pup with considerable anxiety, actually climbed in their suitcase as they were packing to leave. And our little Sophia, a senior cat who avoids almost everyone, actually spent time in the room with them--very unusual, and an indicator that they were calm and gentle. We got photos and updates every day, which gave us so much comfort and joy while we were away. In addition, our house cleaner and contractor met them and said they were lovely people. :) Thank you, Ruth and James! It'd be our pleasre to see you again.

I am so thankful I found Marguerite and Roy through this platform. They were exactly what I needed to feel at ease about leaving my slightly anxious pup while away for work. They took the time to stop in for a meet and greet before the sit, and that made all the difference as well. They kept me in the loop daily, with messages and cute little videos. I know Meg Ryan had a great stress-free time with them. My apt was just as I left it, and they went above and beyond to wash the sheets and towels, and made up my bed for me before they left. I can not wait to use them again, and hope we both have future dates that align to make that a reality!

Lauren looked after our cat Kona for 4 nights. I could tell from when she met him that she's a "cat person" and knows how to interact with them. He was very well looked after and loved during our trip. She was good with communication, sent us lots of updates and pictures. Our house was left clean and tidy. I highly recommend her for future sits.

Darell is a sweet person who loved both our dogs very well. She walked them twice per day and when one had a little loose stool, she slept on the couch with them to make sure she could open the door whenever Millie needed to go out through the night. It cleared up right away. Darell kept the house very tidy and clean, she washed and changed the linens on her bed, kept up with her dishes and touched up the bathroom before we returned. Darell is a generous person; she baked us cookies, crocheted us slippers and a topper for the foam doggie stairs up to our couch. She communicated well, asked questions when she needed too and sent us updates on our pups. I would recommend Darell to sit at your home and care for your pets and I would have her come to our home again.

Communication with Landi before the sit was smooth and efficient. She asked some good clarifying questions beforehand which helped me to feel confident she would be a careful and diligent sitter, and everything was spotless and extremely tidy when I got home. My two cats were also beautifully calm and unstressed, which is unusual after I have been away and which signals they felt calm and comfortable under Landi's care. Thank you Landi!

We really got lucky when we accepted Lauren after a relatively short video call. We met her after that (and before the sit started) when she made an effort to overnight our area so we could all get to know one another. She communicated extremely well, was warm yet professional, cared deeply and genuinely about our doggie (and about us!), and was a huge help and resource to a family that came to stay in our other home from overseas. It was their first time in S. Africa, and she did so much to welcome them, help them settle in, trouble shoot things in the home-- as well as in their travels. Lauren spent an additional 2 nights-- the first when we did not make it home on time due to flight cancellation, and the next when we finally got home, but it became too late to be on the road. These were ongoing last minute changes (more than one) and Lauren took it all in stride. Lauren also communicated health concerns to us about our dog, took her to the vet when she had a troublesome wound, and made sure she could comfortable get up and down the stairs with her arthritis. On walks, the stiffness is forgotten, and Lauren kept up so well on free range beach runs. She did not hesitate to take our doggie along to the cafe and to social events, and even got her some luxury birthday treats. We have other sits coming up, arranged before we met Lauren, and I can only hope they go so well. If not, I feel reassured that a back-up might be close by. Huge thanks to Lauren

Priyal was extremely well prepared and debriefed in detail all that was required for the week long sit well before hand. She gave our children an inordinate amount of love and care, sending cute cuddle videos and photos on a regular basis and ensured that their every whim was fulfilled (lucky Pushkin & Rossi!) I would not hesitate to use her again, my children absolutely adored her. Thank you Priyal!

They were such good pet sitters and home sitters! My cat is a bit scared of people and hesitant. They were patient and eventually she trusted them to jump on their lap and cuddle. This makes me so happy she was in their care and happy. They were self sufficient in my home and left it super clean. Had a nice chat and coffee with them after too! Lovely folks! Would have them here any time!

I can't recommend Cathleen as a pet sitter after my recent experience. Things started well with good communication, and I felt prepared to leave my home and pets in Cathleen’s care due to our regular communication and video chat. However, there were some issues that came up during the sit. On the morning I left, I had to explain how to lock my self-locking front door, which made me a bit concerned about her comfort level with basic tasks. I also gave a detailed briefing on my pets’ care, including Sophie’s walking schedule and the importance of regularly emptying Teddy’s litter box to avoid any odors. His urine goes outside the pan at times. Cathleen seemed to understand this. I later found out that Sophie wasn’t walked according to the schedule I provided. After reviewing my outdoor camera footage, I noticed that during the last four days of the sit, Sophie was walked 2-3 hours late in the mornings, and some days her afternoon walk was skipped altogether. During the sit, Cathleen told me how my bedroom rug smelled like urine. There were also a few mix-ups with communication while I was away. For example, when I offered to have a friend drop by if she needed to leave early the day the sit ended, Cathleen misunderstood and thought I was telling her she had to stay, which led to a bit of an awkward conversation. I ended up having to clarify things over the phone, which wasn’t ideal while I was on vacation. Cathleen also didn’t wash the linens she used, despite my reminder before I left and the instructions in the welcome guide. When she asked about a change of linens, I reminded her there was an extra set by the bed, but she later mentioned she hadn’t used the top sheet or blanket and didn’t think she needed to wash them. It felt like there was a bit of a misunderstanding about expectations. 4 days after the sit ended, Cathleen sent me a series of messages and photos about the state of the litter box, accusing me of not having cleaned it for weeks. This was surprising, as four different sitters had been in my home before her, all of whom kept the box clean. I cleaned and washed the litter box the night Cathleen arrived. I tried to explain that this was covered in our initial chat. Cathleen continued to send me messages even though I asked her not to. I eventually had to block her number and reach out to zeewoi for help. Overall, this sit didn’t go as smoothly as I’d hoped. While Cathleen seemed pleasant at first, there were a few issues that made me feel uneasy about the experience.

Tracy & Pieter were great with the guys - we came back to 2 tired and happy dogs and the house was all clean, neat and tidy: always appreciated! They kept in touch with updates, and dealt with any unexpected issues calmly and without fuss (Whistler has a lot of wildlife and terriers love to chase!). We would happily recommend them to anyone and hope we will see them again one day.

Neo was really wonderful with my pets and I so appreciate that. Both my dog and my two cats really took to her and felt comfortable and safe with her. I appreciate all Neo's help when my house unexpectedly flooded in a rain storm. I also appreciate Neo's honesty and directness - it makes for much easier communication. I wish her all the best on her travels.

Anthony and Jaclyn were fantastic pet/house sitters. This was the first time we have entrusted the services of zeewoi and it couldn't have gone better. From initial vetting of their application, asking lots of pertinent questions and clearly caring about the requirements of our situation, to a pre-meet the day prior to their stay and being very reassuring, we knew our home and pets would be in safe hands. They provided appropriate updates and were unafraid of asking relevant questions to ensure all went smoothly during their stay. They even offered to stay another night in case our late flight home was delayed (all went well here). Upon our return, our pets were clearly well looked after and our home was left in the same condition as we left it. They even laundered our bedding, which was highly appreciated! I would certainly have them back and can highly recommend Anthony and Jaclyn to anyone needing a trusty and reliable couple to look after their pets and home.
