We have had a wonderful 2 weeks spending time with Buddy and Lucky who are indeed well behaved dogs who love to spend time with you. They are so easy to look after especially as they have their dog door to come and go as they please. They may bark at passing dogs or squirrels from time to time during the day but they are quiet all through the night. We didn't even hear them during the night going through their dog door as it is just outside the guest bedroom. They enjoy their walks in the lovely quiet neighbourhood and we met many of their doggy friends. Heather has been superb throughout with her generosity and communication. She is always available via Whatsapp should you need to ask her anything while they are away. Her family welcomed us as we stayed overnight before they left early next morning. They clearly enjoy their travels which are illustrated by their many interesting souvenirs and books throughout the house. It is a spacious and very comfortable home with very friendly neighbours. Heather wants to ensure that you have a good time and has sightseeing itineraries and books to assist. We had the use of their cars which was very helpful for grocery shopping, visiting Mount Vernon and taking the dogs to a walking trail but we also used Uber, Lyft and the Metro for getting to Alexandria Old Town and Washington DC as parking would be so expensive. Heather had loaded up Metro cards for us upon arrival. Now that the downstairs area is advertised as a guest suite, small adjustments would be welcome to make sure that the sitter has sufficient space for all their things. There was good drawer space and the bed is very comfortable. It is a very easy sitting, the dogs are great fun to be with, so cute and cuddly, Heather is a great host; very welcoming, generous and we fully recommend this to future sitters.
I had a wonderful time looking after Norman. He is a sweet, happy pup who is clearly very loved! He’s very responsive off lead, extremely affectionate with everyone and just generally a ray of sunshine. Josh’s home is ideally located and he was kind enough to leave suggestions for local parks and eats. Highly recommend this sit.
Matt & Molly were great hosts, and their dog Cashew is super-sweet & loving. Their house is in a friendly, older neighborhood in Bellingham, and it is within a couple of blocks of two nice brewpubs and a large grocery store. I spent two weeks there hanging out with Cashew. We bonded instantly, and I found it hard to leave her when it was time for me to leave. The house was very comfortable, with a high quality king-sized bed, internet, Roku-equipped TV, and washer/dryer. Matt and Molly were great with communication, making sure they were reachable even when traveling out-of-country. I'd be very happy to hang out there with Cashew again.
This was Stephanie's first time on THS and they were stellar! They had great communication, filled out a helpful and comprehensive Welcome Guide, and their two cats Harry and Juno are both adorable and well behaved! Taking care of their cozy place and their furry loved-ones was very straightforward, and their house is clean and very well located by the Bethnal Green tube. We felt so welcomed! Would be happy to sit again in the future and would definitely recommend to others!
Loved sitting for Toby and Alyssa in Calgary! Dodge and Jersey were the absolute sweetest and extremely, well-behaved dogs!! Every day we would wake up and begin with a beautiful, scenic walk with a view of the mountains, followed by breakfast. Neither ever pulled at the leash, and they would even wait on the front step while I locked the front door and wait for my approval to begin the walk. Dodge prefers his breakfast in a toy, which was not only entertaining but also gives Jersey time to eat without Dodge trying to steal it. Mid-morning and afternoons we would go in the fenced in back-yard to make sure Jersey gets her quality fetch time with her favorite, yellow frisbee. Dinner around 6pm, with walks before and after, and one last trip in the backyard before bed. Truly two of the best dogs to watch!! The home was pristine and lovely! I had my own area downstairs, with a big bathroom and even a weight room. Alyssa had to come home for an appointment, during her work travel, which was great to catch up since I didn't get a chance to meet her in-person before she left. Her and Toby were extremely responsive and just great people in general. I do blame Toby for allowing me access to their espresso machine, which kick-started my daily double-cappuccino intake. haha Highly recommend Toby, Alyssa, Jersey & Dodge for sits to anyone!!
I had a video phone interview with Ana and Neco, the pet owners, prior to being offered the sit. Both were very kind, polite, and enthusiastic about finding a good sitter for their beloved senior citizen pups, Beija and Puffy. I was offered the sit but Ana had already departed overseas when I arrived, so her husband Neco greeted me very warmly and thoroughly explained all I needed to know about pet care, where I could locate items in the home, and other essentials such as getting mail, taking out garbage, and watering a few indoor and outdoor plants which were mostly peppers, Nico's pride just like my father's who loved growing hot peppers! So, although I didn't meet Ana in person but only through video chat, both were very warm, welcoming, kind people which made this pet sit even more special. Their clean, spacious home was in a charming residential neighborhood within minutes on foot or by bike to grocery stores, restaurants, other shops, gas stations, parks, bike riding greenways, and the impressive Kensico Dam and park plaza. I had a car but more often walked and rode by bike to these places for exercise and fresh air. Within 15-30 by car were other charming historical towns of Westchester County to tour and admire, all within a relatively hilly, very scenic and tranquil setting yet all with train stations heading to New York City if one was inclined to visit. Beija and Puffy, the resident pets, were a true delight! They were friendly, quiet, loving, and took great pleasure and enthusiasm in getting 2-3 daily walks, treats, and plenty of hugs, kisses, and attention while indoors. Puffy in particular enjoyed being with me and would walk to where I was sitting and join me on the sofa or chair, or she would jump into bed with me and just feel relaxed and happy with human company. I came with my kitty Bobby, and both Puffy and Beija accepted him as a member of the family immediately which made me most happy. The three of them appeared to enjoy each other's company and presence and would have become steadfast friends, I'm sure, if Bobby and I would have stayed longer. In conclusion, this was a very pleasurable, enjoyable pet sit because of the warmth and hospitality of Ana and Neco; the loving, kind, and accepting nature of pups Beija and Puffy; and because of a nearly ideal location so close to commercial/business locations as well as parks, nature preserves, and other nearby historical hamlets which are what make Westchester County unique and praiseworthy!
