Sitting for Kacey and Roman was absolutely lovely. Communication with them prior to the sit was straight forward and easy. My responsibilities were clearly laid out so when I got to the house I immediately felt comfortable. Griffey and I became pals instantly. He was friendly the second I walked in the door, well-behaved during the day, and snuggled with me every night. My heart sank when I had to say goodbye to him. Kacey mentioned beforehand that he can be difficult on walks. I took him out twice and the first time went smoothly, but the second time it was challenging to navigate when walking by dogs. We opted for playing fetch in the yard going forward and he absolutely loved that. There is plenty to do in the area, especially if you're a runner/walker. Tons of trails and nearby lakes. The neighbors were quiet and friendly and I enjoyed taking walks through the neighborhood. The house is clean, comfortable, and beautiful and I had access to all of the major TV apps. There is super fast WiFi, a big kitchen will all of the cookware you would need, and a large covered deck in the back. I would 100% sit here again.
My house sit in Taos was an incredible experience. The hosts were communicative, easy to coordinate with, flexible with arrangements and overall great people. The two cats, Gordie and Shrimpie were sweet and easy to care for. Gordie loves hanging out, getting brushed and sunning by the windows. Shrimpie has the energy and enthusiasm of a kitten. He is fun to play with and great company.
At first contact over the phone, Julie was warm, bubbly and had an infectious laugh. When we arrived on the doorstep to meet her in person, our first impression held true. We felt immediately welcomed by the entire family who were extremely generous in offering kayaks, floaties, a state park pass, bikes, ping pong, board games, use of the hot tub and just about anything else they had. The setting of this ranch is spectacular. It never grew old, looking out the kitchen window at the stunning ridge or up through the loft window at the myriad of stars. Being a horsewoman without a horse, I was looking forward to being in the barn and mingling with her four. Each one had distinct temperament but all were sweet, compliant and easy to grow attached to. Smokey, the llama, showed real restraint by not spitting on me when I herded him out to pasture and only let loose on his stablemate, Trooper (who tolerated it with finesse) The chickens were as docile as they come and Orange, the barn cat observed all the comings-and-goings with a seasoned wisdom. Bonnie, the dog accompanied me out to do chores every morning and evening and was such a great companion hiking up the nearby trails. I could go on and on about all the plusses here - the peace, serenity, friendly Colorado folks, healthy atmosphere, etc etc etc BUT I actually don't want anyone to accept this sit untilI'm sure we can't come back! :-) We left here feeling very appreciated, valued and with a new friendship we hope carries on into the future. Thank you to Jim, Julie, Perry and Justine for sharing your lives and your slice of heaven with us!
I highly recommend this housesit for the following reasons: 1) Zack, the Border Collie is an absolute character and a pet. He is super intelligent, obedient & well mannered and makes a great companion. He absolutely loves his walks and keeping you company. He is very easy to look after but be warned you will fall in love with him and you won't want to leave him :) 2) Jeff & Anglea, the owners, are very kind, hospitable & warm people. They invited me down to their home the day before the housesit officially began and we had dinner together. They drove me around and showed me the local sights and we had a lovely walk on Inchydoney Strand together. They also suggested places for day trips and gave me maps. They couldn't have done more to make me feel at home. They were very easy to communicate with throughout the whole process and I always had access to them via phone if I ever needed them. Top Class people! 3) Jeff & Angela's home is a beautiful country home with every modern convenience. It is super comfortable and has amazing views. It is located in the countryside in a beautiful, rural part of west Cork a few miles outside Clonakilty. There are fab walks right on your doorstep along lovely country lanes with postcard views of mountains and beautiful countryside. Of course, if you fancy taking a drive there are lovely beaches and towns all around you. It really is a super destination for a complete getaway. This was a very enjoyable experience and I highly recommend it. Big thanks to Jeff, Angela & Zack for their hospitality and kindness!
What a fantastic house-sit it was! I arrived a day early and received the warmest welcome from Gill and Robin. They showed me their best local walking routes, provided thorough explanation of everything and then shared a delicious dinner with great storytelling! I instantly felt home! As for Paddy... he was a dream to look after and we got on really well. He loves his cuddles, bedtime lullaby and he will eagerly join you if you fancy a dance. We went on many many walks as I was keen to explore all the beautiful parts of Groombridge and Paddy was just happy to run around the open fields and forests. I enjoyed the spacious, bright and charismatic house and all the kind neighbours I've met. I'd highly recommend this house-sit. Thank you Gill and Robin for having me!
I had a great experience with Bandit and Whiskey. Both were super easy and friendly. Echo had provided detailed instructions - always helpful. House was welcoming and VERY clean. Happy to help here and look forward to helping out again in the future.
