I had a fun time with Bennett, Tuck, Squishy, and Mama cat. Bennett and Mama love to cuddle with me and each other. Tuck loves to hang out no matter where we are but he really loves to be outside. Tuck will jump in the puddles when it rains so make sure to have clean towels at the ready. And put the leash on Squishy while she is lying down and before you bring her outside or it will be difficult to get her to move. She doesn't know that she has to use to bathroom (some times she does, but mostly she needs reminding) as she has beginnings of dementia, but as soon as she is outside she will go right away. Mama cat loves to cuddle and lay on your chest. If you try to move, she gets "sassy", so just let her stay until she's ready to move lol.
This house sit is located deep in the rural countryside and is an active small-holding. It fits a niche for housesitters who genuinely enjoy a working rural environment. It's not for 5-star luxury seekers. Mel and Margaret are organised, kind people for whom the well-being of their animals is paramount. They left us clear and concise instructions on the daily routine which were easy to follow. Arriving the day before they left allowed us to feel very comfortable with what was needed and gave Diesel the dog the time he needed to get to know us before his folks left. As a rescue it took him a little time to approach us but we soon became the best of friends. Diesel loves walking in the beautiful countryside around his home and he was a pleasure to walk with - obedient, reliable and happy to ignore the sheep that share the footpaths, including Offa's dyke trail and its impressive views. The daily routine for the sheep, ducks and chickens together with a good length walk for Diesel still left plenty of time to visit local places of interest. You'll need your car to get around.
Calvin’s family are amazing, they are very kind and outgoing, Calvin is an amazing cat. Listens and fun to be around. I would definitely recommend taking care of him and enjoying the wonderful area that they live in.
Kristi and family made us feel very welcome at their beautiful home and with their adorable pets. They provided detailed instructions of the pet care and promptly answered questions that came up, via text. The location of their home is stunning, nestled in a wooded area on a quiet street. They also offered us their golf cart to explore charming Peachtree City. Their home is VERY comfortable, with a beautiful pool, pool house (with a ping pong table and dart board), and a few acres with a gorgeous pond, beautiful horses, and funny chickens, a duck, and a goose. My family did not want to leave to even go explore nearby Atlanta, we were enjoying their home, land, and pets so much. The 4 dogs are precious, well-behaved, and hilarious. They also have 3 outdoor kittens we loved playing with. Anybody who is invited to house/pet sit here is VERY lucky. You will want to go back again and again.
the sit at Joanne's place was incredible, we arrived there from our previous sit in Lombardy and when we drove up we immediately had the WOW effect, the surroundings were breathtaking. like a fairytale environment. Joanne has a great property on the edge of the village halfway up the mountain. We immediately fell in love with the area, so beautiful and peaceful. Joanne made us a delicious dinner and, in 1 1/2 days, told us the ins and outs of caring for her babies. we have done a lot of sitting with dogs, but Nina is the most wonderful dog we have come across, sweet, listens well, real cuddle buddy but also a good watchdog, and then there are Tom and Buddy the cats, 2 real characters, sweet and affectionate when they want that and that's what we have Gerry, a real Diva with an attitude :) till she accept you and then she is the best horse ever, she really speaks to you what she wants, she listens very well once she has accepted you. and then the chicken and geese, the geese are walking patrole the whole day, and scanning the area. If you are looking for peace and tranquility and a place where you can combine your love for animals and nature, then I can absolutely recommend this one. Joanne, thank you very much for this opportunity and trust to look after your animals. You are always welcome in the Netherlands! Give Nina, Gerry, the cats and the other animals a big hug from us. This was a sit we will never forget.
We were warmly welcomed by Miranda & Edward. We had a delicious lunch on the patio before being shown around the house and large garden. The house is extremely comfortable providing everything a sitter could want, including fresh eggs everyday, provided by the six hens and is situated in an idyllic rural location with walks straight from the door into the countryside. There are stunning views but yet it is only a few miles from Sudbury, as well as other pretty Suffolk villages. Poppy is absolutely gorgeous, happy to go out for long walks in all weathers, she enjoyed trips in the car to local cafes and pubs where she was very well behaved. Teeka would come and go via the cat flap, occasionally bringing us a variety of wildlife “gifts”. Most evenings she would curl up on the sofa, alongside Poppy as we all watched t.v. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Claypits Hall and would recommend this sit.
