This house sit was AMAZING! Ulf and Sabine are very welcoming and made sure all our needs were met! We stayed in a small house on the property that was very comfortable and cozy. Communication with them was very easy and clear, and they were quick to answer any questions we had. The location itself is just stunning - right on the lake with a beautiful sandy beach, as well as trails in the woods just off their driveway.

Caring for the horses, chickens, cats and dog was lots of fun and a very simple routine to follow. The horses are quite friendly and curious - Luna will follow you around if you spend any time in the pasture with her! I was so impressed with how well mannered they are and easy to work with, especially with cleaning their feet.

We felt like real farmers and got to spend our weeks here doing lots of small jobs around the property (installing a dock ladder and edging, driving the tractor to rake the horse enclosure, roto-tilling the chicken coop, mowing the lawns, etc etc) and spending time with the animals. Most of these jobs were not mandatory, more like "if we felt like it". We also did lots of kayaking and hiking, had a fire and sat out in the sun when the weather was nice. There is lots of wildlife here: eagles nest on the property, bears, white tailed deer, elk, coyotes, etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and were sad to leave! If you are considering this house sit and have experience around horses, this is the house sit for you! Oh and Schoko is the BEST dog - you will enjoy her company and cuddles for sure!

This housesit was just what we needed and we are grateful that Chris and Leo took a chance on us. The oceanfront home is well-appointed and while it feels like it's in a quiet small town, it's literally a 4-minute drive or 25-min walk to North Nanaimo's best shopping. Lantzville is a gem! The kitties are an absolute treasure and the highlight of the house. We already miss their daily affection, cuddles and darling personalities. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed spending time with them. We also had a special canine visitor for a week -- Stormy, the world's easiest and sweetest dog. If you love dogs and have the chance to sit Chris' daughter's dog during your stay, you will fall in love with her. Bring your binoculars, you'll likely see humpback whales from the living room window.

We had a lovely time at Lucy and Jamie’s place in the beautiful village of Halse. Conveniently located just under a 20-minute drive from Taunton, it was easy to explore the surrounding areas( Lynton/Lynmouth are a must!) while still enjoying the tranquility of the countryside.

Halse is a quaint and quiet village, full of charm and character. The incredible view from the backyard of the house is simply breathtaking, and we thoroughly enjoyed many peaceful moments there, soaking in the serene landscape.

Bentley and Pozza, were absolutely delightful and a joy to care for. We miss them very much! Bentley’s playful and affectionate nature and Pozza’s independence made our stay even more enjoyable.

There are plenty of wonderful walks in the village and surrounding areas, perfect for anyone who loves nature and the outdoors.

Lucy and Jamie, our hosts, were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were always available for any questions we had. Their warm hospitality added to the overall experience.

We had a lovely time in Halse and recommend this pet and house sit to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with some sweet and friendly furry friends 😊

Colleen
I had a great time sitting for Skippy and Dazzie for a week in their Somerville apartment. Colleen and Sachi are wonderful people. I met everyone a few weeks before the sit and was immediately struck by the warmth and calm of their household. The cats were very sweet- Skippy being very energetic and cuddly and Dazzie being shy but obviously a sweetie. Colleen and Sachi covered everything I might like to know and offered every convenience one might need. They followed up with an Instructions document which is always nice. The kitties loved to play, cuddle and just hang out, depending on their mood or whether I needed to work. I loved this cozy, snowy stay looking after these cuties!
