Tommy and Teddy were a pleasure to look after for our 13-night assignment. They both have great personalities and were very easy to care for. The neighbourhood was great for dog walks with many safe paths to walk on. Sandra clocked up 56 kilometres on Strava walking T and T. They enjoyed their walks, playing with the toys in the secure fenced yard or just resting in our company.

We didn't have a car (and didn't need one), but were able to use the owner's bike to go do our food shopping. We used public transport (train and bus) to get to the property. The house was very clean and tidy on arrival (with little to no clutter), which meant it made it easy to return it in the same state. The instructions (written, in the THS site and using our standard format) meant we had all the information we needed.

We communicated with Hrefna and Kristinn every few days via WhatsApp. Communication back and forth was prompt.

We would absolutely housesit for Teddy and Tommy again if invited to do so.

Jennessa
Jennessa/Rob were friendly and organized. Fernando is a great companion, especially for outdoor activities. They're in a peaceful neighborhood on Lake Washington with easy access to the Burke-Gilman Trail, Matthews Beach, and Magnuson Park.

I enjoyed the sit!

Anna
Anna and Mark have a beautiful, comfortable home with a very homely feel. They made me very welcome and gave me a good, informative handover. Benson the beautiful pointer is a friendly and loving dog who will run forever! Luckily there are some fantastic walks nearby and I particularly enjoyed the Meon Valley. I would happily return again especially to meet the new puppy!

I had a wonderful week sitting with sweet, gentle Fred in Newbury. He welcomed me quickly and we had a lovely time keeping each other company. He’s free to go in and out during the day, though he stayed inside a fair bit, doesn’t wander far, and always comes home at meal time! He liked to sit beside me (sometimes on me) in the evening while we watched tv. He slept downstairs at night and was happy to see me in the morning ready for a nice pat and of course his breakfast.

Newbury is a lovely town with nice walks along the canal system. I enjoyed strolling the pedestrian-only shopping area and found a great pub for lunch called Lock, Stock & Barrel - be sure to check it out. Newbury is easy to get to by train and you don’t need a car to get around. I was grateful though that Rachel offered to pick me up from the station as it’s about a 15 minute walk from there to her home.

Rachel’s home is a beautifully renovated two bedroom home. The guest room was cozy and very comfortable.

Communication with Rachel was great prior to, during and even after the sit. She made me feel welcome before we even met in person, was quick to respond to any questions, and provided clear instructions and local guide books.

If you get the opportunity to sit with Fred, take it. He’s easy to care for (no litter box) and he’s a such a sweet boy. I hope to get the chance to return. Thank you Rachel for a wonderful experience.

Alenka and Larry
Dreamy home in a dreamy location with a living teddy bear to cuddle with. To this add two awesome owners and you'll get the recipe for a great house sitting!

Penny Bear is a young, active puppy who needs a good amount of activity to be happy but other than the daily walks and some playing at home she doesn't need much more and she easily adapts to your schedule and activities. Plus, she has the sweetest eyes ever!!

Amy
Scout is an absolute sweetheart. He is so affectionate and a joy to be around. Although he is a senior dog, he loves to go for walks around the neighborhood or hikes in the area. He is a great snuggler and warmed up to us immediately.
Although we didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Amy and Kevin in person, they were extremely responsive and communicative before and during our sit. They are very kind and generous people and we really appreciate their sharing their lovely home, garden and adorable dog with us. Scout will be
sorely missed!
