Amanda and her adorable family took such great care of our dog Steve! She kept me up to date on how things were going and sent pictures of Steve snuggling with the family. I could tell he was having fun and well cared for! She also did an amazing job of taking care of the house and plants. I am pretty sure I came home to my house cleaner than when I left it! It was a pleasure having them stay in our home!

We had such a lovely time looking after Sherbet and Toothless, the cats (the doggie was elsewhere) in Kerry and Ed’s beautiful home. Their instructions were really clear, and we enjoyed the generosity of a bottle of champagne on our arrival!

We had a fairly long stay there, and there were no problems at all. Toothless is very shy, and we barely saw him, but he survived our company so that’s good!

It was a lovely area to explore - the local woods and canal paths are great for walks and runs - and it’s a very peaceful place to live. Views of horses in the field next door - bliss!

A perfect house sitting experience!

lori
We enjoyed good clear communication with Lori, including a great walkthrough of the house and meeting Mr Bigz during our video chat. Lori’s welcome guide matched what she’d told us, right down to the labels on the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers, making it easy to find things. We were able to arrive a day early and stay overnight, enjoying a delicious home cooked meal and getting to know Lori and Mr Bigz before she left the following day. Lori took us on a walking tour of the trail across that street that runs along the Rio Grande. The view of the Sandia mountains is spectacular and picturesque, and Steve enjoyed riding the tram to the top (reservation required). Mr Bigz is such a sweet and lovable kitty, and oh so talkative, letting us know when he wanted to eat or play, maybe go out for a walk in the backyard on his harness and leash, or out to his brand new catio. It is rare that we sit for a cat that doesn’t want investigate everything we own so that we were able to leave the bedroom door open and he slept with us some nights. He also loves being brushed so I made a routine of sitting on the living room floor with him every night while we watched TV, playing and brushing, until he fell asleep. Lori couldn’t have made us feel any more welcome and we’re sure we’ve made a new friend. Oh, and the three-tiered backyard is so beautiful; the perfect spot to watch all the hummingbirds after we filled the feeders each day. Rio Rancho is a great location to explore lots of interesting things, pueblos and cave dwellings and so much more. Don’t miss the beautiful drive to/from Cuba an hour away. We tried a couple of the restaurants Lori listed and K’Lynn’s Southern and Cajun Fusion was our favorite! If you have the opportunity, Steve and I highly recommend house sitting for Lori and with Mr Bigz. Maybe we’ll get to return some day, too!

Julie
Julie was an excellent communicator from the moment we started chatting! All the instructions were crystal clear and Daisy was a joy and easy to care for! She’s extremely vocal and loves human affection. Julie is such a nice person to chat with, and I really appreciated her hospitality!

Virginia
I had a wonderful experience housesitting for Ginny and her perfect kitties! Ginny is hospitable and kind, and the home is beautiful — light filled and airy, yet private; beautifully decorated yet cozy.

And the best part — Samantha and Bella are a joy! Sam is such a gentle soul who loves neck and shoulder rubs (and also boxes and mealtimes!). She is always happy to guide you to the kitchen and is a mellow and perfect sweetheart. Belle is a complete lovebug— she loves to snuggle and get belly rubs, and is the most perfect and respectful spooner at night. She has the tiniest and most adorable meow.

The home is located close to everything, and has terrific wifi as well as great indoor and outdoor spaces. Loved my time here and am still missing these two perfect kitties! 🐈🐈‍⬛
