Emily and her family were very welcoming. The house is comfortable with everything that you could need. The location is lovely, surrounded by countryside and very tranquil. There is a large garden and pleasant off-road walks straight from the house. However, the best thing about this house sit is Poppy and Otto They are easy to look after, obedient and very affectionate. We enjoyed spending time with them. I would thoroughly recommend this situation.
We had a lovely time looking after Alfie and Ted. We did some great walks with them in the direct vicinity of the house. The dogs absolutely lovely, very gentle and well behaved. Great house sit!
I stayed with Dale for some days before and after the dates of the sit (thanks for having me, Dale!) Dale was an amazing host, he’s very kind and generous, he made dinner for me and his friends every night that he was present. He showed me everything I needed to know, so everything was smooth and easy. I could even use one of his bikes, which was very helpful. And Ollie I absolutely adored! He needed a couple of days to get used to me, but once he did, he was the absolute cutest and such a loving doggo! He needs a lot of love and attention, but he will give you 10x more than what he asks for. He would greet me every morning by jumping and doing a little happy wiggle, and I really miss him already. And the apartment itself is also sunny and lovely, some 15-20 mins walking from Baleal beach. I would gladly come back any time :)
What a wonderful experience! ❤️ We knew it from the start: this is going to be an excellent match! Communication was great, right from the beginning. On our arrival day Cis and Fre gave us a very warm welcome. They both are really great, generous and incredibly loving people!!! A shame we did not have more time together. 😊 The house is gorgeous (what an amazing renovation they did!) and the garden is a small oasis in the city. We immediately felt at ease. We loved the hens greetings in the morning, and enjoyed their most delicious eggs. Having the furry gang around us was wonderful: Luigi (the shyer one) followed us wherever we went and demanded cuddles and playing sessions. Couscous is curious, but overall she stayed pretty independent, watching the different situations from the distance. Santo spent most of the time outside, exploring and being on adventures. He is a sweet and playful guy, and a provider (he gifted us with a mouse once), but sometimes it was very difficult getting him back into the house at night time, with calling him and whistling. Some nights Luigi and Santo slept in our bed what we enjoyed a LOT (and miss already). 🤗❤️ Romeo is one of the stray cats. He is not always around since he has other places to go to aswell. But if he’s there for a visit, he enjoys having looong naps on the couch and being petted. ☺️ The stray cat couple Maïsha and Manake are very sceptical towards humans. They must have experienced a lot of pain in their lives before. We are so happy they found a safe home in Cis and Fre’s garden. Little by little we got accepted by them, but they still kept their distance till the end. To our delight, a hedgehog made his rounds through the garden every evening. 🦔🤗 Our 10 days in this beautiful place in Antwerp flew by too quickly. What we enjoyed the most was having so many beautiful animals around us. 🥰 We are incredibly thankful that Cis and Fre entrusted us with their beloved family and their home! ❤️ Thank you so much for everything! Hopefully we’ll get to meet again someday!! 🥰
It was a pleasure to get to know Luna the cat and the horses. The home and surrounding land is beautiful and very comfortable. Everything was very smooth and I was made to feel very welcome. Luna is a house cat and she occupies a particular part of the house. As with all cats, especially house cats, it's helpful to be conscious that their space is their domain and you are the one coming into it. Cats are so sensitive and I made a conscious effort to respects Luna's space so that we may connect. By acknowledging her presence every time I came into her space, which was a lot as it's the central hub of the house, we developed a great relationship and she was happy to share the space with me. This is the key with house cats. Give them your presence, respect and acknowledgement and they'll accept you so that you both reap the rewards of one another. Communication was excellent with the family and even though I had a domestic accident, potentially damaging the carpet, Jo was very understanding and supportive. I really appreciated this as I was rather concerned. Excellent housesit!
Lauren and Mike were wonderful! They were friendly and welcoming and their guide provides an abundance of information related to Bailey, their house, and the surrounding area, which is very close to downtown Pittsburgh. Bailey's intelligence is apparent from the outset. As she is a cattle dog, she wants to play and be challenged constantly, and she will let you know in a polite way when she isn't getting enough of your attention. However, with three or four walks a day and as many play sessions, she'll also be happy just to relax near you and let you work, read, or watch TV. I thoroughly enjoyed this sit, and Lauren, Mike, and Bailey have my highest recommendation.
