We highly recommend having Carolyn and her husband pet sit! We have 3 dogs, which can be a lot, but we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing that they were well cared for while we were gone. They were great communicators and took great care of our dogs and house!
Sitting for and hanging with Bouncer was a joy. A very sweet guy who loves affection, but is also quite happy to do his own thing (which often includes a satisfying nap on the couch or in the bedroom). We became close buddies over the three week sit; I'll very much miss his "old man" quirks and bright spirit. Bouncy, if you're reading this, you rock. The budgies were an ease to care for. I was initially nervous about an "open cage" day (where the birds are free to fly about the living room), but I ended up really enjoying it. It was fun to have them out. And returning them to the cage turned out to be a very easy process. Antje and Jennifer are not only awesome hosts, but wonderful people as well. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable in their home, and were open (and attentive) to all my needs. Communication with them was smooth and easy throughout the stay. I wasn't expecting to leave this sit with two new friends, but I most certainly did. Their home is centrally located in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco, and has a beautiful view of Mission Creek and Oracle Park. There's a Gus's grocery store right across the street, and a Safeway just a few blocks away. And lots of coffee shops close by. The condo itself is modern, clean, and very cozy. There's also a nice gym in the building that I utilized often, and a sauna as well. I highly recommend this sit, and would happily do so again for Antje and Jennifer (and the pets) any time.
It was a delight for Michael and I to house and pet sit for Andy and Ann. Oscar and Watson that we nicknamed “the boys” were an absolute joy to look after. Both with different characters. Oscar(15yrs) mellow, wise, cuddly and loving. Watson (13yrs) a typical terrier Independent and aloof, and when he felt like it loving and cuddly, but only on his terms. Both laid back dogs who slept a lot in between walks. Watson was not a morning dog so some mornings he wouldn’t even wake up and stir until about 9 or 9.30 am so he didn’t always go on the morning walk. Oscar was up for a walk anytime. We walked Oscar twice a day. The location of the home is ideal for walking. Lots of walks surrounding the house. The “boys” knew them and we would just follow them. The house is located in the Wasdale valley which is stunning. It was a privilege each day to drink in the beautiful scenery while walking the dogs. An added bonus was the great pub which is walking distance of the house. Andy and Anne were great hosts. We met and stayed with them the night before they left on their vacation. We shared a lovely bottle of wine. Anne left us a gift of hand painted cards that she herself had done that were beautiful and thoughtful gift. They were of the valley and will remind us of our visit. We had a lovely bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. The house itself is clean, comfortable and uncluttered within everything that you would need. In particular we loved the wood burning stove in the living room which we used in the evening. Communication between Andy and Anne was great. We used a group app on WhatsApp so if it had any questions it was easy to get in touch. We would highly recommend this house/pet sit and if asked again we would not hesitate to go back again if free Sue and Michael Arbuckle. .
If I could give 10 stars for Debbie, John and Danny's sit, I would! This was such a purrfect experience. The house is new, beautiful and solidly built. I stayed here in winter and the house is super well insulated with radiant floor heating, baseboard heat and wall mounted splits. The house has a roof full of solar panels and I was told not to worry about any heating expense. The guest bedroom is do comfortable with quality flannel bedding and a private bathroom. Wifi was excellent. The house is streamlined and uncluttered making it easy to keep clean. Danny is the best cat I have ever spent time with! He likes to play, is highly intelligent, a watch cat who growls at deer in the yard, and affectionate. I loved meeting friends in Kennebunk and Durham, NH while I stayed here. Debby was so thoughtful to leave me a thank you gift. If you get the opportunity to sit here, jump for it!!!
A very big, heartfelt thanks to Nikki and Sundeep for choosing us to sit with Marmite and Vasco for a few days. We really had a lovely time. The cats were a delight to care for and we especially bonded with Marmite, in spite of her previous form as a standoffish, nervous girl. She was really very receptive to attention, especially around mealtimes! Vasco just got on with life - mainly sleeping interspersed with the occasional patrol of his garden to warn off intruders - them being the resident fox whom we also feed for Nikki and the lone big grey cat who was either a chancer or homeless - we could not decide. We met up with the family the day before the sit started and had a great time with them as they showed us around the house and the immediate neighbourhood. Everything was clearly explained and the sit went without a hitch. As previous sitters have mentioned, both Nikki and Sundeep are extremely warm and engaging people who have lots of wonderful life experiences (judging from the numerous photos around) to share. Their twins were also a delight to meet and were on eggcellent form being as it was Easter Sunday when we arrived. The whole family were humourous and welcoming and we really enjoyed our whatsapp communications with both Nikki and Sundeep before, during and after the sit. The house itself is so interesting and in a fantastic location for exploring lots of Bath's main sites on foot without the hassle of parking. We really took advantage of the weather and the independence of the kitties to get out for several hours each day on the tourist trail. We would definitely recommend this sit, especially if you are relatively fit - there are several flights of stairs in the house and hills to walk up around Bath! We loved it and we especially enjoyed meeting such an interesting family. We hope to be able to see them all again one day.
Ashley Marie is so kind and very concise and I love it! I love when our fur babies have a well managed routine and Ashley Marie has set that up perfectly for her pup! She and I communicated very well while she was away and I made sure that she was updated on how her pup was doing each day, which she appreciated! Annabelle is without a doubt my new favorite pup! She is super sweet and easy going (and just the cutest!) Ashley Marie has a beautiful home with great amenities and I felt very welcome while I was there in the neighborhood! She was even kind enough to deliver a entire welcome guide to her neighbor hood; complete with restaurant recommendations, (SN: You will thank her later if you go to Kounter as I LOVED that restaurant and their food!)! I would be happy to return whenever invited! 5 stars++ Thanks again Ashley Marie! ✨
We had an amazing stay at Cordula and Nick's home. We arrived the night before our sit started and we were able to meet their children and, most important, we met with Prince, who is a beautiful dog, so friendly and well behaved. On the first afternoon Cordula and Nick showed us around their neighborhood and showed us where we could go to get groceries, and where the bus stop was to go into the city of Zurich. Their home, pool and yard are very comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed our daily long walks with Prince, going thru the city of Uitikon all the way across beautiful fields and into the woods. Prince behaved excellent and we were able to let him off the leash at times so that he could run and be happy. At night, he would follow us into our bedroom and he decided that it was fun for him to sleep on the floor right next to us until the following morning. We were able a few times to take the bus into the city of Zurich and walk along the Zurich Lake and stroll along Old Town. On one occasion we took the little train up to Uetliberg which has breathtaking views of Zurich and its surroundings. On the way back we hiked all the way back to the house going thru the woods and beautiful areas. It was an amazing hike which took us about an hour to get back. We were very lucky because the weather was super warm during our stay. On our last day, we walked downhill towards the bus station and were able to go to the Zurich airport using public transportation, which, in Switzerland, is as perfect as it can be. We highly recommend this sit to anyone wishing to go to Zurich and we hope to be back sometime in the future. Thanks again, Cordula and Nick, for having chosen us. Mary Jane and Marcelo :-)
