Caring for Floyd and Maddie was a breeze! Very friendly pups with a lot of love to give. Kristina and her family have a beautiful home and were gracious enough to have me come over before the sit to meet in person. I would highly recommend this sit if you are ever in the Dallas area.
Where to start! This was such an enjoyable house sit. Diane went out of her way to make sure I was set up for success. She showed me around San Pedro, introduced me to her friends, had emergency contact information ready and even left money in case I needed anything not already provided. Diane even let me have her bedroom, so I could enjoy the amazing views every morning of the Indian Nose. Diane’s home is so relaxing and inviting, with stunning gardens and potted plants all around that only needed watering for 30 minutes every second day, which was an absolute pleasure to do, while looking out over peaceful Lake Atitlan. Now for Dinah and Ruby. A house sitter could not ask for better pets to look after and love. Dinah is a beautiful rescue dog, who will come up to you for affection every so often, but after receiving some kisses and pats, goes back to laying in the sunshine. She will never let you forget when it’s dinner time and does a little dance for you out of excitement. She is such an easy dog to care for and absolutely loves her walks. I would take her every morning and after dinner before it got dark and always the same route as Diane is concerned if you go in the other direction, Dinah may decide to go back where she came from. The walk is very enjoyable and will take you to the top of hill where you will overlook the Lake. Ruby is a very affectionate cat, who will love sitting on your lap while watching TV. She would jump on the bed at sunrise just to remind me she was there and it was breakfast time. Ruby knows her name and will come to you if called. Sometimes she goes into “hunting” mode and did catch one squirrel. When I saw her “hunting” I would simply clap my hands and try to warn the wildlife. Because Diane’s home is open to the outdoors, Ruby does not require a litter box. The kitchen is well equipped, the WiFi is excellent, the bed is super comfortable and I enjoyed watching movies in the evening in a very relaxing, reclining chair in front of her brand new, big screen TV. I was at Diane’s for almost a month and in that time, there was one scheduled power outage. If you need to work on-line, like I do, it’s very easy to walk or take a tuk-tuk into the center of town and go to Idea Connection, a very popular coffee shop/restaurant where many digital nomads work. They have a generator and you will easily be able to work on-line if the power is out. San Pedro is a wonderful town with a lovely mix of people, food, crafts and wonderful Mayan culture. If Diane invites you to house sit for her, Dinah and Ruby, jump at the opportunity, you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much Diane for trusting me with your home, Dinah and Ruby.
Julia has the cutest apartment and pup, Dawson, in an AMAZING part of Boston. Dawson was so sweet, he was low maintenance and warmed up to me fast. Throughout my time he happily came with me to Boston Common, numerous restaurants, and even the grocery store, he made the experience a blast. On top of Dawson being so calm and well-behaved, Julia was very accommodating and helpful if I had any questions or concerns. I would HIGHLY recommend sitting for Julia and spending time with Dawson!
