We arrived after Kathy had already left for her holiday, but that wasn’t a problem as Kathy communicated very clearly via text messages. Wilbur was on the welcoming committee and greeted us as we arrived, flopping down to have his tummy rubbed! On our first day, we also had a visit from Paula, Kathy’s sister, who introduced herself and asked if we needed anything, which was so lovely of her. She gave us her mobile number so we could contact her whilst we were there, if required. So along with Kathy’s concise Welcome Guide, User Instructions for household appliances and TV etc we were all sorted! Behind the side gate into Kathy’s garden, we found a private little oasis. The covered porch area was a perfect spot for reading with a glass of wine and relaxing with Wilbur who kept us company. Wilbur likes his routine and is such a sweet natured affectionate cat. He was an absolute delight to look after, and he and my husband had a bit of a “bromance” going on! The garden is the perfect size, enough to have a little potter, but not big enough to take up too much time. We had tidied and mowed the garden in about an hour! Giving us plenty of time during our stay to explore the fantastic coastal walks, walk and swim the many gorgeous beaches, lunch at Cupitt’s Estate Brewery, wonder around the lovely shops in Milton and the Markets and dine at Bannisters Pool and Roof top Bars. Our favourite, to be sure, was that it was only a 10min (if that) walk to Narrawallee Beach which we did every day. It felt like a real holiday for us, and we would absolutely welcome an opportunity to sit for Kathy and Wilbur again.
Beckie & Pete gave me such a lovely warm welcome and they are great communicators both before and during. Their boys, Emrys and Carwyn, are just adorable. They walk nicely on the lead and they love playing ball in the nearby field. They have sweet and very different characters. They are affectionate and very special dogs. Beckie’s info book was great so I knew what they liked etc. Their house is a real home. I was very comfortable and really enjoyed sitting in their lovely garden. It is so peaceful. I would highly recommend this sit and the kindness of Beckie & Pete is reflective of their family values and integrity. I look forward to an opportunity to return. Thank you both.
I stayed at Rosanne’s with a friend for almost a month, and it was amazing from day one to the end. Rosanne is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel right at home. Her house is comfortable, cozy, and equipped with everything you need. The property itself boasts beautiful woods and a serene river, perfect for peaceful walks and relaxation. We took care of 23 dogs and 4 llamas, which was a truly unique experience. The dogs are very friendly and intelligent, each with their own personality. Some are super cuddly, while others are a bit shy, but we got to know them all within a few days. The daily routine is straightforward and takes around 2 to 3 hours, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the company of these wonderful animals. Spending time with the dogs and llamas was incredibly rewarding, and the entire experience was definitely worth it. I highly recommend staying at Rosanne’s for anyone who loves animals and nature.
We would highly recommend a pet sit with Ian, he immediately came across as very genuine and considerate, highly organised and efficient in communications and arranging details of the sit. Daisy and Rosie are beautiful cats, gentle and affectionate, we really enjoyed their company and they were attentive hosts. Finally, Ian's lovely flat is set in a great area, although a quick trip to central London, there is so much to see and do in the immediate area - restaurants, pubs, the Everyman, Alexandra Palace (plus Farmers Market) and we particularly enjoyed the amount of green space and Capital ring (long distance path) through local ancient woodland. Many thanks again to Ian, Daisy and Rosie, really look forward to seeing you again in two months.
Barbara and her dogs are wonderful. The home is in a peaceful area and very clean. The instructions were clear and easy. One of the dogs began to get sick the day before I arrived. I stayed in contact with Barbara and took the dog to the vet. Barbara made the arrangements, and the neighbor helped me carry the poor girl to the van. The outcome was not what any of us hoped. The other 2 dogs were grieving and it was also quite sad When Barbara and her husband returned. It was heartbreaking to see all of this. It was not the way I ever want to leave a sit. Sometimes things in life are beyond anyone's control. I am glad I do have the opportunity to return in January. Besides this unexpected event, it could not have been a better experience. 💜
