We had an absolutely fabulous time staying at Cait’s lovely home with her adorable twins, Fred and Georgie! We were smitten with the kittens and found it hard to leave when our sit was over. Cait was welcoming and left us with everything we needed and more for our sit. Not only did we have a wonderful sit, but we feel we have made a new friend in Cait as well! The twins were so sweet and snuggly! They were easy to care for and entertained us with their kitten antics. Our time spent every day on the comfy lanai with the gorgeous view was so relaxing. We would highly recommend a sit here for anyone, but hope that Cait invites us back first as we had such a terrific time. Thank you, Cait! We hope to return to visit you and the twins again very soon!
Great time. Sweet dogs and very kind owners!
We were made very welcome by Paul and Angela in their new modern and well equipped home, we were introduced to the most beautiful little Seki, the first Tonkanese cat we had ever seen. Paul and Angela live in a lovely village on the edge of Port Meadow with lots of nice walks, a local shop and two village pubs. Taking care of Seki was a delight she can be quite vocal when wanting attention and loves a warm lap to sit on. We were super comfortable in their home and enjoyed looking at the amazing photographs on display and looking through the publications of Paul and Angela’s extensive travels. Lovely people, lovely kitty, lovely home, lovely location. We hope we can sit again.
We loved cat and housesitting for Roma and John. They’re the most incredible people: so warm-hearted, empathic, and extremely well organized. Their energy is simply wonderful and very positive. They also gave us very clear instructions about Evie, the house, and the garden; which is something we highly value because it helps us do our best as sitters. And they gave us so many good ideas about beautiful places to visit and even had a designated folder with books and maps about Edinburgh and other nearby places. We visited Edinburgh twice by bus which is very easy and inexpensive. Roma and John’s home is wonderful—we loved slow cooking with the Aga, watering the amazing garden that Roma has lovingly grown (with incredibly tasty rocket/arugula) and looking after Evie, who is a very independent, yet really sweet kitty. We’re extremely grateful for having met them and we very highly recommend siting for Roma and John!
Our stay at Alex and Hugh's farm was a delight from start to finish, held by the character and energy of their playful cocker spaniel Wilma. To experience the edge of Exmoor through her daily walks was life affirming, despite the mostly blustery and rainy weather. The house itself, with its large, well-appointed kitchen was clean, warm and comfortable. The three horses were easy to look after and the cats were affectionate, yet independent. Bampton, just 4 miles away, surprised us with its welcoming teashops, well stocked grocery store and a rambling and reasonably priced antique shop. The silence and darkness at night on the farm are magical and if the weather is good, the sky is carpeted with stars. We can highly recommend this house sit and would be very happy to return another time.
Catherine was an excellent host and I absolutely loved staying in her sweet cottage with her darling kitty cats…! If you get a chance to stay there I highly recommend that you do. Terry

Lola, our 1 year old French Bulldog, loved her visit to Kapiti PetVilla! She hadn't been to a kennels before, but she was very well taken care of and had another Frenchie there to play with. She was clean and happy when we picked her up! Mary sent us an email while we were away to let us know Lola was happy, which was so helpful. Lola looks forward to her next visit later this year!
Mary and PetVilla were fantastic! We sent our cat and our dog there for a week and they were both well looked after. Thank you Mary and team, if we can were relocating to the South Island, we would absolutely be staying again. The 40 minute drive from Porirua is worth is knowing your pets are in good hands.
Our staffy cross Pip has stayed with Mary and team several times. This was not the first kennel we tried in the region, but will be our last. We'll not hesitate to send Pip here again. She is well looked after and always relaxed and happy when we collect her. Thanks so much, team!
Easy to book and coordinate with. We had to book nearly a week out and it was stress free. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our dogs appeared well cared for and happy. One of our dogs had allergies and they were able to spot it and gave her meds as needed. Would recommend and use again.
First time using Mary’s Petvilla. Impressed by the thorough approach at the booking stage dealing with our dog’s personality, vaccination status etc. Clear communication on what we needed to bring. Our dog came back super chilled and happy after a few days. Obviously had a great time and we would definitely take him back there.
I have had cats and dogs all my life and gone to many different cattery's and kennels. I recently took my 15 year old cat to Kapiti PetVilla for 2 weeks while I moved home. I am so so impressed! They communicated regularly and I used the option of being able to watch her in her cage 24 hours a day! Whenever I was worried about her I went online and could see how she was! This place is the best I have ever used! Do not go anywhere else - they are absolutely fantastic! I will be taking all my animals here in the future! Thank You PetVilla!
Barb has stayed three nights at Aunty Mary’s and come home happy and settled. And her coat looks amazing from all the brushing. We are so happy to have found you — thanks, team.
Staying overnight at Pet Villa was the first time our over anxious 15 month Cavalier had been separated from me for more than a few hours. She had a ball. She was very happy to be picked up but had clearly bonded with Mary too. Feel so happy to have somewhere that I can leave her with confidence - thank you Pet Villa
Mac had his first overnight stay at Mary's PetVilla this week. He can be a bit of a timid boy but he headed into PetVilla without a backward glance. On pick up he was relaxed and happy - and by all accounts had enjoyed his stay. Many thanks Mary, the PetVilla team and Mac's new four legged friends.
Our 3 boys were staying with Kapiti PetVilla for 2 weeks during what was a pretty wet and wintery time. On pick up the boys look healthy and happy. This is the first time we have left our boys for so long and were glad that whilst we were away on holiday, we did not have to worry about them at all. We are saving up for our next holiday and their stay at Kapiti PetVilla.
I’ve only recently been taking my dogs to daycare and my dogs are just amazing when they come home! Best choice ever
We suspect our dog misses her friends & carers from Zaminka. We were so happy with the whole process during her stay for over a 6 weeks. She came back well behaved and well mannered :) Thank you so much again, again and again. Charlie will come back shortly for a sleepover:) Best wishes, Monika & Paolo
Many thanks, dogs happy and cared for wonderfully. Highy recommend
Pampered pooch had an excellent stay here - a few weekends before a long Xmas/new year stay. Every time he’s been happy to go & comes back home after a great time
We've been using Zaminka for the last four years, whenever we need to go back to Canada for a visit. The staff there are friendly, professional, and ALWAYS take excellent care of our two dogs. Whenever we go to pick up our dogs after the trip, they always look wonderful and healthy, as the staff will ask if we would like them bathed and groomed on pick-up. We're often told of some of our dog's various antics while at the Dog Motel which says to us that the staff take their jobs seriously, and they truly care about them. We will continue to use Zaminka for as long as they show such excellent care and concern for our pets.
Have been taking current dog and previious dog here for years, they always keen to go in so obviously happy and also happy when they get home. Also great grooming service, especially with my double coated pain the a..... ( whilst being groomed) dog.
No way would I ever take my dogs to this kennel again. They were returned to me very skinny, with no collars, bedding, toys etc. We are talking about my 2 x 8 month old lab puppies who stayed here for 2 months. The agreement was that they would be fed 3 cups Royal Canin puppy food per day plus the treats I supplied more than enough of to cover their stay.. The owner was very vague about what they actually were fed, but said they pooed too much, so they fed them 1 1/2 cup puppy food ( no details given) and 1 cup adult dog food a day. At a time when their bones are growing, I was very unhappy with this. They were shut in their kennels, and allowed out to play with each other, but not to mix as I had specifically requested. Definitely would not recommend
Would highly recommend. The staff look after my dogs like it their own. This is the only place where I happy and feel comfortable take my dogs to. Reasonable price. Zaminka is simple the best
We have boarded our dogs here for a few years now, and we always find them in good condition when we pick them up. The staff are very helpful & we appreciate the chance to have them groomed while they're boarded.
Good the first time round. Never returned our requests for booking second time round. Perhaps didn't like our dog???
