We have just arrived home from a thoroughly enjoyable 7-day house and dog sit in Angmering. When we arrived Julie and Dave immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable in their home. They introduced us to Toto and Teddy and showed us around the house before taking us out in their car to familiarise ourselves with the local area and the variety of regular walks they take with the dogs by the sea. They also pointed out eating places that were dog friendly and also did good hearty breakfasts. They left relatively early the following morning allowing us to get ourselves organised before walking the dogs. Toto and Teddy are gorgeous dogs, loving and thoroughly enjoy lots of cuddles. Toto is the older of the two and prefers to be on an extending lead, but loves a long walk. Teddy is full of fun, loves a tussle with his blanket or toys first thing in the morning and can be let off the lead in open areas, he doesn’t run off and immediately responds to his name when called. They were both a pleasure to look after. The house is in a very quiet location but only a short walk from Angmering village and from the local park and playing fields, meaning that you can do a 2 to 3 mile walk without having to take the dogs in a car. This was an advantage to us as unfortunately the weather was very wet throughout our visit. There are a lot of things to do locally, in the village there is a nice pub (The Lamb), café, fish & chip shop and co-op store. Haskins garden centre and restaurant is approx. a mile away, and Aldi, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Asda and Next are all close by. Rustington is worth visiting as it has a good range of shops and places to eat and 3 hours free parking. Worthing, Shoreham, Brighton, Littlehampton, Arundel and Chichester are all close by. Angmering is an ideal base to explore the area. We would highly recommend that if given the opportunity to look after Toto and Teddy for Julie and Dave that you say yes and enjoy it as we did. Thank you, Julie and Dave.
I had a really lovely, relaxing time with these three lovely cats! It was so nice learning about their individual personalities and getting huge cuddles (I found myself surrounded on many occasions!). Michelle was so lovely to sit for, really helpful with any questions and so kind to leave some bits for me. They have a lovely home in a beautiful area.
I enjoyed my sit with Murphy and Lulu at Sheri and Steve’s home near Waxhaw. The home, set in the woods, was comfortable with all the conveniences one might expect. Murphy is an older Pyrenees, very calm and happy to sit on the deck and watch the world go by. Lulu likes to be with you! Waxhaw is a delightful town - several great bakery/coffee shops! The nearby Alphabet Museum is worth a visit. Sheri and Steve are great hosts, excellent communication! Happy to sit again, especially when the weather is cooler and I can really enjoy the deck/porch.
Mike and I looked after Gulten and Mikes cats and home for 6-weeks. Lovely getting to know all 4 of the cats! The weather was quite warm so they spent lots of time outside. Gulten and Mike were really responsive when we hadn’t seen one of the cats for a few days, and also were great help when we needed to speak to a doctor (as our French is very limited!). Definitely need a car for this area - we drove over from the UK. Would highly recommend this sit! Thanks once again both!
This is a really nice sit, highly recommended, with two gorgeous, sweet natured, well behaved, active dogs. We miss their company already. The chalet is very comfortable, with a sunny terrace and great views to the surrounding mountains. It's a 10 minute walk to the centre of Contamine - a popular ski resort where you'll find several food stores, sports shops, restaurants and bars. We had a warm welcome from Mairi and Peter who provided an evening BBQ on the terrace. (Thank you so much). Communications were easy throughout our stay.
I had a great time housesitting for Claudia and Chad while they were away. Their house was clean and comfortable and close to some beautiful nature trails. Maya was such a sweetie and easy to care for. I enjoyed our nightly cuddles watching TV 🥰
