We would have Laura anytime - she is flexible, easy to communicate with, loved our dog and was clear on her time of arrival and departure. We have had her back since the dates listed!

A wonderful experience with Bibi, who took fabulous care of my cats. Five-star communication at all times and she was regularly in touch with photos and updates. Highly recommend.

Had a great time with our new friend "Jake" at Holly and John's house. The host even made us dinner the night we arrived. Everything about this sit was perfect!!! Jake is one of the most well behaved lovable dog you will ever meet.

Angela
Angela and her husband, Bruce, are welcoming kind people that have an incredibly gorgeous space in San Miguel. They give you clear instructions on when the support staff will be by and are available if anything comes up.

Their cat, Kozmo, is a wonderful, snuggly cat. He will be very vocal if he wants to get into a specific room that is closed off. He is also sometimes happy to wander solo and at other points he’ll sit right you and lean against you for chin scratches. In any case, he is a delight!

I am very grateful I got to spend time with this cat in this beautiful city in their wonderful home.

Lucinda
Paul and Lucinda are truly lovely, warm people. I felt right at home in their charming old mill house in the countryside south of Angouleme. I really enjoyed their sweet menagerie (4 cats, 2 dogs and a snake). Poppy and Lily would take me out for a walk (not the other way around!) on the country roads nearby at least once a day while the cats slept the day away (it was so fun getting to know their personalities!). Alfie the snake was really no bother at all. He just peacefully observed our comings and goings from his terrarium.

We highly recommend a sit for Lucy and Dennis, with their loveable girl, Perla. It took little more than a day for her to warm up to us. By the last week or our sit, she was crawling onto our laps for a quick snooze, especially after dinner in the evening. We miss her comforting presence. Moreover, we hit is off with Lucy and Dennis from our first conversation via WhatsApp and stayed in daily contact using it throughout our stay.

Their home is comfortable, cozy, and well organized, and very convenient for the commute by bus into and back from the center of Haarlem. Their house is just a two-minute walk from the bus stops. They also were very thoughtful in making lots of refrigerator, freezer, and cupboard space available to us in the kitchen, along with closet space to unpack in the bedroom. We met Lucy on our arrival for our orientation and Dennis just before our departure. We enjoyed our face-to-face interactions with both of them and hope to see them eventually in Lisbon.

Haarlem is now often recommended as the place to stay when visiting the Netherlands by an increasing number of guides. This is because there are regular, fast, comfortable train connections not only into Amsterdam’s Central Station, but southwards to Leiden, The Hague, Delft, and Rotterdam as well. The southward bound trains stop in Haarlem to all the latter destinations, so it is faster to reach them from Haarlem than Amsterdam. The public transportation system in the region is easy to use, comfortable, and fast, but it can be a bit pricy for visitors.

Since our sit was mostly in December, the weather was often challenging. However, with the wealth of museums, churches, and other indoor destinations in Haarlem and Amsterdam, it was easy find shelter on bad weather days. We also had occasion to explore the largest Christmas Market in the Netherlands in Haarlem just before leaving. We should also mention in closing that there are several big supermarkets within a ten-minute walk from their home.

Jon and his family made us feel welcome from the very start. Billy the dog was delightful to look after and very easy to walk. We could even take him on the train into the city and he is well behaved and fun to have around. We did not see much of Marvin the cat, who leads a rather independent life. The house and garden are very comfortable and easy to keep clean. It’s a peacedul area but also very central with the train station only minutes away. We would certainly enjoy a sit there again and highly recommend it for other sitters.

We had such a lovely time house sitting for Elizabeth and Michael in their beautiful home taking care of Dolly and their fish.

We were absolutely smitten with Dolly from the moment we met her and within just a few short days we became very attached to her. She is so well trained and has a very loving nature. Dolly came with us everywhere including big walks, trips to the pub, surrounding areas and public transport. She was perfectly behaved wherever we went.

The house is absolutely gorgeous (and big) and has all the amenities needed for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The communication with the family was excellent and they explained everything in detail before they left to ensure everything went smoothly.

It was an absolute pleasure sitting for this lovely family. We’d recommend this sit to anyone and everyone and wish we were staying in the UK to sit for them again. We will truly miss Dolly!! Thanks so much again Liz and Michael! 🐕‍🦺☺️🏡
