Its no secret that I love every carnivore to ever place a paw upon this earth, but Maccy the cat holds a special place in my heart! He plays the gracious host at Stud Farm, making you feel incredibly welcome and lavishing kisses and companionship whether you're enjoy roaring fires inside, the elegant sun terrace or romantic tree swing. He is also a perfect gentleman around 'the feathered ladies' - the hens who, with similar levels of generosity, bestow delicious eggs every morning and will become your faithful little shadows pottering around the garden if you let them! The house was immaculate with glorious country views from all windows, spacious, light-filled rooms and abundance of creature comforts so you don't just feel 'at home' but most marvellously spoiled as well! Rhian is an exceptional host for whom nothing was too much trouble. Communication flows easily and with genuine warmth, I just wish we'd had more time to meet in person. Everything was clearly explained and easy to work out and the guest room was very welcoming - complete with Maccy as Chief Bed-warmer! Some houses feel museum-like, other formal or, if you're really unlucky, carry a heavy atmosphere of gloom, not so here! Its a home properly lived in, bursting with family love, treasures from travels and interesting statement pieces. The town is just up the road, the neighbours are kind, nature walks start by the front gate and wildlife can be spotted in the fields. You'll adore house-sitting here. I'm almost reluctant to publish this review as then the 'secret will be out!' When you arrive though, don't forget to give Maccy a big kiss from me!
We were so lucky to house and pet sit for Tess and family! All details for the sit were very precise and Tess even made sure to leave some recommendations of lovely places in the area to visit. We were able to communicate easily with Tess and Ben if we had any questions and they were super helpful. Tougie is a treasure and so easy to take care of, we loved walking him in the beautiful surrounding areas and we’ll miss him lots. Thank you for choosing us to house and pet sit 😊
Hailey was a great communicator in the lead up to the sit and made sure I had all the information and equipment necessary to take care of lovely Lola. Lola is the cutest dog, she is very affectionate and easy to care for. I loved her cuddles! Hailey’s place is in a great location and very accessible by public transport. I would love to look after Lola again any time!
We met Rosie and Paul with their little daughter, you couldn’t meet a nicer friendlier family. Miso and Selkie were a little shy at first then they let us stroke them, both gorgeous cats with pleasant personalities. The house was clean and comfortable and they said for us to help ourselves to any food that was there. We would definitely go back and sit for Rosie and Paul again. The location was fantastic for traveling into central London and doing lots of sightseeing. Thanks again Rosie and Paul. X
Our thanks to Karen and Phaedra for sharing their home with us. Phae is a very loving and trusting cat in spite of her challenges. Karen has created a warm and safe home so that Phae can function independently. It’s a beautiful home in a fantastic location. We enjoyed some of the nearby walks and didn’t need our vehicle during our stay. We highly recommend this house sit to anyone that wants to visit Seattle.
I had a really great time looking after Moose for Shana. Moose is attentive and intelligent and requires a fair bit of attention- which makes him a real companion. It took him a while to warm up to me, but once I was in I was allowed to give pets. He can be quite protective, so a slow approach is required. The apartment is modern and well equipped in a great part of DC between the Wharf and Navy Yard. There’s a nice rooftop with a grill to use. Shana was responsive and detailed during the sit which was helpful. Thanks Shana! My favorite sit so far!
