Donna and Ken are such wonderful sitters! They gave my little Chili lots of love and she was very happy with them. They took such great care of my home as well and it was impeccably clean when I returned from my trip. Highly recommend Donna and Ken for your house sitting needs. I can't wait for them to return to mine!
It was very nice meeting Melissa, Lyra and Willow before their trip. Melissa showed me around the house, which was very clean upon my arrival, and everything I could possible need. The guest bed was so comfy I actually used to look forward to a good sleep every night. The cats are a bundle of joy, each one of them has a different personality. If you want cuddles, Newton and Grendel are the ones. Toby is sweet but he prefers some distance, from the group he was the most playful. The girls, Meeka and Dreamy, will need some time to warm up to you but they are sweet too just that they don't like to be carried. Meeka, Toby and Grendel can be very rough and even a little mean playing with each other - for Meeka is not a problem because she would wrestle with them but Dreamy is not really into it so she will just run away and yell. They all love their wet food - at the beginning, because the girls are more hesitant to be around strangers, it will be nice to set aside some wet food for them to eat where they feel comfortable just making sure the guys won't eat it. They can be very vocal and active overnight as well. A better communication and proactivity could have been helpful when it comes to ensuring a guide or printed out instructions were provided prior to the sit rather than waiting for questions to arise and sharing more about the cats behaviours when the questions were asked prior to the sit. Something that was omitted was the fact that the cats do spray daily in random places around the house including the couch and kitchen counters; it will take someone who loves cats to understand that they are not doing this on purpose, carry on and still care for them with love. This is something to consider for those sitters with back or hands/arms health condition or sensitive to strong smells. I do love cats so all I did was to add the cleaning to my daily tasks. I just would recommend a vet visit to discard any health issues the cats may have and distributing the litter boxes in different places around the house instead of having them all together; hopefully that help. Everything else was accurate and I do love my memories of we all spending time together. Thank you!
Dodo is an amazing dog, so sweet and a great cuddler. Ariana is so nice, made for a festive place to stay for the holidays! The house has lots of puzzles to do on rainy days, and is convenient to public transit!
We recently had the pleasure of meeting Jackie and her husband Keith and of looking after their two adorable kittens and very, very well behaved dog in their absence. Jackie kindly met us at the nearest rain station and was very easy to talk to. Leeds is easily accessible by train in around ten minutes. There are some good local walks for Frankie just a few minutes walk from the property. The house is modern, comfortable and Jackie was very hospitable and made us feel very welcome in her home.We very much enjoyed our time there.
Watching Orion and staying in this gorgeous home was such a treat! Orion is super easy to take care of and warms up to you very quickly - he enjoys his couch snuggles for sure! The home is absolutely beautiful and Jens (and Elena!) could not have been any nicer, even leaving us some treats upon arrival. I would highly recommend this sit to anyway interested.
What a wonderful sit. Tjasa's home is spacious and comfortable. Tjasa is very responsive, easy to communicate with, easy-going and I really treasure getting to know her and her charming daughter. And Charlie! Oh my goodness... Charlie has given me a new appreciation for how lovely a dog can be. I swear he could read my mind. He was an absolutely well-behaved gentleman and a joy. Though he's an old man, he has a wonderful spirit and playfulness. It's impossible to be in a bad mood when you see the way he prances for his walks. A previous housesitter called him "puka boy" which my British friend said it meant, great, perfect , really good, excellent. It fit him well. He is still however a dog, so you've got to keep an eye on him so he doesn't eat or roll in every gross thing he comes across on your three pleasant walks a day. I'm even more in love with Slovenia than I was on my first trip there. Tjasa's home is in a very quiet neighborhood with very sweet neighbors that didn't speak much if any English but they sure managed to make me feel welcome regardless. There's a nice pizza place a couple blocks away, and two grocery stores nearby. I adored seeing the mountains every morning and took a million photos of them - each day they looked different. The garden took a bit of work. Tjasa has a pump well with rainwater and it takes about 6 trips back and forth every day or two to water it. It was lovely eating fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini and salads from the garden. Tjasa's car is very easy to drive and has good gas mileage. There's really a lot to see in the area. Such an incredible country. If you get the opportunity to watch this home and dog (if I don't beat you to it!), consider yourself very lucky!
What a truly lovely sit in a beautiful house with the gorgeous Pebble, who has definitely stolen our hearts. Rachael and her family are so welcoming, showing us around, giving us loads of ideas for local walks and introducing us to Pebble. They also left us some delicious chocolates and wine. We had a great week taking Pebble to visit various places for walks, ball chasing and swims (we were blessed with beautiful weather); she is so well behaved and loving. Access to the woods and common from the garden was such a bonus. Oh, and the characterful chickens provided us with eggs every day! We highly recommend this sit and really hope we can return. Thank you so much Rachael.
