What an amazing experience! Peter and Theresa were outstanding! They were flexible with my schedule coming in a day before I left to meet me and Zeke as well as offered to leave a day later to be with Zeke the day of my later flight arrival. Not only did they put my mind at great ease, but they cared and loved Zeke as if he were their own. Zeke is still a puppy and needs extra attention, has lots of energy and is still learning to not pull on the lead which I know can be difficult to keep up with and they were patient and kind with him. They left my place clean and tidy and even trimmed the lawn while I was away! I would love to let Peter and Theresa pet/house sit again.
LJ and Thais looked after our cat and house for two months in early 2022. We found them to be very friendly, cheerful, and eager to help with anything, so that we could enjoy our vacation without any worries. Both LJ & Thais were working from home, so our cat had plenty of attention. He liked them so much that he followed them around the house! We communicated mostly through email and LJ was always very quick to respond. Each week Thais would also take photos of our cat and we really enjoyed receiving those. They noticed when our electric car charger started blinking red and successfully reset it. Sometimes we asked them to open a piece of mail for us and send us a photo, which was also very helpful. The house was spotless when we returned. We would be delighted to have LJ and Thais house sit for us again - they were a joy to work with.
This person was very irresponsible, had other people taking care of my dog, changed his food, he was tangled in his harness and leash which was choking him when I found him. She was not ready to leave the apartment and spent hours slowly packing her things (along with some other random guy who was also there) after I had to wake her up. My neighbors told me she threw food off my balcony and worse. Her name is not Annie. Stay away at all costs.
We recently completed a three and a half week pet sitting assignment in Oakland, caring for three dogs: Charlie, Molly, and Maisy, all of which were affectionate and well-behaved in the home. Maisy, who was on medication recovering from a respiratory illness, showed significant improvement during our stay. Her unique personality made her particularly endearing. Charlie and Molly required more attention, with Charlie being notably challenging on walks, necessitating a muzzle (which was a recent development) due to his tendency to bark and lunge at people, which the host stated may be due to a Thyroid imbalance. While we were made aware of this beforehand, it proved to be more demanding than anticipated. Additionally, the dogs barked more frequently than expected, often at random times, which was very startling. The property itself had both strengths and areas for improvement. The house was clean upon our arrival, and the listing was mostly accurate, although the space was a bit smaller than it appeared in photos. There was little room for storage of our belongings making it feel a bit cramped, and no dedicated workspace for our computer setup, requiring some improvisation. We are both temperature sensitive and found it difficult to stay cool, particularly during warmer days, affecting our sleep and comfort. The refrigerator and freezer were quite packed, leaving limited room for our groceries, which was inconvenient as we cook often and require a specific diet. On a positive note, the kitchen appliances, including the stove and oven, functioned exceptionally well, which we appreciated for our cooking needs. The water pressure in the shower was also excellent. However, the outdoor space was somewhat overgrown, limiting our enjoyment of the area. Sarah was communicative, welcoming, and considerate, providing a generous welcome gift upon our arrival and checking in to ensure our stay was going well. We recognize that many of the issues we encountered were related to personal needs and preferences, but overall, we appreciated the opportunity to care for the dogs and stay in the home.
