Doug and I had a wonderful time at beautiful Quinta Souto Covo with Guapo and Sparty. Sherrin and Tony are a super nice couple who made us feel very welcome. We were looked after by their housekeeper and gardener who spoke English and were very kind and helpful. The house has stunning views. We loved the peaceful and private location by the river Paiva. The nearby town of Castro Daire was good for everyday supplies and Viseu is a lovely historic city worth visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed trips to Aveiro and the beach at Costa Nova. The amazing Paiva Walkway was fantastic! We have such fond memories of our winter in Reriz, long walks with the adorable Guapo and Spartacus (even the kitty cat would come along). I had a wonderful time taking care of Bubu and Ariel in Cinzia's beautiful home. I arrived in Milan the day before the sit began and Cinzia treated me to a delicious home-cooked meal. Cinzia is a lovely person who adores animals and shares my passion for travel. I really enjoyed getting to know her - she's very warm, generous and intelligent. The cats were a dream to care for. Ariel and Bubu have distinctly different personalities, but both are incredibly loving and affectionate. Ariel loves to be pet and have her belly rubbed. She is very social and chatty and will follow you everywhere. Bubu is a bit more reserved, but enjoys having his back scratched and regularly kept me company on the couch and in the bedroom. The two can be hilarious when they play together. They often had the energy and playfulness of kittens. Cinzia's apartment is spacious and spotless, and is located in an excellent neighborhood. Directly across the street is a park and within a short stroll you'll find two markets, a pizzeria, and an excellent gelateria. The Loreto metro stop is also a short walk from her home. From there you are just two stops from Milan's central railway station, or five stops from Milan's extraordinary gothic cathedral. I can't emphasize enough how wonderful my time was in Milan with these sweet kitties. I highly recommend this sit and hope I can care for Ariel and Bubu again in the future.
We had a wonderful time watching Blaze and taking care of Carleen and Mike’s home. They are just about the nicest people you’ll ever meet and made me feel welcome in the home right away. They emailed me instructions ahead of time, and Blaze was easy to take care of - he mostly roamed around outside during the day and came inside in the evening for dinner and to snuggle up on the couch while we watched TV. The home itself is very comfortable, and the deck has fantastic views of the surrounding area and even Mt Hood! The location was convenient to Portland (if you have a car), but out of the hustle and bustle of the city. We are looking forward to keeping Blaze company again in the future!
Wonderful sit. Lisa is friendly, kind and generous. Bob is a very affectionate kitty. You'll never see Betty. Madrid is a sweet little town.
We absolutely loved George, he was a real character and we miss him terribly!! Jane was excellent as well, a great communicator, kind, intelligent and very easy to do a house sit for. We did not even know where Javea was when we applied for the house sit, but we loved everything about this sit, George, the house, the location and of course Jane. We have taken away so many fond memories we can not thank you enough for choosing us to sit for George. We love that we got him into the pool and have so much fun together when he was reluctant to even look at the pool in the beginning. A wonderful wonderful experience!! I loved my stay at Chelsea and Isaac's place. It was super cosy, close to the metro and supermarket (a couple minutes walk) and has a great backyard space. Communication was easy and everything was straight forward. I am very thankful for having had the opportunity to meet Mowgli. When we first met, we were friends, he just didn't know it! By the end of my stay he was like a little shadow, constantly asked for treats and cuddles, stole food off my plate, and was adamant that I needed to be cleaned by him a minimum of 3x per day. Mowgli is a beautiful cat, just misunderstood, and he needs time to become comfortable as he has high anxiety. Once he knows you're not there to replace his status as the man of the house, he loves to give affection and is very playful. Would return in a heartbeat! Thanks a tonne Chelsea, Isaac and Mowgli.
