Although I have used TH several times since 2018, this is the first review I have submitted. Tom has restored my faith in both TH in general and sitters under 30 in particular! Tom arrived late on a Friday night and I did not leave until Monday afternoon so I could show him around. At some point either on Saturday or early Sunday I noticed Tigger following him around. It was obvious he wanted to be close to Tom. I had never seen Tigger do this before. The previous sitter took good care of them, but I did not see much affection or connection even after 4 months together. With Tom I could see it almost immediately. It was mutual between him and the dogs. He cooked their meat and veggies to mix in with the kibble, gave Tigger his obligatory supplement every day and walked them very early on the beach before the sun was too hot, playing with them in the ocean at times. I received photos and an occasional video of them and could see how happy they were - to the point where I thought they might get depressed when he left! Fortunately, they didn't... Tom is just so calm with a lovely energy that the dogs obviously sense. Considering his prior experiences were mostly with cats I was surprised at how quickly he "clicked" with them and would highly recommend him as a sitter for any pet. If I could give him more than 5 stars in the pet care category I would! He did not complain when the internet was erratic and/or the electricity went off (for some reason, much more during the 2 months he was here than usually happens in the better part of a year!), but let me know so I could contact the neighbors and find out what was going on. As for the house and my possessions (I put those in the "tidiness" category) I have yet to have any sitter who has not left at least a few or sometimes many things either broken or damaged or even lost, not to mention dirty - even though they were clean when the sit started. The difference with Tom was that he good-naturedly came back (he stayed nearby at a new friend's house for a few days after the sit) and spent the better part of an afternoon cleaning most of the things that had been left dirty. And when I pointed out some damage to a wall he offered to pay to fix it (I did not accept, but very much appreciated the offer). Speaking of cleaning, I bought a brand new vacuum right before the previous sit started in order to make cleaning easier for the sitter. It was still in the box. When I returned it was lying on the living room floor covered in thick dust on the outside and filthy inside the drum where the filthy filters were; and the tube and attachment were completely clogged. I cleared out the tube, but gave up on the drum and filter after removing some of the dirt. I wasn't even sure it would work. Tom cleaned it all up and was able to use it! He also helped me upload a couple of photos onto my listing. He is so pleasant and considerate, asking about things he was in doubt about instead of just doing them and hoping he had made the right choice - unfortunately, I can't think of a specific instance right now and since I believe today is the last day to submit the review they will remain unsaid. In closing, I would like to publicly thank Tom for giving such loving care to Tigger and Shala. I highly recommend that you choose him as a sitter - your pets will thank you! :)

Suzie and Brough are just wonderful hosts, who made me feel completely at home from the first minute of meeting them. They live in the most beautiful rural part of the Surrey Hills with endless walks over the South Downs. They were very responsive to my messages.

Tumble is energetic and just loves to please you, whilst Scampi if ever so agile for a mature dog, yet she has a mind of her own. Each day I would take them in the car to a nice dry walk, so that their paws and coat were reasonably clean - some local walks within 5 mile drive, Holmbury View, Leith Hill Place / House (National Trust, Rhododendron car park), Leith Hill Tower was my favourite walk with stunning views over Gatwick Airport.

This was a most enjoyable pet & house sit and one that I would be ever so happy to do once again. Thank You. Stan

Over the years, I've learned that it's better not to get too carried away with expectations because you never know how things will turn out. I joined Trusted Housesitters because I saw Larry and Tessa's listing and thought it sounded too wonderful to pass up, but could it really be as perfect as it sounded? Well yes...yes it could! I feel incredibly fortunate to have had my first house and pet sit here. To start, Tessa and Larry were completely supportive of me bringing my one-year-old chocolate lab. Their trust meant a lot and this was one of many ways they made me feel completely at home. Second, the pups! Ziggy is an irresistible little bundle of fur baby who won't let any dog boss him around. Sometimes I just had to sit and watch him do his ziggy run around thing because he cracked me up. And Chica is a darling poodle who will just melt your heart into a million puppy pieces. They're both headstrong but incredibly easy to take care of and, most importantly, effortless to love. Third, Tessa and Larry are thoughtful, curious, trusting, trustworthy, generous, adaptable. In a situation where you're moving into a near stranger's house for a short while, working with people who are fundamentally good is a non-negotiable. And finally, the house! It's impossible to describe it without considering all the points I just mentioned, because a house is one thing but a home is something completely different. I felt 100% at home at Tessa and Larry's but I also felt like I was on an incredible vacation at a sought-after resort or AirBnB where I could watch the sun set over the mesas every night, walk the trails on the property, look up at the starry sky, take a shower in the gorgeous bathroom, ride the Peloton, cook dinner in the wonderful kitchen, scoot down the road and visit Mesa Verde National Park. Anyhow, the place is truly magical and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Thanks Larry and Tessa for a wonderful experience and see you next time!

So many incredible things to say about this perfect petsit...

First, Duncan is quite possibly the most adorable, lovable, photogenic, playful, AND peaceful pup I’ve ever had the joy to care for. I’m already missing him, & was just with him yesterday!

Second, Nicola & family are just as wonderful, kind, easy to communicate with, & were super-appreciative. They were especially easy-going homeowners considering they not only have this sweetheart of a doggy to make sure is well taken care of, but also one of THE most gorgeous homes in a prime location in Brooklyn. They had simple home & pup instructions which made you feel so welcome & at ease.

Third, their Cobble Hill neighborhood has rich history, & is one of the most stunning parts of Brooklyn to walk around. One beautiful home after another, safe, and close to every store & public transportation you could ever need to get throughout NYC.

A real gem. I hope I’m always available for any future dates they may need, but if not, I’d take this sit in a heartbeat if I were you!!!

Some people just make you feel welcome immediately - that's Louise and Nick.
It was an absolute pleasure to sit Bena and Saffy and the chickens in their beautiful and peaceful home.
Louise was so kind to fill the fridge with goodies and run through everything I need to know methodically before they left.
I had a lovely time!! Thank you both so much!

Celina
We had a great experience at Celine`s home. We loved looking after Bailey (Biegalier) and Maxy (Cavoodle).
Now we miss them ! -the nicest well behaved dogs ever and the location and house is fantastic.
Maxy can sometimes be strong willed while walking, especially if he sees a seagull! but it was not a problem.
Celine provided us with all the information we needed to look after the dogs needs and in managing the house.
I would highly recommend to others to look after Bailey and Maxy in this great location.
