My experience housesitting for Emma was truly delightful! From the moment I arrived, Emma welcomed me with warmth, making sure I felt right at home. She took the time to familiarise me with the house and even gave me a tour of Cowes high street. Throughout my stay, communication with Emma was excellent, as she kept me updated on her return journey. Taking care of Rocky, her charming dog, was an absolute pleasure – he was well-behaved, relaxed, and a joy to be around. Cowes is just a 5-minute walk away, offered plenty of cafes, shops, pubs, and scenic seafront walks. Saying goodbye to Rocky was difficult; he's such a loving dog, and I can't wait to see him again. Overall, I highly recommend housesitting for Emma!
Collie was a wonderful dog to look after. We had a great time and became very fond of her. She is a very placid dog and never once in two weeks caused us any reason for concern . The house was exactly as described and we really enjoyed our stay. There are so many places to walk Collie, but do take note of Lesley's mention of needing a car, as they are all a short drive away. If we didn't live 12,000 miles away we would love to come back again.
Caroline and Tim are so kind and thoughtful. We felt safe and comfortable in their home. The home is quaint and cozy—not to mention clean and comfortable. The garden is lovely. Everything we needed was either right there at the house, or a short drive away. The 2 ‘boys’ are amazing and very well behaved. Our instructions for their care were clear and simple. It was such a pleasure to be able to spend time with such cuddly pups and go on a few adventures with them (mainly into the forest, but they also loved visiting their Granny, as did we!). We were able to communicate easily with Caroline when necessary, but had no problems at all. We are grateful to have met Tim and Caroline, Mungo and Rocket (and all the lovely neighbours as well!). We miss them all and will definitely see them again! ❤️ Thank you again for everything.
This was a short sit for 3 nights. Diane and Brian made us feel comfortable from the first phone call. We met them a few weeks prior at their home as we wanted to take our 9-year-old Yorkie/Chihuahua with us. We wanted to see if their pack would accept her. No problem at all as the dogs were very accepting of her. Diane and Brian have a very comfortable home that overlooks a large lake. Too bad we did out sit in the winter as it would have been great to sit outside and enjoy the fabulous view. The 5 dogs were quite a pack. They are definitely “Velcro” dogs. They loved to sit right beside you and get all the cuddles they could. It is a great thing Diane and Brian had a king size bed, cause the whole pack was with you at nights. So if you do not like to share your sleeping quarters, I wouldn’t suggest this sit would be good for you. The 2 big dogs, Fenton and Baxter, would give you a low growl if you tried to move them or tell them to move over. Most definitely was not an aggressive growl, just a teenager growl that said, “why are you making me move”. I got a chuckle out of it. The smaller senior dogs have more issues with sight, but they managed fairly well. Walking them was a breeze. The home has an extremely long driveway which allows you to walk them off leash. Great for 5 dogs The home is approximately 15 minutes from Yarmouth where you have all the amenities that you need
Chris is very kind and down to earth. She’s definitely the kind of person you’d want to grab a drink with. Her place is very modern, open, clean, and comfortable. Everything you need is right on the main floor and it’s all very spacious; it was a comfortable stay. Pepper is awesome dog. She is so well tempered and easy to take care of. All she wants is to be around you and to cuddle when you sleep. She’s always ready to run around and play but is also happy to just sit and read with you or soak up some sunshine. 10/10 would steal.
We just got back from our Christmas stay at Peter's cosy house in St Austell. Peter went above and beyond, organising a visitor's parking permit for my car in advance and leaving filled stockings hanging from the fireplace for my daughter and my partner's two girls. Not just that, but there were two flutes and a bottle of champagne awaiting us on the dining room table and a laid fire in the wood-burner. We were told to help ourselves to anything in the fridge. The pets are lovely - Finley, a cocker spaniel who will eat anything including the cat food, George, who is mellow and kind (and requires a nappy when inside the house), and Pepper - a wonderfully affectionate cat who is in great shape for such an age. Peter left a map with three local routes and the dogs and I went walking every day, mostly through drizzle and rain. There is a park adjoining the back of the house so it's easy to stretch your and their legs whenever you fancy. I never saw another soul in that park, so it's like a private garden. We then dried paws and the dogs enjoyed being part of the bustle of the house with the children playing around them or watching films with them relaxing on the floor before them. There are beautiful beaches within a 10-minute drive as well as Truro and St Austell within easy reach. So we swam on Boxing day, which appears to be a tradition in these parts :) Overall, a brilliant Christmas in a lovely environment with lovely animals. Communication was crystal clear and we felt taken care of even as we were taking care of Peter's house and pets. Many thanks to Peter, Finley, George and Pepper! Matt
