MaryAnn and Gary were great! We had a bit of a bumpy start and had to make other arrangements for most of the first day but they had a lot going on so it was understandable. The things that were important to us went really well -- Oreo & Cassie were both happy and safe and we got lots of photos of the cats toward the end of the sit -- and the house was in good condition when we returned. We checked in with MaryAnn & Gary regularly and they didn't need anything so they seemed to be very self-sufficient. We had mentioned in the house guide that they didn't need to do the tedious food tracking we usually do for Oreo's oncologist but they went above & beyond and jotted down feedings anyway. This couple is very kind and will take very good care of your home and fur kids so you can focus on being present and in the moment while you're away. Our hearts go out to them for everything they had going on when the sit was happening.

Cannot ask for a better duo to stay in my home and accompany my baby!! Vanessa and Gabe went above and beyond to take care of Jax and my place. They communicated daily with pics and made me feel so comforted. You’ll want to work with them! :)

Doreen

I was fortunate to have Doreen stay at my home to keep my cat, Fozzie, company. Fozzie is pretty set in his ways. He doesn’t like change. In the past when I’ve left him with someone coming once per day I was greeted upon my return by being shunned by him. It would take a few days for Fozzie to get over being mad. I’m happy to say that was not the case this time. Fozzie was his usual self and seemed quite content. Doreen was still at the house when I arrived home. She was just finishing up laundering the used linens and towels. The house was neat and clean. Turns out Doreen has quite the green thumb and had taken to nursing my withering orchid plants. My plants don’t generally thrive. Doreen passed on a few tips and I hope to keep them on the road to blooming. I would highly recommend Doreen, and her husband Rick, to anyone needing pet or house sitting.

I have so many good things to say about Sharon and Dennis! First, they are lovely people with whom I instantly felt comfortable. (They have some family in the neighborhood, so I met them a few months before our sit). Sharon is very organized and communicative, taking time to ensure their arrival and our departure were synced. I could tell they read the manual front to back since she asked great questions about our pups and daily routine. They sent daily pictures of their long walks through the Stanford campus and updated us on our pet's shenanigans. We returned to a spotless house, a lovely note, and wine! They are in high demand for excellent reasons, and I would love to have them sit for us again.

I had a troubling experience with Victoria that I feel is necessary to share because I believe it’s important for others in this community to be aware of what happened. Victoria informed me she was leaving day 6 into an 18 day stay with a little more than 12 hours notice while I was 600 miles away with no backup plan for our dog Jackson. The first few days with Jackson went well. She communicated when I reached out along with pictures of them laying together on the couch and getting along very well. On day 6 she texted me to say Jackson had growled at her while physically trying to get him up from laying on her. She said she was frightened and asked if I had anyone else that could watch him. I immediately called her to try to understand what happened and explained that he was most likely startled rather than wanting to attack her. As I was asking questions about the incident, as I felt I had a right to do, she became extremely defensive and yelled at me on the phone. Admittedly my voice was heightened due to panic but I did not yell. I was simply trying to understand the extreme change in her demeanor from previously texting me she doesn’t easily get flustered, stressed or live in fear to being so frightened she wanted to leave. Knowing my questions upset her I apologized however after ending our call she immediately texted and said she was leaving at 10am. Despite repeatedly telling her that my son, who lives nearby, was out of town, and that I had no other options, she showed no consideration for my situation. Her decision to simply leave our dog stranded was incredibly distressing. I had to cancel my evening plans to find alternate arrangements for the remainder of our trip, which, happens to be my other son’s wedding. While there are other details that aren’t directly related to her pet-sitting duties, I believe it’s important to highlight the lack of professionalism and consideration she showed. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision through my experience.

My travel dates are usually set in stone and don’t change before or during the travel period I’ve originally designated. This trip was very different. My daughter was pregnant with my second grandchild, and since it was a high-risk pregnancy, there was a chance - but we didn’t know for sure - that the baby would be delivered before the expected due date. Michaela knew this and agreed to be on standby. In fact, I left a week earlier than originally planned, and I ended up coming home about two days earlier than planned. Michaela took all of this in stride and Was very kind and generous with her time. She also did a great job pet sitting for Bonita, and she kept the house clean. I would definitely ask her to pet sit again, if she would only have me… And Bonita! Thank you, Michaela!

We were impressed from the moment they arrived. They are genuine animal lovers and it was evident from the start. David and Sheila had obviously prepared for their visit and had studied our Welcome Guide. They knew all three dogs by name and used their names when they introduced themselves to them. They stayed in contact while we were gone, and the place was immaculate when we returned. I recommend them without hesitation.

Dusty, Magg's, Ricky and Teriyaki have been fabulous and so behaved nice with me. The family has welcomed me warmly and everything I needed to know was in a little booklet, so very clear, well explained and helpful.

Alpacas -- and a Schnauzer named Eva -- are way better than reindeer! I spent my best Christmas ever with a trio of alpacas and Eva.  The 16-legged pack were such a delight. Eva was a wonderful companion on walks through the lavender fields, hikes around Sequim and during snuggly movie nights on the couch. She was also helpful in her own way during the alpacas' meal and snack time (they loved carrots and apples). 
The alpacas were so charming and quirky. Each one has her own personality, and it didn't take long for them to warm up to me. (The aforementioned snacks helped!)
As for the humans . . .Susan and Doug are so warm, generous and kind. They immediately made me feel like a member of the family and that their farm was my home for the week. We kept in constant contact, and they were always ready to help when, say, the alpacas' baby monitor didn't work.
Finally, their farm and the surrounding area are stunning. There is so much to see and do in the area, plus lots of dog-friendly places that welcomed Eva. 
The scent of lavender will forever remind me of my incredible pet sit in Sequim.
