This was a wonderful sit in every way! Arielle is a beautiful peaceful soul and it is reflected in her home and her pets. Penny is the cutest and funniest dog ever and she knows it! she wants all the cuddles for herself and with that look in her eyes it’s impossible to refuse. She also loves to eat despite her tiny size… had to keep an eye on her so she wouldn’t sneak into Ace’s food lol. It’s so funny to see how different they are. Ace is more independent and reserved to himself but very sweet and loving… and he’s definitely a guardian. The location is great! Only a short walk from downtown with lots of restaurants, coffee shops, stores, thrift shops, an amazing yoga studio and the beautiful creek where you can go tubing or just take a nice walk. It’s also only a couple blocks from a grocery store and a few blocks from hiking trails with wonderful views. Golden is a charming laid back little town. Very fun yet quiet.. not so much of a nightlife yet very alive. Also the house was very clean and peaceful, ideal to spend the day working or just hanging out in the beautiful backyard as well. I would come back in a heartbeat!!!
We had a wonderful long weekend at Jodie + Rob's place! Jodie and Rob were very welcoming and explained everything (we had no farming experience). The magical book of explanations did the rest 😉. So what can I say - Java, Kola and Milo are the most energetic, funny and cute pack of Labradors you can imagine. We had lots of fun sitting them, and ended up not leaving the farm except for grocery shopping as we enjoyed the time there so much. We'd definitely sit here again! Andrea and Jan
I did not feel comfortable in their home and felt it was left unclean and untidy. I only stayed 1 night as one of the dogs became ill and a family member came to look after her.
It was a pleasure house and pet sitting for this lovely family. The home is in close proximity to all kinds of public transport. A great location for exploring London. Also close by is a lovely park along the river Thames where Coco got to run and play twice a day. Coco has a very public persona and likes to greet absolutely everybody. People just love her and we got the nicest comments on her behaviour. She is unassuming, quiet and a joy to be around. Once you start petting her you need to keep it up for quite some time. Whenever you stop she gives you this reproachful look that makes you feel really guilty. She is OK home alone for 3-4 hours. The guinea pig Pipsqueek is pretty self sufficient. He gets a fresh vegetable bowl, some kibble and hay in the morning, then spends his day in the backyard. He eats any potted plants he can so these need to be placed out of his reach. He is very food oriented so when he realises fresh food has been placed in his cage, he returns on his own....quickly.
I house sat for Heather & Stuart during half term, looking after their cats Mimi and Dasha. Mimi is young and curious. Dasha is a bit more reserved. It's a lovely home with views of the countryside, it's close to Ashdown Forest and walking distance into East Grinstead. I met Jasper and he is a young and friendly dog. Jasper also went away so I didn't look after him. I recommend this sit.
