Sitting at Higham Farmhouse was a pleasure from start to finish. We truly felt at home and deeply content in this beautiful old structure. Apple and Ian were incredibly welcoming, kind, and hospitable. The house, while a work in progress as it's being lovingly restored, is just stunning. All the major rooms are finished to a historically accurate and high standard. We were so happy being there that we hardly left the property. Ethel, Doris and Maude are extremely well-behaved dogs who were a delight to care for. They are all very sweet and have distinct personalities and charming individual nuances. We had thought it might be difficult caring for 3 dogs at once, but they are such a bonded pack it was more like caring for one dog with more moving parts. We enjoyed leashed walks through the fields in the surrounding area, especially the walk to the very old St Margaret of Antioch Church. The chickens and chicks were mellow and appreciated us visiting them throughout the day. They were no trouble at all, and the rooster, Allen, is quite gentle and not an early riser. We also watered plants every other day and enjoyed some delicious produce and flowers from the gardens at Apple's invitation. We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to care for this enchanting property as well as the plants and animals that are lucky enough to live there. We hope to visit again some day in years to come and see the House, Apple, Ian and the kids as time goes on. Many thanks and Blessings to all.
