Domino was definitely the best part of this sit. He’s very emotionally intelligent and loves human contact. He’s an indoor outdoor cat and very self sufficient & low maintenance which worked out for this sit as unfortunately the space was not suitable in the slightest to be hosted in.

When I arrived I spent over 4 hours cleaning and sanitizing the entire place including throwing away molding, bloody, meats and food that had been left in the fridge for months possibly years.

On top of that trash hadn’t been taken out and all surfaces were filthy to the touch.

The tile counter tops had a layer of sludge and grime in the groves but I was very surprised to see crumbs from previous meals on surfaces, which indicated they were not at very minimum wiped down.

The dishwasher, which was pitched as amenity but was outdated -likely built in the 80s and did not work or close properly.

Bed was made but sheets and towels seemed as though they had not been cleaned prior to arrival and had a mildew odor which I discovered was the same odor from the washer and dryer both of which also did not work properly.

The bathroom had to be stripped of the rugs around the toilet that were saturated in urine as well as the toilet seat and floor around toilet. The shower curtain and mat were utterly repulsive, and had to be stripped and taken into the garage.

After coping through the first 2 nights I decided to book a hotel for the duration of my trip as the reality of the conditions became unbearable.

I did however, on principle check in daily to ensure the cat was cared for.

The condition that the home was presented in, especially in anticipation of a guest was truly disgraceful and frankly a health hazard.

I’ve been fortunate to be on this platform for just under a year with the majority of my experiences being positive and some even exceeding expectations.

I believe members of this community have a responsibility to show up as their best selves no matter if you’re the host or the hosted.

If this was indicative of Robert’s best self I feel it’s my responsibility to be transparent with the THS community in hopes to spare unassuming members of a future negative experience.

We had an amazing week looking after ‘Panchi’.
Every day we took her for a hike in the hills near Valencia, wonderful scenery, Gorges, waterfalls, even thermal springs to swim in.
Panchi was very adventurous, well behaved and we really enjoyed our time with her.
Sebrina and Franco made us very welcome, their home was very comfortable, and in a good location.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this sit.

We absolutely loved pet-sitting Otis and Skunk in Daphne's beautiful home! The cats were super cute and cuddly, Daphne was very easy to communicate with, kind, generous (left us a bottle of wine and a full fridge) and the yard and pool is resort like! Don't hesitate to pet sit for Daphne. Thanks again- we hope to come back soon. X

The whole experience with Jo was super comfortable!

They have a very hospitable home in a quiet and safe neighborhood with lovely neighbors.

The cats were easy to care for and learn their personalities/routines.

Chandler loves to hang out by heater vent in the kitchen & is super curious!

Schmoopie is very independent & loves to sit on the couch and watch the birds! We bonded over his brush outs.

I didn’t technically use the sauna or the tub, but they are a great amenity!

Aplus experience!

It’s been lovely house sitting for Larissa and Andrew and I miss Bowie already!

Both were great in communicating with me from the get go and any questions were answered speedily. I met Bowie a few days before the sit and Larissa was great in going through and explaining everything I’d need to know about the flat and Bowie, which made settling in very easy. They sent a doc alongside this too which was super handy and was great to be able to refer to that.

The flat is lovely and very comfortable - there was everything you needed for your stay. There’s also a separate office with monitor setup which made working from home so much easier!

The location was amazing - super easy to get everywhere with various supermarkets, restaurants, cafes etc right on your doorstep!

And now for Bowie.. I think he’s the most expressive cat I’ve met! Super fun to hang with and couldn’t resist taking pics of him! He loved to play, be brushed and was a hit on my work video calls as he would be sure to make an appearance! He was great keeping me company whether it be when I was working or during a Netflix binge!

Overall I’ve had a fab time staying at Larissa and Andrew’s - I’d definitely recommend this house sit for anyone!

Cathy & Martyn are a super couple and so hospitable. Their home and garden are lovely. Ronnie the big boy cat is such a character and gave us quite a few chuckles along the way. It was great to have a taste of this part of Hampshire so it was a very enjoyable sit all ‘round!
