We really loved our sit in this fabulous location in Norfolk in this beautiful home. Angela and Michael were very welcoming generous hosts. The dogs Teddy and Meshka are very loving boys who had a tough start in life but now are happily settled in their new home. They loved having cuddles on the sofa in the evenings. We had lovely daily walks from the house you are straight out on a public path bordering a field so this is very handy and a circular walk through the countryside. We also had lots of trips to Wells next the sea which is only a 15/20 drive . The beach is huge and excellent for walking and we also had the use of the beach hut which is very handy. I recommend this sit to people who are experienced with dogs because of having a poor start in life these dogs need extra love and attention . We kept them on a lead in the beginning but after a couple of days walked off lead and came back no problem, they were off lead on the beach around other dogs on their walks and were fine. They can be a bit barky and territorial around the hut but soon quieten down. We did leave them at home on one occasion for 3 hours and they were absolutely fine. But most of the time we preferred to take them out with us exploring. We would definitely go back to look after these lovely boys if dates worked out. Thank you Angela and Michael for inviting us to your home and it was a pleasure to look after Meshka and Teddy.
We loved house sitting for Shara and Andrew! The house and area are so beautiful, we enjoyed the walks in the forest and the mountain views! The animals were all lovely and a pleasure to take care of. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed spending some time with the family before and after they were away. Would definitely recommend :)
Frankie was an absolute angel. He took a little bit of settling in when we arrived, but once Jackie left, he was as good as gold and very affectionate. He has such a lovely temprement, and if you look after him, you're sure to fall in love with his big doe eyes. It should be known for future sitters that Frankie is only able to be left for 1 hour max, and Jackie wasn't comfortable with us driving him more than 10 minutes away from the house as he doesn't travel well. If you aren't a remote worker or planned to explore Perth with this sit, it would be worth bearing this in mind. In addition, Jackie expects very frequent updates approximately every 2-3 hours and would like you to run things you plan on doing with Frankie by her first. Despite loving Frankie, we did feel like the exchange in this sit was unequal. Jackie arrived back after midnight, and she expected us to stay up and let her in on her return, as there was only one set of house keys. Alongside this, her initial expectation was that we would be departing on her arrival despite the late hour. Although she did let us stay, the offer felt strained, leading us to feel unwelcome. This was exacerbated by her suggestion that we should leave earlier than 8am and asking us when we would be leaving as soon as we woke up. We felt like the care and affection we had provided Frankie with went underappreciated and that this interaction undermined the reciprocal relationship that trusted housesitters was set up to create. To add to this, we weren't thanked once for the care we provided Frankie, or for staying up to accommodate her late return home. We loved and adored Frankie, but we unfortunately can't say that we enjoyed this housesit. We hope that Jackie considers the nature of this website and that future housesitters are greeted more hospitably. We suggest that if Jackie is unwilling to do this, she hires a paid dogsitter in the future.
We are delighted to have stayed at Nico and Carlo's house, and to have taken care of Tosca, Yoda and Magic. Their pets are adorable, very educated and fun. Especially Tosca, with whom we shared several walks through the park, and we enjoyed her pool together, an activity that she loves and enjoys swimming with people. Clearly we are going to miss her company, but the journey continues. Thank you Nico, Carlo, Leo, Tosca, Yoda and Magic, for such a beautiful experience. We will miss you.
I had a wonderful stay with Ty and Lola. They are very sweet dogs and great cuddlers. We went to the nearby dog park and I gained big muscles throwing the ball and various sticks. The dogs are a treasure to be with and I miss their energy. The apartment is close to restaurants, the Ubahn and gorgeous parks. perfect location to explore the city. Matt is a prompt communicator and kind host. I highly recommend you apply to sit for Ty and Lola they will be forever in your heart.
We had the pleasure to house sit and look after Dora for Sheree & Mary for just over two weeks. Their home was very comfortable, organized and very clean. The neighborhood was safe and quiet, people in the area were very friendly. The house location was great, 15 minutes from downtown Austin and a few minutes to the grocery store, UPS, movies, lounge clubs, etc. Dora is a sweet inside cat who is not demanding, she chooses who and when she likes to socialize, you can tell that she appreciates your company by her purrs. Dora is low maintenance; the cat litter system is very easy and clean. I recommended this litter system to all folks who I know or see that have inside litter boxes. Communication with Sheree & Mary prior to and during our stay was always very responsive and clear.
