We had an incredible time sitting for Jet and Steve. They were some of the most generous and gracious hosts that we have had while house sitting. Not only did they drive 4 hours round trip to pick us up in Auckland, but they also treated us to food on the way home, and spent the next few days showing us around Magnawhai and sharing lovely meals together. The pets, Heidi and Lulu, were equally wonderful. Heidi has tons of energy for an older dog and we enjoyed taking her for long walks along the beach or through the countryside. Lulu is adorable, she is highly social and always dropping by for cuddles and food. Jet and Steve’s home, Lazy Acres, was beautifully designed, captured lots of daylight and opened up to views of New Zealand’s landscapes. We felt very comfortable both in the home and with all aspects of the house sit. We highly recommend this sit and cannot thank Jet and Steve enough!
From the moment we had our first call with Sarah I knew this was going to be a wonderful experience. Sarah and Colin are so welcoming and the pets; Radar, Chai and Kiri a delight to be around. As with all pets they have their particular needs and once we had established the pattern for medication and how to get the cats to take their meds, we had them eating out of our hands! The house and setting was perfect for us and we couldn't have been happier. It may be a little remote for some but we thought it was magical. Lots of places to walk nearby and beautiful views of lochs and mountains. We had both caught covid just before Christmas which made the start of a pet sit a little bit unusual but we worked out a plan to ensure the best transition as possible. The facilities in the house were brilliant and we had a fabulous Christmas and New Year just as if we were at home. Cosy, warm and very homely and festive! I would be back to pet sit and see Sarah and Colin anytime soon! Great place, great people and fabulous pets. Thank you for having us!
Johann and her family are fantastic hosts. She has a lovely, light, cheerful home decorated with her young son’s charming art work. There’s loads of space and everything was pristine. Fleur, the cat, is super friendly and I got lots of cuddles and headbutts. The guinea pigs became bolder around me as the week progressed. Badger, the hamster, was confident from the off, letting me hold him and he was keen to have a run around the bedroom in the evenings. Communication was easy and the instructions for pet care were clear. I love Anglesey and would be very happy to return here.
Beth’s house and kitties were an absolute dream to sit for! Bowie is a delight. He warmed up to us right away and loves to sit on your shoulders. Oakley took a couple more days to get used to us, but she was as sweet as can be! The drive up to the house can seem a little intimidating, but the views at the top are totally worth it. There are a ton of hikes to do around their house as well. We loved going to Lair o’ the Bear. I would recommend this sit to anyone! Thank you so much, Beth!
I really enjoyed my time in Edinburgh cat-sitting Ella. The flat was exactly as described and in a perfect location to explore Stockbridge and Edinburgh. George and Sandhya left very detailed instructions for feeding Ella and were kind enough to do a video-call to show me where I could find everything as I was going to arrive after they had left. Ella is a goooorgeous cat and after a few hours of working me out was snuggling up next to me and wanted all the strokes!
A highly recommended sit! From start to finish, I had an excellent experience working with Bekka. She is very kind, welcoming and communicative. I received a tour during a meet and greet before my stay, and she provided me with an organized list of everything I needed to know about caring for her home and Nala. Very much appreciated! Bekka’s beautiful home is very clean and tidy; I felt comfortable and safe during my stay. Located in a residential area close to shopping, restaurants, etc. I can’t say enough good things about Nala! It was a pleasure taking care of her. She is such a sweet, affectionate, smart, cute and funny pup! Her sunny disposition made me smile throughout our days together and inspired me to learn all about her breed. She’s well behaved and does great on walks—no tugging or pulling. Such a good girl…she is missed!
