We were so lucky to be able to sit for Louise and Richard; it was a last minute arrangement and we are so glad we did it! From the first video call and through messages during our stay, Louise was very friendly and helpful, putting us completely at ease. Having used THS before, Louise was obviously very well prepared for sitters: the house was immaculate, plenty of linen and towels provided, basic provisions available and a very clear list of instructions, helpful tips and other bits and bobs were left for us. When we arrived Louise greeted us very warmly and made everything very clear including how loved their family dog, Kasper, clearly is. He was, therefore, a delight to spend time with. Louise also helpfully labelled all the things we'd need (ie treat jars, bags, kibble...) so there was no confusion and no hunting around. Louise also very kindly left a parking permit for a stunning local beach and a tide timetable which was invaluable. This meant that Kasper got to enjoy beach days every day! It was so rewarding taking Kasper (and our dog, Belka) to the sandy, low tide beach every day despite some rain as the boys clearly loved it. They wore themselves out running and playing together. They also have a fabulous garden that the dogs enjoyed pottering around or chasing a frisbee in. In the house, Kasper is calm, confident and very well settled. He'd listen very attentively when we were talking to him and always let us know if he wanted something. It was like having a very cute housemate for a week. He slept very well downstairs and was very relaxed. Two local pubs are within walking distance of the very pretty village and a short drive away is the neighbouring town with a great deli. Overall, it was a perfect stay and we're all missing Kasper and the place already. Hopefully we'll return some day!
It was a pleasure to look after Haggis and Taggart, they were great company and easy to care for (and typical Westie walkers). Fiona made me feel very welcome, communication was excellent. Fiona's home is very comfortable and in a great location so close to the beach and coastal walk, eateries and pubs, and the South Downs. I would happily return to sit again if the opportunity arose.
We really enjoyed our stay at Skye's place. All 3 pussy cats were such a joy. They are no problem at all and come back exactly on time for dinner. The house is clean and located close to beautiful Tuncurry beach and river. Would definitely recommend pet sitting for Skye.
