I can thoroughly recommend this sit. Rosemary and Antony are very houseproud and garden proud and rightly so. We felt warmly welcomed from the start, including sharing a delicious evening meal.We were left a very helpful and comprehensive guide including details of great pubs and supermarkets. Rosemary and Antony went out of their way to explain the necessary details of pet care and house and garden care. Tigger and Annie are lovely laid back cats who enjoy a lap or two or a seat in the sunshine. Susie is a typical Springer Spaniel - very bouncy and friendly. All the animals are healthy and beautifully cared for. Susie is well trained, responding to a whistle and generally eager to please. The house and garden are stunning and it was a privilege to be there whilst Rosemary and Antony flew to Boston USA to see grandchildren. It was unusually hot and I did my best with the careful details concerning watering of greenhouse contents and cucumber seedlings in the spare room. I am not a trained gardener or ever pretended to be one. There are beautiful country walks to be enjoyed all around and a helpful Map was left as well as taking us on a typical walk from the door to help us gain our bearings. This Easter was extraordinarily warm and in the two weeks we had no rain. The Cotswolds are indeed a golden wonder in such conditions. I was disappointed to read that the owners felt the house could have been cleaner and that some food from the fridge had been consumed in error. Rosemary told us to leave the fridge empty as the day of her arrival she was expecting a food delivery the same afternoon. I am truly sorry over the confusion and regret that we were not given an opportunity to redress the matter amicably. The day of their return happened to be the day of my 65 th birthday and we had agreed to wait on for their return, in spite of delays of luggage retrieval at Heathrow and a lost case which resulted in further delays. My. family had booked a restaurant meal in Cheltenham that evening to celebrate with me. On Rosemary and Antony’s return, as when they had left, I brought in their luggage and carried the four cases upstairs as Antony has an operation pending. We take pride in our care and service to owners and have had repeated resits as a result, as can be seen from our review history. Up till now we have enjoyed 5 stars reviews but we are sorry for any shortcomings on this sit. We were genuinely unaware of our shortcomings until Rosemary chose to mention them. Many thanks for giving us the opportunity Rosemary and Antony, Fifield is a friendly community and I enjoyed sharing in the Sunday services at the local church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. . I would advise future housesitters to be certain exactly what they put in the fridge and only use that during their stay. This will ensure they will be totally successful and invited back again, perhaps.
Harry and Macey, the two retrievers were great company and we had fun on our morning walks. Geoff and Jane, my hosts, were very accommodating and generous both before they went away and when they returned. I was given very clear instructions and all of my questions were answered on my arrival. The two ladies who came-in three times a week to clean the house and look after the beautiful garden respectively were also a great support. I would be delighted to return another time if the opportunity arose. Did I mention the cat?… delightful!

And let's talk about Matteo and Luis ❤️... These two adorable dogs captured my heart with their affectionate nature, cuddly demeanor, and playful spirits. They even surprised me with their exceptional skills in the kitchen, always eager to see what I was cooking and lending a paw whenever they could. Whether we were sleeping together or venturing out, they were the perfect companions, spreading joy and love wherever we went. I must mention how amazing they were at my workplace as well, charming everyone with their presence and becoming the stars of the restaurant. These two weeks were truly unforgettable, filled with cherished memories that will last a lifetime. ✨
The owners were down to earth and easy to communicate with, and Ruby was a really sweet and well behaved dog.
Just spent a great week in Chelsea looking after, keeping company with, Melanie’s kitties Fife and Frankie. Melanie was great! Though we didn’t meet in person, we did a face time walkabout, she sent me instructions in advance and we kept in touch while she traveled. Fife and Frankie are best buddies, totally devoted to each other, cozy, sweet, and happy kitties. Easy to take care of and enjoy. They love their toys, too. The Boston skyline is the view from Melanie’s living room window and there is a bus that stops around the corner and drops you off in Boston in 20 minutes! I would be happy to sit for Melanie and the kitties again…
