We had a lovely time at this meticulously kept country home. This is a beautiful property and it was a treat to enjoy the silence with the exception of birdsong. Most importantly, Tessy is such a sweet, gentle dog who loves to snuggle but will also go off on her own when she wants to. The only time she barked was when a hooting owl was hanging out in a backyard tree. That was special to see and Tessy knew when she was ready for Mr Hoot to move on. We highly recommend this sit for those who would enjoy a nature-ful experience with a lovely dog.

Josh and Ashley’s home, stay, sit and watching after Ruben & Maisie for the week couldn’t have gone any better. They had clear directions and instructions for feeding, walking, taking care of them, and handling everything around the home. I appreciated everyone’s clear communication, direction, hospitality in their home, and perfect dogs. It was such a dream sitting for Ken and Cindy. I had the best time with Josephine and Alice. Jo had to be one of the most affectionate cats I've ever encountered, and while Alice took a little longer to warm up, she was also such a sweetheart (and a big cuddler). Ken and Cindy were gracious hosts - they made me dinner, took me for coffee, and showed me around town before heading on their trip. I had the chance to really get to know them and the exciting lives they've led and continue to lead - some of the coolest travel stories! And their home is beautiful, nestled in the woods and sitting right on the water but with quick access to town. Sitting for Ken and Cindy is a great opportunity for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts (and of course kitty lovers). Would love for the chance to sit for Ken and Cindy again!!
Mal and Andy were wonderful people, they welcomed us very well. Luna is a pet lover, super active and loved the kids. Unfortunately we stayed for a short time, but we would definitely come back to take care of her. We recommend your sit.

The Grand Fur Lodge has a team of incredible and caring people. We had an unfortunate experience with a sitter over our holiday vacation and ended up getting him transferred here to the Grand Fur Lodge. I can't say enough about how incredible everyone here was throughout the process. They made the process as stressless as possible and you can tell they genuinely care about you and your animals. Can't thank them enough for giving us the peace of mind of knowing our fur baby, Mac was being taken care of well while we were away. Highly, highly recommend and will absolutely be using the Grand Fur Lodge to watch our baby again if we ever leave town.
Our dog has been attending day care here for about a month now, and is LOVING it! He excitedly whines in the car on the way and runs in as soon as we get to the door. The staff have all been amazing, and we feel really great about leaving Cairo here with them. It has been great for our pup to run off his energy a few days a week since both of us work from home.
Update 5/29/2024 - I just wanted to add on that we love absolutely everything about Grand Fur Lodge, not just the grooming! Dutch has also gone for daycare, boarding, and even one of their month group training sessions. He absolutely loves all the staff there. I really appreciate that the staff has a mind toward dog behavior and training. They make him behave as much, if not more, than we do at home. All of the staff supports our training efforts toward Dutch having to be calm before he can go say hi to someone, or that he has to wait before he goes through a door (which can be work with an energetic doodle!). Most doggie places that I've worked with in the past don't work on training with boarding/daycare clients at all! We are moving out of the area and will really miss Grand Fur Lodge! We love Grand Fur Lodge! Our pup, Dutch, is always so excited for his grooming appointments and comes home looking and smelling great. All of the staff is super nice and prices are reasonable! Highly recommend.
The Grand Fur Lodge has been nothing but a blessing to me. It almost seems wrong to share because I want them all to myself :) I moved here a few months ago after living in the same town for ten years. My dogs went to a doggy daycare there that they loved, but that was the only one they had ever been to. Needless to say, I was so nervous to start them somewhere new. The staff of The Grand Fur Lodge made it the easiest, most heartfelt transition ever. They kept a close eye on my dogs and how they were with new dogs and a new location. They were and still are patient with them, love on them constantly, work with them, and ensure their safety and health. Their customer service with humans is also outstanding! Very communicative, educational, and just flat out sweet people. 10/10 will continue with this facility as long as I’m here!!
Our three pups had a wonderful first boarding experience with Grand Fur Lodge! They were great about giving updates and answering questions while we were out of town and were extremely accommodating for our dogs needs!

Our pups are so shy and have had a difficult time making puppy friends. However, the team at Grand Fur has been working closely with our fur babes to increase their confidence and courage so that they are beginning to feel more at ease around their puppy peers. Penny and Leonard enter daycare with their ears and tails perked up and at the end of the day, come racing out with smiles on their faces, bouncing , prancing, and happy to have spent the day being active. Adam is a fantastic trainer. In just a few sessions, I have already noticed a big change with our headstrong rescue pup. Rather than quickly teaching him basic commands, Adam is taking the time to go at our pace. He is teaching me how a dog's mind works, how to read his body language and training me on how to be an owner of a rescue with challenges. Highly recommend.
Always working hard to keep the place clean, they never fail to have all the dogs being able to play with each other; especially the shy ones. This is the place to bring your pup if your looking for a calm, controlled place where your pups can run out that energy and be a dog
We have had really good experiences with GFL. They really work hard to make a safe and fun experience for pets, and we have our pup in once a week and the staff are all really nice. Would recommend
Great staff and excellent care for our fur babies. They treat them like their nieces and nephews! Very secure with double security latching and pets always on lead when moving around the property. They take care of everything. The add-ons are a real bonus for the pups who are rambunctious and playful.
we have two dogs that can be very tough to deal with are not particularly social, old and don’t really like unfamiliar people. It can be hard to find somewhere that will take them and care for them when they’re Such grumpy old men. Laurel acres is always happy to take them not worried about their attitudes and cares for them. This is one of the only places we trust with our tough little guys.
We visited here before bringing our kitty, because we had never left her anywhere but at home, but she needed medication while we were out of town. The employees were so sweet and let us take a look at the cat room, which made me feel SO MUCH better about leaving her. Just brought her home, and she is her silly self with not a care in the world haha. We will likely be back again!
Sookie was a 1st timer at almost 15. She’d never been to a boarder. The Cattery was clean, quiet & I know she was kept healthy & well cared for. Plus, she had food she had to have medicine in & that was no problem for them. I can’t say enough good things about Megan. She was an angel! She made my request of the bottom floor happen and did many other things to alleviate my fear and worry. The only mar was the weekend woman who checked us out. She was rude & abrasive. Wish I’d gotten her name, but I was a wreck because she wouldn’t let me see Sookie.
We had a last minute first time visit the staff was extremely helpful. Juni is an Australian cattle. Loves to herd.She did great.

Can't recommend them enough. My boy Stevie needs a little extra care, and wears a muzzle in public. I don't have to worry when he's at Laurel Acres. All of the handlers there are qualified and trained. They are also very responsive and give me sweet pictures of my boy when I'm away!
Laurel Acre is amazing. I've been boarding my dogs here for several years every time we went on vacation. My dogs are always taken good care of. They alway come back to me happy and healthy. I would highly recommend their service to other pet parents.
My pets are always excited when I bring them here! They pay attention to how our pets are doing and have given us a call when there are any issues that are medically significant. They have stayed there for up to two weeks and were in great spirits when I came to pick them up! It is a good bit of a drive out in the sticks for either location but in my opinion it’s worth the trip.
They did an amazing job with my Roxanne, very friendly when I arrived She had me answer a few questions as she made a record. Then I went and got my dog came in and they took her back. And called me when she was ready in about an hour or so awesome place. Thank you Kristen

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that she and her dogs Raven, Jonah, and Wally were a wonderful fit for my pup. Saw Wild Pups on instagram and that it is a local, women owned business. We wanted to support! Our dog cannot spend all day adventuring but, we did a meet and greet with Toby and are able to board with her pack. Our dog loves getting to hang out with the Wild Pups and Toby is fabulous to work with. I don’t know how she does it but, the dogs she works with are so fortunate. Words can't express the love my dog, Roo, and I have for Wild Pup Adventures. I moved to Portland in early 2020 and tried out a few different services, but I knew when Roo came home his first day on his adventure with Toby that this was the best one. Roo is a 3-year old golden retriever with a bossy attitude and endless energy and I have personally never seen him so tired as when he comes back from his weekly adventure. Toby, the owner/trainer, is truly a dog whisperer. Not only has she helped me with individual training sessions for Roo, but she manages to keep 6-7 dogs at her full attention the entire time she is out in the wilderness with them. Toby takes them to different terrain and places around Portland every week and her knowledge of the forest/beach/anywhere is incredible!! You can truly see the love in my dog's eyes when we walk up to her van and in all of the amazing pictures that she takes during the day. I moved to Bend recently and was SO sad to not be apart of WPA anymore. If anyone is looking for the best thing you can buy for your dog, I always recommend this service. I would give 150 stars if google let me, we will MISS YOU TOBY THANK YOU!!!
There are no adequate words that encapsulate how awesome Wild Pup Adventure is!!! Our wild pup Lucy has been adventuring with Toby and team since she was six months old and it's by far the best thing we could have ever done for our favorite furry family member. First of all, Toby is an incredible leader and small business owner. Her knowledge of dog care, training, wilderness, and safety is beyond impressive. The outdoor treks that Toby plans and executes for these pups make the rest of us who are stuck at work all day very jealous. We get to live vicariously through the beautiful photos that Tobi captures and shares with the parents after each adventure. Wild Pup Adventures is heaven on earth for dogs. Toby has taken her business model and turned it to a haven (and heaven) for dogs and owners alike. The dogs come home happy, fulfilled and exhausted, like they are meant to. There is nothing around comparable to the experience she provides and the dogs are able to experience life in ways that unfortunately most do not. Her experience, understanding and education of canine psychology is unparalleled and I only wish she could clone herself. Accept no substitutes. She and her years of experience are absolutely unparalleled. I love everything she does because she does it for her love for dogs and their quality of life. Only a true animal lover could possibly understand and appreciate what she does. She has extreme knowledge of dog breeds and their capabilities and which dogs can handle the experience and which can’t. She is picky about which ones she takes in because she cares about their quality of life and the experience they have. She’s very educated in all things based in animal science and is definitely one of a kind. I had a week long vacation out of the country and was very thrilled when I found Lori! I have never left my bunny with someone before for that long and was super nervous. Lori made me feel much better about the whole process by giving me access to the bunny room camera and her extensive knowledge on rabbits. I got to check on my little guy the whole time I was gone! Will definitely use Whisker Wise boarding the next time I’m out of town!
My three guinea pigs are very spoiled and precious to me, so it’s hard for me to leave them when we go out of town. I am so glad to have found Whisker Wise! Lori takes excellent care of my girls and responds readily to texts when I inquire about how they’re doing. They stayed with her for over two weeks this summer while we were visiting family and upon picking them up I could see they were happy and healthy (no lost weight, which happened at a previous place we boarded them at). She even gives them fresh veggies/tomatoes from her garden! Definitely recommend Whisker Wise. :)
Our guinea pigs Teddy and Domino were very well cared-for during our week and half away this month. The owner is super responsive to texts, understanding and responsible, and even sent us a cute video of our babies. :) Would definitely use again! Oh, and it was super affordable too!
Whisker Wise watched my two bonded English Lop Rabbits for about 17 days. Lori did such a good and attentive job in caring for them! They seem healthy and happy as can be. I also really enjoyed that Whisker Wise Animal Care and Boarding has cameras set up over the rabbit areas so you can check in on your rabbit at any time. Lori is also extremely kind and definitely cares about the animals themselves. When my rabbits ran out of a supplement/treat Lori went out and bought some more. I would definitely leave my Rabbits with Whisker Wise again!
When I went out of town for a week I was glad to find a place like whisker wise and someone like Lori to take care of my bunny. I've never boarded her before so I was a little apprehensive, but Lori assured me she would be very well cared for. She even offered to place her in a pen with a camera. It was so nice to see her on video whenever I wanted so I could check up on her and be able to move the camera around to see who she was rooming next to.The size of the pen looked very spacious and nicely set up with blankets. I would very much recommend Whisker Wise for any of your pocket pets and will definitely be using them again in the future!
I love Whisker Wise Animal Care & Boarding! Lori is absolutely wonderful and takes such good care of my rabbit. I never have to worry about him when I go out of town. She gives him the attention he needs and gives me updates on how he is doing. The setup she provides for rabbits is really nice and big. I used to board my bunny with my veterinarian, but I much prefer Whisker Wise. I have no reason to ever go to another boarder again!
Lori takes amazing care with the animals she watches. I was anxious to leave my newly adopted bunny for a week, but when I came back my sweet Maggie was even tamer than before! She has an amazing set up for bunnies (super cool modified room!) with toys and boxes and even little sitting pads for the bunns. She's super flexible about pick up and drop off and is very kind! She is awesome! Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience! Our senior bunny was well cared for during the 10 days we were out of town, and I loved being able to check on her via webcam. We will definitely be booking again the next time we go on a trip!
Having recently moved to the area, we were a little nervous with finding a new place to have our rabbits stay while we were out of town. Lori was great to talk to and put me at ease- additionally having a camera where we could view our buns to check in on them was a huge plus as well! We highly recommend Ginger Matyas for pet walking and sitting services! For the past couple of years, Ginger has cared for our beloved 12-year-old Labrador, Cash. Ginger watched our dog Ellie, which is no small feat. Ellie is an extremely active cattle dog who demands activity. Ginger was up to the task and they fell in love with each other. Ginger is so caring and kind with animals it is really a beautiful sight to see. She really connects with all animals. Ellie was happy and well cared for and we have used Ginger numerous times since then. Ginger is the BEST!!

Ginger is absolutely wonderful! She loves cats and knows how to give them exactly the attention they need while we're away. Our cat is very shy but Ginger was patient with him and now he comes out to play with her, which is very rare for him. She has also given us great advice and resources. She's prompt, kind, communicative, and great with cats. Couldn't recommend her more highly!
Ginger is the absolute best! She goes above and beyond for not only our cat, but for us and our home as well. We receive updates every visit which keeps us at ease, as we have an extremely shy boy. He finally opened up to her, which is a testament to her knowledge, skills and patience - now he loves when she stops by! All I can say is WOW - Ginger was amazing with my 2 cats when I had to go out of town. I am new to Portland and was nervous about finding someone to have come watch my cats for me in my home while I took my first trip out of town. I now have no qualms about future trips because I know my cats will be in great hands with Ginger and her team every time. She brought over toys and played with them and sent pictures/videos every day which was so great. I would 1000% recommend Ginger to anyone needing to find someone to trust their fur babies with!
Ginger has been taking care of my two cats for over two years and she is great! I have an 18 year old cat with early kidney disease and an 8 year old who is frightened of everything after being rescued by firefighters when my condo building had a fire in 2017. Ginger is patient with him and eventually gets him to come out from under my bed covers. My older cat just loves her and climbs all over her. During my last two week trip she came twice a day as it’s important for my older cat to eat regularly. She updated me with photos and videos, easing my anxiety at leaving them for so long. I totally recommend Ginger.
My dog loves his time here. He gets excited every time we drive by. And they seem to take very good care of him, and all the other dogs that come in.
We used a Dog Gone Good Place for playcare and boarding for over 12 years for our 2 golden retrievers until they passed and for the past 6 years for a golden retriever and border collie mix. They do a great job providing quality care and pay attention to details when boarding. Lynn and her staff are great and we appreciate their friendly service over the many years. Highly recommend!

All my beautiful hair got shaved off :( Update: His hair has still not grown back. When I brought my animal here to have him groomed, I specifically asked not to cut his hair. When I received him back I was told that the groomer just decided to go ahead and give him a fade cut. This is caused a lower quality of life for him due to his inability to properly regulate body temperature. It is appalling that you hire an employee groomers that don't understand types of dog hair. I took him to the professional groomer that had been grooming him the rest of his entire life and she was appalled at how horrible his hair looked and how damaged it now is.
100%, without a shadow of a doubt, the BEST doggy daycare I could’ve ever asked for. Every time I drive into the parking lot in the morning, the audible excitement my dog expresses when he sees where he’s going says it all. The owner, staff and their system is amazing. They’re extremely communicative and knowledgeable. I’ve often asked them for advice and every time they deliver. You won’t be disappointed with them. “A Dog Gone Good Place” is a truly fitting name, it’s the best. Thank You!

Attempted to bring my 6month old puppy. The lobby here can be chaotic, two unleashed dogs ran in while I'm checking in and both agreed aggressive to my pup. This place may be fine, but from my perspective it seems like chaos and outreach mentality rules and they just let them be crazy. I am taking my business to a day care that offers balanced care and legitimate socializing, not just chaos.
Our dog has gone here for years and we love it. She is in daycare but we also board her when we travel. They take very good care of her. She comes home tired, which is good for a husky. Staff is great, drop off and pick up are efficient. They also have grooming services, which is very convenient. Highly recommend if you are looking for daycare or boarding.
We have our golden doodle groomed every 8 weeks. He always looks great, smells good, and is ready on time.
I don't trust my dog's care to just anyone. After visiting multiple dog daycares I chose ADGGP. The staff is great to work with, I've never had a negative experience with anyone. Everyone is 100% professional and seems to really enjoy their job. Bobby grooms my dog and I highly, HIGHLY recommend him. He gives my dog the cutest cut and I get so many compliments from people on the street about his cut and how nice he smells. He's by far the best groomer I've ever worked with. I've boarded with them on many occasions and have always come home to a happy, healthy pup. Never a moments trouble. I'm sorry for the folks that had poor experiences but I can honestly say that I am 100% happy sending my dog here.
