Marianne is absolutely wonderful as a host and as a person - it was a pleasure to get to know her and stay in her house. She left very detailed and easy to understand guide, which was very helpful - we found answers to all questions that we may have there. Communication was very easy and clear from the start. And of course, we absolutely loved the cats! Bobby speaks lots of cat languages - we’ve never seen a cat who can make so many different sounds! He spent a lot of time with us, slept on our bed and worked as our alarm (all with our consent of course). Raya is more calm, self-sufficient, delicate and quiet, but also very sweet and nice. Marianne’s house is lovely - very comfortable, clean and tidy. We loved having an opportunity to sit in front of the fireplace for a few times. Also Marianne had very nice and helpful neighbors - we had a pleasure of getting to know them, they helped us a lot. We felt like we are on vacation and we highly recommend this housesit for all cat lovers!
We stayed at Michel and Claudine's place for three weeks and we had a wonderful experience. Michel and Claudine have been extremely welcoming and very specific when communicating. All the information we received was complete: they took the time to explain everything by inviting us to arrive one day in advance and showed us how to take care of the dogs, the garden, the house and the car. They also offered delicious meals and shared wonderful photos of their vacation throughout the weeks (got a lot of inspiration for our next travels). :) This communication allowed us to take care of Huron and Funky without any issues. The house was tidy and equipped with everything one needs. Michel and Claudine were also super organized as far as Huron’s and Funky’s food and treats are concerned: you cannot make mistakes. They thoroughly explained us the dogs’ temperament: how to manage food, treats, walks and any situation that may arise. Huron and Funky love having walks in the park, playing, experimenting new food, and cuddling (especially Huron who follows you everywhere!). They are really obedient and sweet, they mainly stay in the house on their blankets, are easy to manage during walks, and will often come to see you to ask for cuddles (and food). They will let you sleep during the night, and are not invasive when eating. I really recommend this sit both for the owners' kindness and the dogs’ qualities :) Thank you for this experience Michel and Claudine!
I really enjoyed my time with Mio! He is super friendly, sweet, and really likes to play with his toys. He's very easy to care for and is really fun and cuddly! Jen is a wonderful host with a very comfortable, clean home in a great location. It was nice and quiet, yet still very close to lots of things to do. I would happily return in the future!
I met Jay and Jan and Jenny in October during another petsitting and housesitting trip out to Anacortes and was excited for this sit. Jenny is a gentle, sweet cat who is social and enjoys her human company. Jay and Jan are very nice, considerate, welcoming, organized, and easy to communicate with. Mornings with Jenny were a highlight of the sit. In the morning when I got up she would run towards me while “talking” with what I call her musical meows. It was delightful as we’d get our first pets of the day in then I’d put her food out, make coffee, scoop the litter box then be escorted with more “talking” into a chair with Jenny to watch the water and see the sealife. Both hands are required at times according to Jenny who will head butt the hand that’s not petting her if it’s in view and in her reach. Best surprise of the sit - Jenny loves belly rubs! Jenny also loves to play at times and especially loves the laser pointer. Jenny did do some stress grooming a couple days into the sit, and Jay said she should stop after she bonded with me (what pressure!). She didn’t appear to do more stress grooming, though she did spend more time grooming the couple scabby spots on the overgroomed area. Jay and Jan’s home is wonderfully located with so much to see right out the windows and while in the hot tub. I familiar with Fidalgo island after multiple trips and sits and could easily enjoy my favorite trails during this sit. I recommend this sit for anyone looking for a sweet cat sidekick, and I would gladly return.
It was more than a pleasure to watch Vishu and Kala while AJ and Pallavi were away. I instantly felt comfortable speaking to AJ about the sit and travel in general. And Pallavi went out of her way to ensure I felt welcomed, informed, and empowered to enforce boundaries with the cats. You'll very much enjoy your time with Vishu and Kala. Vishu is food motivated, social, and kind. He looks forward to a little playtime followed by cuddling on the couch while hogging the computer screen during movies. Kala prefers napping in the sun and takes a little time before engaging. But if you give her space, she'll plead for some attention when she needs it and occasionally tell you when she doesn't. Less is more with her. This was a situation where I couldn't leave the apartment cleaner than I found it. Pallavi & AJ keep such a tidy and well designed space, it made a neat freak like me feel immediately at home. Sunny views, iconic neighborhood and sweet company.
Sally and Rob are the most lovely two people you could do a sit for and little Tabasco the cat is the most curious 🐈 If you enjoy cuddles, Tabasco will be up for it, he will even greet you every morning with purrs and cat strokes. He is playful, so for chasing something, he likes colourful toys and fluffy things. He also likes to sleep at the top of the house and in the laundry room sometimes.
