Meredith was a fantastic pet and house sitter. She was easy to communicate with, quick to follow up regarding travel, and followed the guide perfectly. Bug was well cared for! When I returned home, Meredith went above and beyond with the cleaning and left a little summary. I highly recommend Meredith and would love to have her back.
Aaron's house is absolutely beautiful and his wonderful cats are so friendly and chill. Aaron is also a very welcoming and friendly person, so it was a great sitting experience in every respect. I highly recommend this sit for any well-cultured traveler to Seattle who'd prefer a quiet residential area without sacrificing easy access to the city. I relied on the bus during my stay and there are at least two major lines (north/south and east/west) easily accessible from the house. I found the buses to be very reliable with tracking available via Google Maps and you can also buy bus passes through the TransitGo app. It's a short bus ride to downtown Ballard and Fremont areas, and a longer ride (~45 minutes) on the same bus to get to downtown Seattle. I also used the Lime bikeshare system while I was there, and there was usually at least one bike within a few blocks of the house. The kitties were very well behaved, got along with each other, were often cuddly but not overwhelmingly so, and were a pleasure to have around during my remote work hours and in the evenings by the fireplace. :)
The house is very well located near the beach. The animals are very friendly. West the malinois requires experience with dogs and more supervision than the other animals but he is very nice.
It was an absolute pleasure to look after Jane and George's home, their smallholding and farm animals. Jane and George's home is peaceful, comfortable to spend time in and is in a great rural location and within thirty minutes to the sea. We thoroughly enjoyed looking after their home, smallholding, dogs and various farm animals and got into a good rhythm doing the daily routine of feeding the animals and milking the cow in the morning and evening. Jane and George were perfect hosts: welcoming, kind, generous, communicative and well organised to ensure all house details were available before and during the stay. A wonderful sit. Would definitely recommend.
I favourite’d this listing a year earlier. Eight months prior I messaged to say I looked forward to sitting Lionel one day. That was still three months before even moving to the UK. Clearly, to say Lionel is enchanting may be the understatement of the year. In-person, nay, in-feline is not much different. He’s mesmerizing. He’s also super chill, if a bit of a diva. Sure, he may be aloof at first, but work for it and he’ll come around. Defy him, and watch the things on the counter hit the floor. An unpretentious, lived-in space, it’s easy to feel at home at Am and Dan’s. They’ll leave clear instructions on what needs doing with no surprises along the way. Communication is good. They’re appreciative of updates while letting you do you. Five minutes from the train (Preston Park station, not Brighton proper), less to the bus, around thirty minutes to the seaside, you’re in it but not ‘in it’ in it. If you know what I mean. But let’s face it, Lionel. He’s why any of us would choose this sit. And why we’d return.
Debbie and John are really easy to communicate with and very hospitable. We chatted easily and shared stories from our lives which always helps to build trust. Their pets are wonderful! Molly loves scratches and she's so sweet that I could have scratched her ears all day. And, wow, you should see her run! Gracie is a big slab of slobbery love who is highly motivated by food and tummy rubs. Boots (great name for a cat) is super independent and likes to have the front door opened for him rather than use the pet flap 😂 The house is great and the garden is full of produce and chooks. Eating fresh eggs with sun-warmed tomatoes is amazing. And then there are the hummingbirds! And the use of their car! I could go on! All in all, a wonderful sit ❤️
Pet parents had everything arranged when I arrived. I was able to meet the pets and familiarize their home ahead of time. The pups (Jpeg and Cora) were fantastic. Cora likes to be near at night; she slept on the bed with me and appreciated being petted, but she wanted to nap on her parents’ bed during the day. Jpeg preferred to be near during the day and he liked being petted, too! They are both so sweet.
