We spent a fabulous 5 weeks at Johnathon and Henri’s fantastic home in the Tarn. We just loved looking after the 4 dogs, and up to 5 cats; who were no trouble at all during our stay, and were a delight to look after. The gite accommodation was well above average, and was very spacious and comfortable; we simply enjoyed every aspect of our time there. Johnathon was a extremely supportive of us for our entire stay, nothing was too much trouble, and we had a wonderful interaction with both Johnathon and Henri, often by WhatsApp and FaceTime, and it was always entertaining! We’ve both feel that we’ve made two new friends, and we will definitely keep in touch with them in the future. Johnathon & Henri, thank you both for the opportunity to sit for you in 2020.
We always had great expectations of Sonoma – and it never let us down. In fact, Sonoma exceeded all our expectations. Peter and Jane are amazing hosts and live in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood of Sonoma. Their home is neat and tidy and has all the modern-day appliances one could need. We were invited to arrive the day before the sit actually started and were given a comprehensive handover. This was followed by a trip into town for an amazing dinner - what a welcome this was. Meeting Auggie and Ziggy was the highlight of Sonoma. Auggie is a red cockapoo and just loves people and taking day trips. We literally took him everywhere with us. He is sooo good in the car that it’s easy to forget he’s there. He especially loves going up the mountain just behind the house and to his favorite dog park – where everyone knows him. We had a wonderful time driving around to all the puppy-friendly wine farms in Sonoma, Napa, Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Kunde wine farm is Auggie’s favorite because that’s where they give him biscuits. At home, he loves following you around and sitting on your lap whilst watching TV. He is so well trained and well mannered – what a joy. Then there’s Ziggy – he’s a beautiful 18 pound Maine Coon that also loves to be brushed and loved…..but on his terms. He also loves playing games. Although he sleeps most of the day he’s always on the lookout to escape into the lovely natural garden. At night both Ziggi and Auggie sleep on your bed but you’d never know they were there. Auggie and Ziggy love each other. They spend a lot of time playing together, grooming each other and sleeping side by side. Auggie is very protective of Ziggy. We managed to explore a lot of Sonoma and the surrounding areas as Peter and Jane lent us their car. Thanks, guys it really made a huge difference to us….and of course Auggie. We really didn’t want to leave Sonoma, Auggie and Ziggi when the time came. I think Peter sensed this and very kindly offered to run us down to San Francisco….just in case :-) lol. Thanks again Peter for this it really made things much easier for us. We really are going to miss the lovely family and home.
It was a real pleasure sitting for Anna and Martyn. Their house is lovely and very comfortable. There are plenty of great woodland/ creek -side walks straight from the door-step. The pub and village shop are also within walking distance. Lila happily came in the car with us to explore Dartmoor and the coastal village of Noss Mayo. Anna and Martyn were very friendly and welcoming and showed us some local walks as well as treated us to a very convivial meal the night before their departure. Lila was a delight to care for, she took to us straight away and soon became our new best friend. The cats were no problem and obviously enjoyed having human company in the house, but on their own terms. We would whole-heartedly recommend this house sit in it’s lovely setting without hesitation.
