Overall the sit was okay, when we got home our pups seemed very happy and our home was well taken care of. However we did have an issue the first couple of nights into the stay. We noticed on our doorbell camera that only Ed was staying for the sit, despite telling us that Kera would be joining and would be at home with our pups while he was at work each day. This wasn’t too much of an issue as we know plans can change but certainly would have liked an update on this before the arrival. Additionally, for the first two nights nobody was staying at the house overnight and our dogs were alone for up to 14 hours. That is totally not typical for them and we were really concerned with the anxiety this caused them. Despite our serious disappointment and concern we reached out to Ed and shared our expectations - he was really reassuring and let us know he would be spending the rest of the overnights at the house. We had no further issues from there. It was really great to be open and honest with Ed and have him be receptive and respectful to our needs.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Danita and the way she cared for our pets and home. We were away for over a month and nervous about leaving our three pets (2 cats and an energetic 2 year old lab mix) in the care of someone we didn’t know. Danita’s level of professionalism, attention to detail and kind nature allowed us to have a care free vacation, feeling confident that the pets were in capable, loving hands. She exceeded our expectations in every way. Right from the start Danita asked great questions, making sure to get lots of detail on each pet's nature and personality. While we were away, she sent daily updates with photos and comments that made it clear to us she was engaged and paying attention to each pet’s needs. We truly felt she adored them and gave them the attention we hoped that someone would. Beyond the pets, it is clear that Danita is a responsible and capable person, handling little issues around the house with maturity and ease. We came home to a house that was sparkling clean, pets that were happy (and sad to see her go!) and felt like we’d made a new friend. We highly recommend Danita and feel she could handle any situation with ease.
Rose was great. Dogs were happy, house was immaculate and she was so kind to stay later in the day to feed the dogs when our flight was delayed. Would invite Rose anytime to sit again
I had the best time getting to hang out with Olive in Maria and Anthony's beautiful home. Caring for Olive was a breeze, with great communication both beforehand, during the sit and in notes around the house which were really helpful. Olive is an easygoing, sunbathing cuddle bug once she opens up to you - she's such a joy to be around! Not to mention the gorgeous, super clean space and fantastic location for exploring the area. 11/10 would sit again!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our house sit in Kirk Hammerton looking after Marnie’s pets. The two dogs were both very loveable characters – Bagsey the black Labrador was very affectionate and just loved attention while Sandy, the pug was very inquisitive in her new home, especially with the guinea pig who paid no attention to her at all! There were some nice long walks down by the river and they were both very well behaved and were no trouble at all. Ollie the cat was such a little cutie - he was just adorable. He was quite nervous at first but soon enjoyed cuddling up to us on the sofa . Last but not least was Joseph the sweet little guinea pig who was very happy and laid back as long as he was eating! All the pets got along very well and it was an absolute pleasure to look after them. Marnie left clear and helpful instructions on how to care for them and she made us feel very welcome – she even left us some little treats which was very kind and thoughtful of her. The house was very clean and tidy and there was everything there we needed. It had a nice garden and was located in a lovely peaceful village. We wouldn’t hesitate in sitting again.
Sitting for Sarah was a breeze. She provided a Google Doc with detailed instructions for accessing the apartment, using its amenities, and looking after her kitty, Lyra. Lyra was shy initially, but soon her desire for human attention shined through and she was brushing up against me and sleeping on the bed. She also had moments of youthful exuberance, bounding across the room in the blink of an eye. Chasing an imaginary critter, perhaps? The apartment was as advertised: cozy, suitable for 1-2 people, in a great location. I definitely recommend this sit and the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood
