This was a wonderful sit. Hosts Alex and Viole were very welcoming and gave clear instructions about the cats and apartment. The apartment sees trees out of all the windows, is full of light. I took public transportation everywhere and it was easy and efficient. Pippo and Pippa were friendly cats who got along well with eachother. They are cute and undemanding. I had a good time playing with them. So… friendly hosts, nice cats in a beautiful area. I hope to return again.
David and Barbara were amazing. They had all of the information typed out in a packette for me including maps to stores and places to take Ari, with recommendations. Very helpful. Everything was straight forward and easy to find. Very gracious host. But Ari was the star of the show. Very personable and happy. He was up for anything. We had lots of lovely walks. He is a sweety.

This was one of the very best cat sits I've done in my two years on THS, and I feel so lucky to have done it. Communication with Jagoda was great, and she's a very warm, friendly person. Her flat is in a great location, and the neighbourhood felt really safe and friendly. It's also just a short walk from the Thames (which would have been great if I'd remembered my running shorts!) and a lovely family-friendly park, a local Sainsbury's and Co-op, and some nice restaurants and cafes. But the highlight of the sit was the absolutely gorgeous Bodhi. He's quite a character, but completely and utterly adorable. He incredibly sociable, and loves company, and followed me everywhere, and sat on my lap for many hours at a time. But as well as that serene calmness, he also has an extremely playful streak, and loves bouncing around and entertaining himself with all the cat toys in the flat, which was lovely to watch. Bodhi is definitely one of the best cats I've ever known, and I learned heaps from watching his behaviour. I would highly recommend this sit to any serious cat-person.
Frank was a delight to care for! He was so sweet 🐯 He loved spending time in his garden, so was out there a lot, yet also did like to come and sit at the end of the bed or by my feet on the couch! He’s a truly gentle old soul. He also loved to drink water straight from the tap which made me giggle! Emma was lovely and explained everything thoroughly before my stay! We kept in touch via WhatsApp when needed ☺️ Emma’s home is equally lovely; the garden felt like a sun trap! Poole was beautiful to visit. Emma’s home is in a great location with plenty of shops and parks near by - Poole Park especially was a true nature spot to relax 🌳 🦢🦆 thank you Emma and Frank! Xx

This was a lovely sitting for many reasons: Perkins and Stan have to be the number one reason. They were a joy to be with, great characters, loveable and cute. Countryside and beach walks were great as they are good both on and off lead. The Welcome Guide will tell you that Stan does not like black labs but there are a few others he doesn't care for. Assertive control of the lead ensures all is well. We had a bus journey with them but there is plenty to do on foot. Mark and Amanda gave us a very warm welcome with a delicious meal upon arrival. They are great communicators, good sense of humour and flexible to fit in with your journey. Location is great, this must be the best area on the island. The local beaches are stunning and unspoilt. I mustn't forget the garden, beautiful colours and many seating areas to enjoy. Definitely recommend this to others.

I am never normally happy with leaving my little chihuahua, but seeing how happy and excited she is when we arrive is so nice. All the team are lovely and the dogs are so well looked after, they literally treat them as their own. Can not recommend enough.
I was so nervous about sending my puppy to doggy day care. However it’s the best choice I’ve made, my miniature dachshund absolutely loves it, pictures and updates are provided throughout the day! He comes back happy but exhausted too from all the playing! He’s made lots of friends and I could not recommend them enough. They also provide a pick up and drop off service which makes things a lot easier for me! Thank you all!🫶
Pugs and Pals, where can I start ? Our rescue Loki has been going regularly for just shy of a year now & the team at P&P have been so patient and welcoming of Loki. They have really helped him socialise in a safe, calm way with other dogs & humans! They are great with Loki when we’ve needed extra support , or odd days here and there. We receive regular updates & photos of Loki enjoying his time at daycare. Forever thankful to the team at Pugs and Pals.
Always leave out golden with pugs and pals when we go on holiday. He absolutely loves it there and we can relax knowing the he is loved and well looked after. Pugs and Pals Daycare is absolutely wonderful. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I know my dog is safe and well cared for here by well trained staff. Absolutely brilliant, so friendly and loving towards my Rupert. I use a activity tracker on my dog and this is the most active and adventurous I've seen him at a daycare. The daily photos are also so lovely

My pooch loves it, he gets a play day, I don't have to worry about him, they get taken to a paddock so can run off lead in a secure environment, he gets a lovely day playing with friends and comes home nicely worn out. Amazing place and lovely people.
Courtney is amazing. We have struggled for so long to find someone who can meet our ‘diva’ springer’s needs and Courtney has done this immediately. She is very caring, relaxed, flexible and took on board exactly what Meg needed instantly. Courtney is brilliant at communicating and extremely helpful when we have needed to change bookings due to work commitments. She has recommended new walks for us as a family to explore, all of which are suitable for our mad springer off the lead and very near our house. Meg needs to be run off the lead and have lots of exercise - Courtney is absolutely able to offer this. Courtney recently looked after our dog and cat whilst we were away. She's also been giving our older dog some lessons. She is patient, clearly thinking about his individual needs whilst also being willing to engage in useful discussions with me, so I can also be trained to work better with him! A very good job all around and I would highly recommend.

Courtney is just the best! My 6 year old Labrador had only been In Kennels once and hated it as a much younger dog. I have recently moved to the area and had to find somebody to help me with my dog. Beach Buddies have been looking after our dog, Bruce, for over 5 years and the fact he gets beyond excited as we turn into their road speaks volumes. Disgusting behaviour of waiting till dog owners have flown out the country to then say they are kicking dog out...... Withholding money leaving owners in a very distressed state. Deletes reviews on page and any negative feedback which misleads people into be leaving they offer a 5* service. Absolutely shocking and disgusting behaviour from a business Have edited this as cannot respond to your reply.... I think you should take this up with the dog owner rather than assume I am the owner (which I'm not) ... The reason you state on here is not the reason they were given, this review is based on the way they have been treated and not given time to find alternative accommodation for him. And you do delete posts from your page as they have been removed and people blocked. There are always problems in business but the way they are delt with effects your reputation, maybe this should have been considered rather than leaving a family distressed 100's of miles away in another country the day after they fly out!

Mr Bob my 8 month old Labrador goes to Oh My Dog every week when I’m working. Juliet and Eugene have created an amazing facility for the dogs where they play and socialise. Juliet has helped me so much with advice along the way with Bob. I love the photos and videos I get sent of him during the day. He loves Jules he can’t wait to get in her van when he sees her 🖤🐾 I would highly recommend their business for your dog. I totally trust Bob in their care 💯
My 2 young rescues absolutely love it here! Juliet and Eugene obviously genuinely care for all the dogs and know them really well. I always feel like I'm leaving them in safe hands. They come back exhausted from adventures in the woods and playing on the equipment which is great! Highly recommended.
My puppy Teddy went to Oh My Dog for daycare while we were camping near by. Juliet was kind, accommodating and supportive throughout and Teddy had a lovely time. I highly recommend oh my dog, especially for those who aren't a fan of putting their pups in kennels!
Highly recommended Oh My Dog. Juliet and Eugene are lovely people who definitely care about the health and overall wellbeing of your dog when under their care. They have been very accommodating with our Great Dane who has been going now for several months and thoroughly enjoys it, and we are content knowing that she is well looked after. Juliet and Eugene provide updates, videos and photos during the day and are upfront and honest if any issues arise. Happy dog and owners 😊.
Juliet and Eugene have created something truly special with Oh My Dog. We have a sweet and very nervous rescue, plus we are first-time dog owners with our own confidence issues, none of which were judged or dismissed by these wonderful kind folk. Juliet made me and our girl Alice feel safe and welcome immediately, and went above and beyond to help us acclimate. We visited multiple times, increasing her time in the facility with each session based on observing her behaviour and body language. I learnt so much! While it is still unclear if Alice will ever be fully joyful to enter a roomful of dogs, her confidence and ours have been positively impacted by this kind of safe socialisation in ways that have changed our lives. Our trust in each other has grown, our bond is stronger and this has opened so many doors for her quality of life to increase. Thanks to her 'exposure therapy' with Juliet and all the other gorgeous pups at Oh My Dog, Alice has now made multiple new dog friends locally, and is enjoying off-lead time at a dog-friendly beach. I don't think these things could have happened without Oh My Dog, and Juliet and Eugene's wisdom, generosity and kindness.
Absolutely cracking service, friendly staff and a great environment for the dogs; our little sprocker spaniel Tilly had a fab day here playing with the other dogs and the staff. She was worn out! We received lots of updates and videos which helped settle our minds whilst our pup was “in nursery” lol thank you so much for fitting us in!
We are so fortunate to have found Juliet and Eugene at Oh My Dog, they are the most kind, caring, gentle and lovely humans and have an amazing passion for dogs which was apparent from the moment we met them. Our whippet has been spending one day a week with them for over a year and is always very happy to go in when we drop him off. He has such a good time enjoying lots of play, socialisation, an afternoon snooze and enjoys lovely woodland walks each day where he can let off some steam with zoomies. Juliet and Eugene are so knowledgable about dogs and their behaviour and personalities and we completely trust them with our dog who means the world to us! We can't recommend "Oh my Dog" enough. We were looking for a place where we could drop our dog off whilst we explored the area looking for our new house. We took our little Jack Russell to see Juliet and Eugene initially for half a day to see how she would get on. She had a great time interacting all the other dogs and we booked her in for several more sessions. Both Juliet and Eugene adore dogs and are patient and caring. It's a shame we are moving to a different area as we're going to find it hard to find a place as good as theirs. Thank you to both of you.
5* and more. Cannot recommend Emma and family enough to look after your dogs. Our boy has stayed a couple of times, the most recent being a 15 night stay. He was so loved and looked after during his stay there, I felt completely comfortable being abroad knowing he was being so well looked after. I loved the photo updates from Emma, and when I got home I could see just how much my boy loved Emma, her husband and children. Will not hesitate to leave him there again when we go away. I couldn’t have asked for a more caring or kind person to look after our elderly dog woody. Emma made us feel at ease straight away and won our dog over with a piece of chicken on arrival! Emma made sure to update us throughout the day and sent photos of him resting and playing. The best sign was that he was sad when she left!
Emma is the perfect dog-walker and carer; she is so kind, knowledgeable and very professional. I booked her to look after our 3 spaniels for 14 hours on my daughter’s wedding day. She also came along to meet them the day before. Emma was lovely with them and took great care to reassure them during all the wedding chaos as they were unsettled by being in a strange place with lots of noise. One of my dogs was unwell on the day and Emma dealt with her so well. I was very grateful she was there, as were the dogs who really liked her! Emma put in a very long day for us and took the worry away on what was a very special day for our family. I can highly recommend Emma and will definitely be asking her to look after my dogs again. She’s a treasure!
Teddy adores Emma as she is such fun and he loves his walks. As a Cockerpoos he can be full on but Emma gets him to behave correctly. Always reliable and fully knowledgeable about animals. She has also cared for a friends cats. Teddy also enjoys overnight stays. Cannot praise her enough. Lovely lady, great service.
So trustworthy and flexible. We had never used a dog sitter/walker before but Emma took all our worries away. She has looked after our small terrier and retriever pup so well when we are at work and provides us with regular updates. Emma is really professional but also relaxed and friendly - someone you can happily have in your home and helps you feel really at ease with leaving your pets. We can’t recommend Dartmouth Canine Care enough!
Even though Emma advertises dog care, and we have a cat, we enlisted her twice this year to come visit our cat at our home every day when we were away. Each trip was 2 weeks long, and Emma fed her and gave her plenty of fuss and attention (when Miss Cat made an appearance...). Emma also kept houseplants from dying and post from piling up. She was totally reliable, irrespective of crazy Devon traffic due to road closures, or dreadful weather. Based on our girl's reaction, Emma is as good with cats as with dogs. We came home each time to a very contented kitty. We have total confidence in Emma and her care for our cat and our home. So pleased we found her! Thank you Emma!
Let me start by saying that I am extremely particular when I choose someone to look after my dogs. They have to be perfect. I have interviewed many people who haven’t made the grade. This may sound harsh, but because I’m asking someone to look after my dogs, who can’t speak and tell me what’s happening, because I have five large/working breed dogs, this has to be someone I feel has enough presence, capability and confidence to manage them. I have to really trust this person. From the second I met Emma, and not only my happy, waggy labs and retriever were pleased to meet her, but my neurotic “gah! New people!” spaniel also wanted to get involved, I just knew. I was leaving my dogs with Emma whilst we were all on holiday, so I had to have extra confidence in her as I wasn’t near my vet etc. I didn’t doubt her for one minute. Emma is lovely! She’s kind, caring, flexible, punctual, calm, understanding, professional and just all in all lovely! (She also takes great pictures of your pooches!) My daughter met Emma the second time she looked after the boys for us and she said “I know exactly why you trust Emma, she’s got that good person vibe. I know why you trusted her with the dogs straight away.” And that’s it really. Emma is brilliant. If you’re looking for someone to look after your dogs in The South Hams, then may I recommend Emma? Because you really won’t find anyone better.

Emma looked after Bear for us when we needed to be out for day but couldn’t take him with us. He is very particular about who he likes and dislikes but took to her immediately and didn’t miss us at all. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
Emma is really friendly, completely trustworthy and reliable. She goes out of her way to be accommodating and always gives me an update and photos of playtime and walks. My greyhound Freddie absolutely adores her!
Gentian hill pet hotel have been looking after our two greyhounds for three years now, and what an awesome job they do. Jack absolutely loves running around with his sister Willow, and also both love being fussed over by all staff especially willow. They always come home absolutely worn out for at least a week. Our dogs are treated so well, and it's like they're the only two at hotel, because from the time they arrive, they know as do we, they're in safe hands. We can't recommend this place for your pets enough. All animals get treated like royalty. The place from car park to reception is clean, tidy and little treats in reception. The transfer from animals going in and out is extremely smooth. Staff are always so courteous and friendly. They always put us at ease if we have issues, which I must add we haven't ever had issues. They post videos or photos of all your babies, so you can see them having fun. Thank you for looking after our two babies, we always send you photos back to their crash out state after. We highly recommend it for your pets.
Our experience with Gentian was excellent. We had our dog groomed b4 his stay at Gentian so he smelled and looked gorgeous, when we picked him up after 10 days stay, he looked and smelled exactly the same. All the equipment we sent him was washed and clean and Max looked happy and healthy. Staff were extremely friendly and supportive.
First time using a Pet Hotel versus Kennel. I drove 8 hrs back from Sheffield to pick up the dog. I was told to call ahead if picking him up on a different day. I called over 40 times and line busy!!!!!!. I arrived at Kennels and explained why not called ahead and said I'd wait in car whilst they got dog showered and ready. I was told dogs aren't bathed before return, I asked if I could use the outdoor shower facilities and told no, this was for the horses only. So after driving 8 hours solo, my first job after unpacking car was to bathe the dog. So I had to drive to local pet shop to use facilities as dog to heavy to use bath and no back access to house. Bedding was filthy and so was collar and lead. I would call to discuss my concerns but landline doesn't work! I was informed land line often goes down! Why wasn't I informed that phone is problematic. I was promised a FB video, no video ever posted. I have never had a dog returned from kennels without being washed prior to pick up. This is no hotel! I feel compelled to write a response to my review. There is no FB video of my dog on I've scrolled through to the 23rd April 2023. It's vital an owner can get hold of the place their dog stays, if you have problems with temperamental phone lines then let your customers know in advance. I've never heard of kennels not washing dogs on return. I understand you are upset by my post but I am upset. When I spoke about the phone lines to staff I didn't get an apology for the distress it caused me. It was just blamed on BT. Why couldn't I use the showers? In view of response I've changed review to 1 star
I was so nervous leaving our dogs in kennels for the first time , especially as one is quite anxious! They have come back to us their usual happy and bouncy selves. I won’t be so worried next time, the only place I will trust with my fur babies. Thankyou all staff for taking such good care of them.
Our 3 Dachshunds had an amazing time at Gentian Hill Pet Hotel. This was the first time that we’ve used a kennel, and the team there were fantastic and answered any questions or concerns that we had. One of our boys is super anxious, and needs medications for this - and this was no trouble at all. It was great seeing the Facebook updates, and seeing them really enjoy themselves. We’re super thankful for the team there, and will happily use them again.

Gentian hill pet hotel has been a fantastic home from home for our boy. He's an XXL dog and they homed him in one of the biggest kennels. He had a paddock to roam free in and wasn't mixed with any other dog. Which wouldn't be a problem with him as he's friendly and socialised, however you don't want your dog being given a bad experience of meeting another dog when your not there. So this is fantastic for that. He was the happiest boy being dropped off and picked up. Smooth transition on both occasions. He will be returning many times going forward. They are fantastic!

Our cat has serious medical issues but this was not a problem. They just took it in their stride. They took great care of our old boy and everything was fine. Lovely people. Delighted with the service provided by Paws Pals. After an initial meeting, where we had the opportunity to discuss our pet’s needs, the service was very easy to use. We’ve used them on four occasions so far and Julia and Mike are absolutely reliable and we can see that our cat has been well cared for. We will continue to use this business for her.

Julia looked after our cat Phoenix when we went away on one of our many holidays. It was great that we had the piece of mind that he was safe in his own home and couldn't speak highly enough of the service provided. Just to see Phoenix relaxed when we returned was all the value we needed. Julia is prompt reponding to any e-mails and would not use anyone else if we were still back in the UK. We first contacted Paws Pals 5 years ago when my wife and I were both travelling extensively. At the time we needed a cat sitter for two cats for 6 weeks. Since then we have used them frequently for long and short periods of time. Over the years we have had many difficult requests, for example we adopted a stray tom cat 2 years ago that had to be kept apart from the other cats for a month and during that time we had to be away for a couple of weeks. Julia, who owns Paws Pals, did not mind in the slightest and got on with everything without any issues. We now have 3 cats who all need feeding different food, at different places and one of them is an indoor cat who requires a litter tray. I have to say Julia has been amazing over the years and we owe her so much. She is super responsive, efficient and flexible and we trust her completely. The cats never seem to miss us when we get back.
We've used Julia to feed our two cats for three years and have been very happy customers. We always come back to a clean and tidy kitchen and happy cats, and Julia is always very responsive to emails, both before and during the cat-sitting.
I met Ollie and Emma (Paws Pals) as my lovely friendly neighbours, and was delighted to have them looking after my two cats for the past few years while I've been on holiday. They not only provide an excellent and reassuring service for the humans, but very obviously love getting to know new cats. It is evident that they genuinely care for them. They get extra points for not balking at the sight of my fiddly water dispenser!
I had to leave my darling little Teddy for the first time ever with Jo as a dog sitter and I have to say initially I was so apprehensive as he has always been looked after at home. I could not have been more happy and cannot thank Jo enough. Teddy had the time of his life, made amazing fur friends, was taken on lovely walks and even developed some new passions that I never knew he had! Jo sent loads of videos and texts whenever I asked how he was and I truly cannot be more happier. Ted came back with a spring in his step , totally relaxed and contented to the extent I worry he is bored now he is home! To see him snuggled in with her dogs and having such a good time made my holiday go so much more smoother knowing he was in capable, loving and superb hands. I have met Jo on several occasions when she has brought her client’s dogs to me for grooming. Jo always goes above and beyond with dogs in her care, she has a very caring nature and has rescue dogs herself, she understands dogs needs and behavioural patterns. I would highly recommend Jo to anyone looking for someone to care for and exercise their fury friend.
Jo is a fantastic caring person who has a vast canine knowledge and our 2 dogs are always excited to see her which says it all. Would highly recommend and is much nicer than putting your dog into a kennel especially if they are rescue dogs, which she has a lot of knowledge about.

Gemma is an absolute god send when it comes to our boy Oscar! Oscar has been walking with Gemma for just under a year and I have found her reliable, professional and a real dog lover. Oscar has previously been some what challenging for other walkers but Gemma has reassured me that by working together we get the consistency and commitment that Oscar needs. When I get home Oscar is clearly well exercised and enjoying his nap after his walks. Communication is great and Gemma is very accommodating if we need to change days around due to work commitments. High recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I can’t speak highly enough of Gemma. If I were more organised, I would have written a review months ago. My dog adores her and she’s professional, loving and cares for all dogs as if they were her own. I trust Gemma implicitly and feel such relief that my beloved retriever is having such fun when I can’t walk her. It’s brilliant for socialising too. A pup’s play date! Its lovely to know that while I'm at work our dog Arlo is out having the time of his life with Gemma. Gemma is extremely reliable, trustworthy and fantastic value for money as Arlo gets an adventure everyday! The thing thats strikes me most about Gemma is how much she genuinely cares for him and all of her dogs and clients. I could not recommend her highly enough.

Gemma loves the dogs she walks like her own family. I only have to mention her name and my dog is racing to the window to look for her. Her professionalism, patience and love of dogs is why I can feel safe whenever my dog is with her and I am able to highly recommend her.
So pleased to have found Gemma for my pup Smartie. She came and did a house visit to meet Smartie and chat to me. She then started taking smartie out with other dogs from a young pup and he has just come on leaps and bounds. Well socialised and very responsive to recall. He comes back having had just the best time. When he sees Gemma through the door he cannot get to her fast enough, he just adores her. Gemma is reliable and takes the upmost care of her charges I highly recommend her services.
Gemma is fabulous! Her passion for dogs was very apparent on her 1st meeting my young goldendoodle. They go on a wide variety of walks and I love it when i get photos of their expeditions. When I’m on a long day at work it’s great knowing my dog is having a fun time.Thank you Gemma!
Gemma is great with our 5 month old Bertie. She looks after him with so much care and love. Bertie has a great time every day with Wildwood walkies. Would thoroughly recommend Gemma for dog walks.
