After failing to secure a sit for Saskia on a previous occasion we were very pleased to be offered an opportunity to look after the dogs, Bracken and Roscoe, and the hens in her beautiful home. Saskia is extremely friendly, warm and welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. As well showing us around and ensuring we had all the necessary information, Saskia provided a delicious light lunch over which we enjoyed a chat with her and her husband Justin prior to their departure. Our daily walks with the dogs along footpaths accessible straight from the garden were hassle-free, with Roscoe walking well to heel when instructed to do so both on or off the lead and sweet old boy Bracken happily trotting along behind. Roscoe responds well to the whistle and, although Bracken’s hearing isn’t quite what it used to be, it was no problem as he never strayed more than a few feet away from us. At other times we had a lot of fun playing hide and seek with Roscoe whilst taking a stroll in the large lawned garden. The hens were easily cared for, topping up feed and water and collecting the copious amounts of eggs each day which were very much enjoyed in all manner of ways. Saskia’s home is extremely comfortable and relaxing. The dogs happily curled up at our feet in the evenings and, although they obviously love attention, were very undemanding. It was very sad when we had to say goodbye to them. We highly recommend this sit to anyone who is lucky enough to be invited to look after Roscoe and Bracken and hope we will be able to return one day.
Chris and Risa are excellent hosts! Their flat is bright and spacious, and they made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay, giving me plenty of tips about things to do, including many very good restaurant recommendations. There are also several excellent bakeries on their doorstep. Professor is a chill, low-maintenance kitty, who was fun to play with and cuddle in the evenings when he tended to become livelier. Overall, this was an excellent sit with friendly hosts and a sweet cat!
The surroundings are amazing, the house is beautiful, and Indie is a lovely, clever cat with real character. She might need a bit more time than usual to get used to you and become friendly, but once the ice is broken, she is the cutest and most loving cat. :) I'll definitely miss her!
Fleur was a great host! Communicative and gave me all the instructions needed to look after Kevin. Kevin was an easy going and affectionate cat and kept me company on the couch and laptop. The apartment was in a great location in Kingston overlooking the park with an amazing balcony. Would happily catsit again x
We had such a lovely week with Skeena in Carys and Hugh’s beautiful home. They were kind enough to allow Ethan and I to arrive a day earlier and were generous enough to pick us up from the train station and feed us dinner. Skeena is such a sweet and loving dog, she was such great company for us as we relaxed at home but was also quite happy on days we went out during the day to explore the beautiful area. Carys gave us some great local recommendations - we loved the Sunday markets in Divonne-les-Bains and walking around the Coppet port. We also caught the ferry from Nyon to Yvoire which was beautiful. Coming home to Skeena’s excited body wiggles often offering us a toy was so lovely. We already miss Skeena and would happily sit for her again. Thanks Carys and Hugh 😊
This was a lovely housesit with 2 gorgeous cats - penthouse apartment in Marseille with a balcony. Very near to both centre of town and the beaches. Cats very different - one ready for adventure and one very shy and retiring but we soon got to know how they would react! Very good for anyone seeking a city life.
