Todd and Janis did a wonderful job caring for our home and pets while we were away. Given our length of time away (two weeks) and our lack of previous experience with the site, we were a little uneasy as first time users. Fortunately, Todd and Janis were great. They sent regular updates (w pictures), had no issues navigating an unfamiliar home and left our house clean and our pets well cared for. Would definitely recommend them to others.
Amanda and her adorable family took such great care of our dog Steve! She kept me up to date on how things were going and sent pictures of Steve snuggling with the family. I could tell he was having fun and well cared for! She also did an amazing job of taking care of the house and plants. I am pretty sure I came home to my house cleaner than when I left it! It was a pleasure having them stay in our home!
Judith was great! She fed and played with kitties and sent me daily photos of them. She left the house clean and tidy. I would have her house-sit and cat-sit again!
We had such a lovely time looking after Sherbet and Toothless, the cats (the doggie was elsewhere) in Kerry and Ed’s beautiful home. Their instructions were really clear, and we enjoyed the generosity of a bottle of champagne on our arrival! We had a fairly long stay there, and there were no problems at all. Toothless is very shy, and we barely saw him, but he survived our company so that’s good! It was a lovely area to explore - the local woods and canal paths are great for walks and runs - and it’s a very peaceful place to live. Views of horses in the field next door - bliss! A perfect house sitting experience!
The first thing to say is that Fiona and Gareth are the perfect hosts: warm, kind, thoughtful, understanding, communicative and great company! The sit itself was a delight, not least for the space (the cottage we stayed in was really comfortable and lacked for nothing) and for the wonderful setting: this part of the world (SW of France) is an area of extraordinary beauty and soaked in history. The chickens are chickens: unproblematical and giving more eggs than one could possibly use. Daisy and Samy – two very different but equally loveable characters – are gorgeous, and clearly appreciate their human pack. Fiona and Gareth left us a welcome package with clear instructions: the jobs were few and easy, and the dogwalking was something to be enjoyed by both canines and humans. Our hosts were always ready to field any small queries from afar, and maintained contact throughout our stay (as much or as little as was necessary). We had a wonderful time in Dolmayrac. Thank you, Fiona and Gareth, for allowing us to sit Daisy and Samy and stay on your beautiful property.
