Patrice (Patty) was simply a pleasure to have in our house and take care of our beloved dogs, Oso and Cody. I had the advantage of meeting her before her time house-dog sitting in our house, and after chatting with her in person for a couple of hours, I felt totally comfortable with Patty. During our 10-day vacation, she would communicate if any questions arose and provided photos and narratives of our "boys" while we were away. Kevin and Cristal are extremely likeable and recently looked after our 15 month old Labrador, Luna for a 4 night stay....Luna was extremely well looked after and obviously enjoyed her time with them...would highly recommend to anyone looking for a trusting dog carer

My regular dog sitter was fully booked, so needless to say I was quite nervous about finding a new sitter for my furry baby while we were supposed to go on vacation. After intensive search for a new host, I got in touch with Kevin & Crystal from Buddy's Pet Care. Chester usually barks at strangers, needs a bit of time to warm up to people. As soon as we got at their place for a meet and greet, instead of barking he was all kisses and jumps of joy. I realized that Chester will be in good hands during his 3 weeks stay with them. During our vacation, I received updates with photos and comforting words to let me know that Chester was doing great. It was obvious that they care about dogs - loves and treats them as they are their own. Kevin and Crystal are beyond awesome. Thank you very much for putting me at ease and for taking such a good care of our boy. Highly recommended for all the pet parents. 5 Stars review, very well deserved. We have booked already Chester’s stay with them for our Christmas vacation.

When my parents were unexpectedly taken ill at very short notice, Kevin was able to collect my parent’s puppy and look after him for us, while they recovered. Initially this was to be for a long weekend, and they ended up having Toby for two weeks. Very reliable, and totally flexible, nothing was too much trouble for Kevin and Crystal. Toby has obviously been extremely well looked after, and has come home happy and well. We will definitely use their services again, and recommend to all our doggy friends.
Our dogs love it. They are well cared for and happy to go each time! They also offer boarding if you need it. We left our dogs for a week while we were away on a trip that wasn't dog friendly. They were happy and healthy and while pleased to see us visible happy to be at buddy's.
Jan 2023: Our dog has just spent the last 2.5 years with Buddy, Kevin and Cristal. Our dog would bound out the front door, so excited to see them - they've been a huge part of his development. Kevin and Cristal treated our dog like their own and gave us advice when we asked for it. Freddie spent many nights and a few weeks whilst we went away, without a single issue. So sad we have now moved away from the area, but hoping our dog gets his holidays at Buddy's still. Thank you Kevin and Cristal, you're amazing! Nov 2020: Our dog absolutely loves his days with Buddy and the other pooches. We haven't used Buddy's for any overnights yet, just daycare - but we won't hesitate too.
Kevin has looked after our outdoor rabbit on several occasions and he is always reliable, trustworthy, does an excellent job and often goes above and beyond. When it was very hot he put ice bottles out for the bunny to cool down against! We will continue to be using him and thoroughly recommend his services for any pets.
We used Kevin from Buddy's Pet Care to pop in & look after our cat whilst we were away on holiday and we couldn't be happier with the service! I was trying to find companies that offer cat sitting, as I like going on holiday and Oscar, my tabby cat doesn't like being left in a cattery as he's very nervous and shy. I stumbled upon Trusted Pet Carers, who offered cat sitting near me. I can finally not worry about having to put Oscar in a cattery, he can stay in the safe surroundings of his own home.
Hazel walks our puppy Denzel during the week ! Hazel takes such good care of him keeps us posted on how Denzel is doing ! We couldn't have hoped for such a kind and caring Dogwalker would recommend Hazel to anyone !
Fantastic and caring service. They looked after our 3 guinea pigs for a week. Went above and beyond. Sent us pictures everyday. Honestly I think the piggies may have had a better holiday then us. Will definitely be using again. Cannot recommend them enough
Melissa is wonderful and I completely trust her to take care of our pets when we're away. I found Melissa online when we got our mini lop rabbits and I'm so pleased that I did. We opted to have her come to the house while we were away to avoid too much disruption as our rabbits are quire young. This also had the added benefit that it didnt look like we were away as Melissa brings in any post and will open and draw curtains for you if you would like. Melissa has a really calming presence and completely put me at ease. She has had rabbits in the past and I felt really comfortable asking her for advice and knowing that our rabbits would be well looked after. Melissa sends update photos as well so you know that your pets are safe and happy. I would definitely recommend her services if you are looking for someone to care for your pets while you're away.
I left my cat in the care of Melissa for two weeks while we were on holiday primarily because I didn’t want the cat to be lonely while we were away. Melissa was extremely diligent in looking after the cat catering to her needs by feeding her but also making sure the cat was happy and loved by spending some time with her every day. Melissa sent me regular updates to keep me informed about what was going on. She showed herself to be extremely reliable and trustworthy. I would definitely use her again. Melissa is just brilliant. I'm a first time owner to a Lab puppy and from the start she has always been so helpful. Made me feel at ease owning a dog and has also given me additional advice and info to care for my pup. My puppy rushes to the door in excitement when Melissa comes as she knows she is going to get spoilt and have loads of fun. Happy puppy, happy me!!! I can't recommend Melissa highly enough - She is so caring and trustworthy, I can't think of a better person to come into my home and look after my dog. Melissa is just the best.
Melissa is fantastic. We brought her our rats a few times (with the cage and all their stuff). We felt more comfortable if someone was around them rather than just visiting. Melissa took great care of our boys and shared regular updates to keep our minds at rest. The boys were always happy, clean abd well taken care of when we picked them up Now, Melissa will be visiting our cat at home - she was very flexible with arrangements, even though it was a last minute change for us. We trust her coming in and caring for our baby like noone else.
We have been looking for a solo dog walker for our 4 year old lab Bertie for a while now, I then found Melissa’s details. As soon as i met Melissa i knew she was perfect for Bertie, professional and friendly and you can see she has a great passion for animals! Melissa is very flexible and Bertie is always well walked and sleeps most of the afternoon once he is home. I highly recommend Melissa if you need a dog walker!
Melissa was amazing. I booked her last minute and of all the enquiries I had made she was one of three that quickly responded. My cat is a bit fussy with whom she will go to for cuddles and she loved Melissa. Melissa kept me updated whilst I was away which was great. I will definitely be using Melissa again and would not hesitate to recommend Melissa.
FORGOT TO GIVE MY ILL DOG HIS MEDICINE. My dog stayed there before for a short period, and everything looked fine so a booked a 16 days holiday to visit family abroad and let him with Louise. For the entire stay, she forgot to give him his medicine EVEN WITH ME SENDING MESSAGES TO GUARANTEE SHE WOULD REMEMBER! Now, I am faced with a huge vet bill since he came back with urinary issues and even respectfully contacting her - she doesn't have the guts to even answer me anymore!
Louise is a wonderful lady who is fantastic at her job. My dog loves going to stay with her where he has the run of the very large garden and a warm house to stay in at night.

I have been using we love pets for over 1 year with a short break when my puppy spent time with my trainer! My four legged son absolutely loves Sarah and Jade and so do I! They are simply the best, the service is top notch we have a combination of walks and home visits for when I’m in the office! They are much more than dog walkers or sitters since they have taught him how to be off lead , great recall, social interaction and confidence! They do not pack walk and we have a tailored service! I am super fussy and they always ensure we are happy ! I fully recommend them
Our dog was well cared for on his walks. He was also matched with dog friends, so he always came back satisfied. Our rats were cared for (home visit) while we were on holiday. They were given free roam and all the attention they could need!
Highly recommend We Love Pets!!! Jo, Flora and the team are absolutely brilliant. We first started using them to help care for our pet rats when I needed an operation which meant I couldn’t clean out their cage for a while. We asked them to continue their visits as the service was so good, it made a real difference (and meant we had more play time with our pets!). We also used We Love Pets to support with feeding and playing with the rats during holidays, and had complete peace of mind knowing they were well looked after.
I can't recommend We Love Pets enough. The lovely ladies that go "walkies" are all very friendly, absolutely love their client's dogs and always bring my dog home very happy, tired after a good long walk and having enjoyed the socialising. The walkers build up a happy relationship with their dogs and my dog is SO pleased to see whoever arrives. At this time of year it gets rather muddy and whichever walker takes my Labrador out, always hoses her off and dries her so I don't have to - what could be better? This all began while, earlier in the year, I was on crutches after surgery but I decided to carry on for a couple of days a week once I was back on my feet. It has been entirely worthwhile for my dog and me. If anyone needs help with dog walking don't hesitate to choose We Love Pets you won't be disappointed.
Jo house sat for us while on holiday and I cannot recommend her and her team enough, she took a lot of time before the sit to understand the needs of my sensitive dog. My dog is an energetic collie and can be reactive, Joe was not phased at all by his extra personality and took amazing care of him, she took him to the doggy park and she didn't even mind him jumping into bed with her, even though he's not small! Jo is a warm, friendly person who immediately makes you feel comfortable. I always feel nervous leaving my dog but with Jo, I didn't worry at all. She kept in constant contact and my dog showed that he trusted her straight away by showing her his belly. I wouldn't hesitate to have Jo or one of her team take care of my dog again, everything was immaculate when we got home and most importantly, my dog was happy and calm. Thank you!!
Our bulldog is a very nervous boy and takes a while to trust and come out of his shell. He was struggling a little getting used to all the members of the Reading West team so Jo and the team went out of their way to change schedules around so that he had a consistent person coming in to let him out and have a play. Jade is now his absolute favourite and he’s letting his full kooky personality show - we’re so grateful for Jo and everyone’s understanding and patience with him to get him settled. It’s reassuring to know he’s in such good hands, thank you!
Jo and Lynne are such lovely ladies and so obviously love animals. Right from the start we felt very comfortable leaving our two cats in their care. Our cats are very shy of strangers, but Lynne very soon won them over and we had lovely videos and photos sent to us via WhatsApp every day of our holiday, showing how relaxed and happy the boys were with her. She also very kindly fed our tropical fish each day and even took our bin out the night before bin day. When we got home, our cats were so relaxed, which was a first in the 12 years we've had to leave them behind while we go on holiday (and having used catteries pretty much every time we went away). Our kitchen was also left clean and tidy, which was great to come back to at the end of a long drive home. We will definitely ask We Love Pets Reading West to look after our cats whenever we go away from now on, and recommend them to anyone needing a pet sitting service. Thank you, Jo and Lynne! <3
I’ve been using We Love Pets Reading West for around 8 or 9 years now and they are just amazing. They have walked and taken care of all 3 of my dogs, and have even stepped in to do urgent vet appointments for me. They are flexible, reliable and all the walkers are so friendly, and they all love my dog so much (as he loves them equally as much!) Would highly recommend!
I had to look for a new cat sitter after my previous one moved away. I found We❤️pets Reading West after a google search and after reading the postive reviews met with Jo. I instantly liked her and made me feel confident about leaving Mabel in her care. I have just come back from my second trip which was 2 weeks for which Jo and her team looked after Mabel. I was incredibly anxious about leaving Mabel for 2 weeks in the winter as she is used to a lot of company, and I barely slept before the trip, however I neednt have worried, Jo and Sarah kept me updated daily with pictures and videos which really helped me to relax and even helped Mabel open her Christmas present on Christmas day! Would definitely recommend and will use again for my next holiday! Thank you :)
Jo and Lynn are fantastic - really putting our minds at ease when we are on holiday, that our wonderful cat is well-cared for, given plenty of cuddles and is happy, relaxed and spoilt while we are away. Jo and Lynn recently helped at short notice when we had to go to hospital for the arrival of our baby girl - we were in the hospital for longer than expected, but they kept up the excellent care of our cat, with regular updates. They were super flexible throughout and just took the worry of looking after her away at a crucial time. We used Tracey for cat sitting when we were away for a weekend. Tracey was good at giving us updates on how everything was and asking what times would be suitable for the visit. We felt comfortable knowing our cat was being taken care of, and on the plus side, despite being a shy cat, he actually came out and even played with Tracey for a bit! Our dog has been walked by the team at We Love Pets for almost 4 years. Unfortunately, we are moving out of the area so will not be able to stay with them. They have been absolutely fantastic. Tracey looked after my two cats while away on holiday. She popped by beforehand to meet the cats & get oriented with their routine (feeding, letting outside, etc.). She sent us pictures & updates while I was away. I highly recommend Tracey as she provided wonderful service, great communication, and not to mention very reasonable pricing.
Tracy has looked after our Sausage Dogs on a number of occasions and they both adore her. They are quite high maintenance and demanding, she is always patient and affectionate with them. She has also looked after our cats, gerbil and Guinea pigs. We trust her implicitly and wouldn't have anyone else caring for our pets. Highly recommended.

My dog, Frank, has been going to Elliot for daycare for well over a year now, first on an ad hoc basis and now regularly twice a week. He loved Elliot from the first meeting and absolutely adores him now. He can’t wait to get in the door when we drop him off! Elliot is calm, friendly but also very professional. I feel completely reassured that when I drop Frank off he will be safe and happy until I pick him up. Everyday, I get photo updates of Frank having fun with his friends in the secure woodland and in Elliot’s large garden. Elliot has also gone out of his way to accommodate our changing circumstances. I don’t know what Frank and I would do without Elliot!
Buddy always has a great time with Elliot and his doggy pals! He often stays overnight as well and it’s great to have somewhere we feel comfortable leaving him - and where we know he will be happy while we are away. Thanks Elliot!
Poppy has been looked after on Tuesdays in most weeks for the past few months. She loves Elliot who really cares for her; indeed, he appears to have a natural affinity for all the dogs in his care as they all respond so well to him.
Elliot has been great - punctual, reliable and good communication throughout. I’ve used both the dog walking and overnight/daycare; I’ve recommended it to friends already and happily would again. Although I’ve not asked for them, I’ve received regular updates about walks etc. with pics and it’s great to have that assurance that my dog is happy and getting exercise while I’m in the office or away!
Elliott recently watched my two Labradors for a week. My youngest one is only 19 weeks and he has been great with her. We got loads of photos throughout the week and I swear both dogs were smiling! We will definitely be using Caversham Canine Club for all our future doggy day care needs. Highly recommend!

We've left our energetic 1.5 year old labradoodle with Elliot twice so far and have been very pleased with the service. Fudge has come back super tired and spent all day snoozing after all the fun and new doggo friends he made. We also got lovely photo updates frequently. We were really pleased with the location itself and the large garden because Fudge needs a lot of room where he can run around freely and burn out all his pent up energy. Will be making the visits more regular :)
We're very happy to leave our energetic 1 year old adolescent dog with Elliot and know that he has a fun day of play and walks and some rest time when he's there! He runs into the house when we drop him off and we get regular photo updates throughout the day where we can see our dog is having a good time.

I recently needed to look for a new sitter for my 2 doggies, Lana & Neva (see photo for cuteness). After speaking with a few businesses I felt immediately drawn to Waggy Tails not only because of their ad-hoc approach to home boarding but also because the owner, Clare, was very friendly and attentive. I had an initial call with Clare and we arranged for the girls to visit. Clare was very helpful, answering all my questions and not at all pushy unlike some other businesses I had spoken with. Clare showed me around her home and garden, the garden was large with plenty of space for the girls to run around. After a successful meeting I booked the girls in for their trial. Clare was great at sending plenty of updates and pictures, which definitely put my husband and I at ease that the girls were OK. When I picked them up the next day I was given a thorough overview of how their trial went. I was happy with the service and Clare was happy that the girls were comfortable enough, so they will be returning in a few months time while we are away for a wedding and I feel confident that the girls will be in good hands. Waggy Tails is such a wonderful place for your doggies! Clare is so calm and caring and made my rather nervous rescue Ronnie feel so welcomed and loved! I love the updates through videos and pictures throughout the day, it’s so great to see what they get up to and to see how much fun they have. I would recommend Clare to anyone looking for a safe and loving place to leave their dogs for any length of time. I know whenever I leave my dog there that he will be happy, have a super fun time and sleep really well that night!
Highly recommend Clare and her dog boarding and care facilities at Waggy Tails. Our dog Diego doesn’t particularly like being at large dog filled places so we were chuffed to find a loving place like Waggy Tails. Clare had an introduction tour with us and Diego where he got to interact with some of her regulars and also her children, which gave us the peace of mind she was going to make him feel right at home. The day he first went for a full day we had LOTS of photos and videos of Diego so we could really see how relaxed and calm he was as well as having lots of fun. We are so glad to have found Clare for any future care we need for Diego
Our Golden Retriever has a great time at daycare with Clare. There is a warm welcome and interesting activities and walks every day for him, as well as other lovely dogs to play with. Highly recommended!
Clare has been absolutely amazing, our little (huge) Otto can be a handful with learning how to settle around other dogs and Clare has had great patience with him and the fact he's a large puppy!! She keeps me updated throughout the day with pictures and I have great comfort when he's there knowing his being looked after well and enjoying himself with Nala. Highly recommended! As new dog "parents", we were quite anxious about leaving our nervous greyhound at doggy day care, but Clare did a thorough assessment of her needs, was very clear on what to expect and looked after her well. Clare helped me out massively looking after Rocco at short notice and still managed to Fit an induction in to make sure he was happy. I received lots of videos and pictures of him looking like he was having a great time and felt completely comfortable being away knowing he was in such good hands. Treacle is a regular Rags & Bert’s attendee. He was struggling with being left home alone having lost his companion Yorkie & was slightly reactive having been attacked by an XL bully. He’s now been with Rag & Bert’s every Friday for months and loves it! He’s like a new dog. Despite being an older boy, he’s made so many friends and I am told has the energy of the puppies - running about ! A proper ladies dog too. Many dog places said no to Treacle as he’s not had the snip (cannot undergo general anaesthetic with a heart murmur). But Rags & Berts were happy to have him. Thank you to Sarah and everyone at Rags & Bert’s, couldn’t be more reassured when I leave him in your trusted hands (he runs in and doesn’t look back to mum now 😂) and I love the photos uploaded daily so I can see he’s getting on OK from my office ! 😊🐶 Ellie, happy dog mum! Latest review: Rag and Bert's recently upgraded their grooming services which I booked after a short doggy hotel stay. The Grooming Pod by Sophie is a new best in class grooming service and I couldn't have been happier with the service and treatment my dog received. Sophie has lots of experience, is super friendly and is a great addition to the Rag and Bert's team. I have always enjoyed the "postcards" from Rag and Bert's during hotel stays and to get these from Sophie for my groom was a pleasant surprise. My top tip is to add this service before picking up your dog from a doggy hotel stay - it is super convenient and the price is competitive for Reading. Thanks again! Previous review 1 year ago: Huge, massive thank you to Sarah at Rags & Bert's for sorting out a last minute doggy hotel change for my dog due to a work trip change. Sarah was able to add in some extra dates and move things around to accommodate my changes without fuss and with a super friendly approach! A total weight off my mind knowing my dog is going to have a great time at Rags & Bert's, just like always, and I am able to attend my work trip fully focused knowing she is in great hands. 10/10, 5 start, gold standard service once again. Our dog is always really well cared for, the staff are polite and accommodating and I love getting the email updates while she's there! She's usually quite a shy dog who doesn't like new places but she's always happy to spend time here!

Sarah and every team member we've met have been so helpful. You can see from a mile away how much they love our pets, always calling him by name and seeing how quickly he's grown. I've never been more confident of leaving our little fur baby in someone else's hands. Thank you to the whole team!
Excellent doggie hotel. From meeting the owner to placing my dog into their care, it's nothing short of excellent. Bailey gets doggy daycare as well as a overnight stay and the key thing is I know he is safe and having fun while I'm away on holiday.I have recommended them to my other friends with doggies...can't say I've done that with any other dog hotels/kennels in the past!! The staff are lovely and Sarah who does the bookings is always helpful and kind. Oh and Sophie the groomer cuts his hair....so what's not to like!!
Have previously left a review for Rags & Bert’s as my girl goes twice a week to socialise and have great fun and as I said previously I cannot praise the staff and facilities highly enough. Now they have opened the Grooming Pod I wanted to recommend Sophie, as a groomer she is excellent (and very nice to talk to). My GSD looked and smelled lovely after her visit to Sophie. We have had a bad experience with a groomer in the past so it’s wonderful to have someone who really knows what they’re doing.
It is a fabulous place, and my spatial dog loves it, the being I’ve dropped him off for three days. He always looking forward to going in, in the morning, and I collect him in the evening after I work. He crashes out exhausted as it seems he enjoys being there. I would recommend going back there again, and I’m giving this a full five stars
Daisy has been attending Rags and Berts for a couple of years so the staff know her well. I’m informed she’s well behaved at the setting but on the lead with me she’s been showing signs of anxiety. Dave at Rags & Berts has been helping me with tips on how to reduce her anxiety (and therefore mine) when we’re out and about. Dave encourages positive rewards and staying calm with our fur babies. He supports the adult by asking the right questions, making suggestions and encouraging you to keep making those little changes which are greatly improving our walks together.
Brought both my dogs here for a groom, they were able to do them both at the same time which is great! They’ve come out looking beautiful and smelling divine! Such friendly, dog orientated staff couldn’t be more pleased!
My two nervous rescue Pointers had a fab time. Thank you for looking after them so well and their needs, even their beds washed for pick up. Highly recommended!
Have used The Pets Lodge several times in the past and found them to give excellent service. My two hounds appear to love their visits and seem reluctant to leave! I heartedly recommend The Pets Lodge as the best hotel for your dogs.
The experience was tarnished somewhat because they did not return all my items and are not willing to post them due to excessive cost. They offered to drop them off however no date was agreed, and all follow up mails are now being ignored
I am very pleased with pets lodge,it really is a very special kennel. My 7yr old Patterdale had never been away from us since we got him, he's not an easy dog,but we adore him. After picking him up today,he's in great form,not smelly,good condition, tired,but happy. Highly recommended them.
Our second visit for our dogs this year, all 6 of our family dogs were exceptionally well looked after and very happy when they were collected. Lovely friendly service. We will be using them again.
Our cat stayed for the first time this summer and will not be returning, she had lost weight, her voice and was very withdrawn, low in mood and very sick when we collected her, two visits to the vets and two large bills. I do not believe that she was cared for and i would certainly not recommended or be using pet lodge again ☹ my cats name is Colin and my husband booked it in his name, you know exactly who the cat is, shame on you for your response !
My dog stayed here recently and he loved it! The owners genuinely care for all the animals and understand their individual needs. I was so impressed, that my boy's already booked back in for another stay. Thank you Pets Lodge :)
We’ve been using Petslodge for years. Our labrador stays here whenever we go away and she loves it. Georgia is fabulous with the dogs and has a real bond with the regular canine guests. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.
Located just off the M4 so really handy to drop off enroute to the airport. We were pleased that we could actually go in to see where our dog was staying - Overall, very happy and will certainly be using again.
A dog I bred recently stayed at these kennels. He went in the perfect weight and came home, 19 days later, 7 kg lighter. That’s 16.5% of his body mass. His ribs, shoulder blades, hip bones and vertebrae were all visible and easily palpable. He had lost all his muscle definition. Added to this alarming weight loss, he had: An infected raw patch on his nose. Cuts to his lips and ears. Inflammation in his ears. Pressure sores on both hocks. His coat was smelly, dirty, gritty and sparse. He could not bark. He looked depressed and would not interact with his family. He shied away from his male owner There was no explanation or concern from the kennel about the terrible state the dog was in. A total disregard for his welfare, his basic needs were not fulfilled. I would not recommend these kennels.
