Delia provided great instructions and was a fabulous host. Max is the absolute sweetest cat to spend time with. The neighborhood is beautiful as well. 100% recommend anyone to stay here. I hope to see Max again!
We had a great time in San Diego at Karen’s house. This was the first time that we had kept potbelly pigs. There were several steps through out the day to take care of them but the instructions were easy to follow. We don’t tend to be out all day long, so we were easily able to feed the animals throughout the day, and the house is in such a convenient location, frequent feedings were not a problem for us. Karen so kindly allowed us to spend the night before and after the sit and even served us dinner and breakfast. The house is in a great location- downtown San Diego but in a quiet walkable neighborhood. The house has a lovely outside pooI area, it’s too cool to get in the water in January, but it’s great to just see sunny skies and sit by a pool. I used to have Guinea pigs as a kid, so we really enjoyed taking care of them. We would definitely do this sit again.
Lisa is a super-host: her thoughtful communication and attention to detail made this pet-sit easy to access and understand. I spent my first night in the annex: an enclosed room with only a bed, a small desk & basic electric. After her party left for the retreat, I moved into the main house. Located in dense, urban suburbs, the surrounding area is extremely bike-friendly. Nearby, Columbia Park has massive, towering trees. When I arrived, it was the height of Spring – so many flowers! Since the weather was sunny during my visit, with low humidity; Lisa's plants and young trees did require regular watering. The cats are night and day. Zazie is friendly, playful and spirited. Raul is a fraidy cat – who mostly runs and hides in protective spaces. He was often aloof. Twice the size of Zazie, he seemed to eat half as much food. If he was out in the open, he was usually sweet. At first, it was easy to get them to come inside at dusk. In the 2nd week, it became more difficult. Even though Lisa was very specific about the food, when they ate, and how much they ate: it was inconsistent with their eating habits. When I would go out, I left ample food. Still, sometimes when I would come back, they could be found pacing if the food was gone. Over the 2 weeks, they did wake me a handful of times between 3 & 6am. Usually Raul would be pacing & vocalizing, wanting to go out. One time Zazie got on the bed and gave my lower leg what I would call a paw massage.
What a pleasant sit in the countryside! Anna is very welcoming and prepared everything needed. Her house is very cosy, located in a small hamlet. The affectuate Piggy helped discover the nearby paths and gave many cuddles. Thank you Anna
I absolutely loved looking after Rocky in this lovely spot in North London. She’s an absolute character, and a great companion - from skating around the parking, to playing football. Brooke was really responsive as well when I had questions. Would love to look after Rocky again in the future.
Ellie provided quick and detailed communication throughout my stay with the loveable Dylan. The area has some fantastic sightseeing such as the canal and Berkhamsted Castle which we both enjoyed visiting. Dylan might prefer to be looked after by an attentive couple similar to his current home life.
