Staying at J Carol’s house was a dream. She thought of everything we could possibly need and her house instantly made us feel right at home. Waking up to the sound of birds and opening the doors to let the breeze in was a lovely way to start the morning, and the view from the backyard pool is incredible. We saw howlers and toucans and all kinds of beautiful birds right outside. Playa Carrillo is 10 minutes down the hill and hands down the prettiest beach we’ve ever seen in Costa Rica. And being so close to Samara was great for grabbing dinner, shopping, surfing, or hanging in the evenings. We got to meet June for a few hours on our way out and she was such a sweetheart. Truly, everything was amazing! We’re so thankful to have had this opportunity.
I had a lovely cosy stay with Betty and Berta, who are adorable and affectionate and very easy to stay with. Plenty of good walks from the front door, including the ruins of Weeting Castle which is enclosed so Betty could have a dash around. We went in the car to Brandon Country Park - the girls were great in the car and enjoyed the smells of squirrels in the woods.. They are fine being left so I was able to visit family who lived nearby over Christmas and then happy to come back to an enthusiastic welcome from both of the girls. Grace and Venan were in touch easily to explain and check things with.
We had a wonderful 5 day sit in Juliet’s beautiful home with the gorgeous Tara and Bula. Juliet invited us to stay the night before she left and made us feel so welcome. The house and garden are stunning, with fantastic views. There are so many beautiful walks right on the doorstep and even a really nice pub right next door! The highlight of our stay has to be Tara and Bula! They are such sweet girls. Tara loves a cuddle and a play and chats away to you all day! Bula is a bundle of energy who brings you toys at every opportunity, she’s a happy bouncy girl and super cuddly. We’re missing them already! Thank you Juliet for a fantastic stay x

Cathy & Hans were very welcoming when we arrived! They had fresh croissants ready the next morning for breakfast and we had a nice chat before they got on the road. The dogs are easy! Seriously… no walks. Hetty is a bit timid but loves a pet and cuddle a few times a day. She adores being outside on beautiful sunny days. QT is an instant friend. She loves attention, cuddles while watching TV and petting whenever you’re up for it. She’s not a big outdoor fan especially when it’s hot. Barry is the smallest of the bunch but makes up for his size with personality. He enjoys pets and his chew toys but isn’t really into cuddles. They all LOVE treats and napping which makes our visits with them easy. The house is lovely and the guest bed is very comfortable. When it’s warm a swim in the pool is perfect in the afternoon. We sent daily updates and Cathy was always quick to respond to any questions. They left us some delicious wine which was very thoughtful. We definitely recommend this sit and would gladly sit for Cathy & Hans again!
It was a pleasure being with Leo and Sabbia, such sweet dogs! Communication was excellent, with clear directions, and Lisa was available and responsive while away. I will look forward to next time!
