Kate
We loved this sit! Kate was very kind and easy to communicate with. We felt very welcomed into their home, which is in a great location in DC. The cats were easy to care for, each with their own unique habits and personas. Kiku spent the most time hanging out with us and always found a way to be vocal about what she wanted. Nix and Gemma spent most of their time in their respective hiding places. It was always a treat to see them when they would come out. They have beautiful plants inside and outside of their home that were simple to keep hydrated.

Hunter
Hunter is relaxed and very welcoming. He and Alena have a lovely home very close to Wholefoods, parks, and even a nice farmers market on Sundays.

For the next sitter: Ollie will be happy to take you on a walk anytime you want. That’s right. He will walk you as he likes to adorably grab his leash in his mouth and walk down the street. He will sit and go to his bed on command and he knows he is not allowed in the kitchen and will stop at the entrance. He just constantly wants to be close to you and will sleep at your feet while you work or watch tv. He loves his chew toys and will sit happily chewing them while you work. There is a fenced dog park not far away but it’s unfortunately all concrete and dirt as it’s under a freeway so don’t throw a ball around. The first time I went, I bought a ball and threw it around and it got so dirty so quickly, I didn’t want Ollie putting it in his mouth so stopped. There are other dogs there and Ollie loves playing with them so that will take his energy out. He tends to poop twice on each walk along the way to the dog park. There is a lovely garden to sit in the mornings while Ollie sniffs and hangs out with you. There is a bush he likes to hide in which is hilarious. I had a great time looking after Ollie and the area is great.

Rebecca
Rebecca was a warm and welcoming host who took extra care in orienting me to the house, the cats and the neighborhood. She even told me to help myself to raspberries growing in the lovely back garden. I had a very comfortable stay especially because two of the cats bonded with me and were such good company. I look forward to additional sits in September and again in January 2024 !
